00:00 Over the last few days since Saturday, the uni-mogs have been quite active.
00:06 Some of the major arterial roads within the Liverpool area did turn into what looked like
00:11 a major river.
00:12 The river came up out of the Causeways quite rapidly and caught a lot of vehicles off guard.
00:22 We used the HCV out in Heathcote Road to clear some people from their cars.
00:27 We were able to pull up right next to the cars and get those people right into the cabin.
00:32 From there we responded to Hoxton Park Road and when we arrived on scene we found about
00:36 20 to 30 cars almost up to their headlights in flood water with people still in the vehicles.
00:41 We were able to proceed down Hoxton Park Road, get those people onto their roofs and into
00:46 the back of the HCV.
00:47 The only way to get her out of the car was out through the window and onto her roof and
00:51 then into the uni-mog.
00:52 It was a general racing but it was concerning as well being in an urban area.
01:00 As soon as your training kicks in you just do what you need to do and do it safely.
01:09 All up we cleared about 40 to 50 people over a couple of hour period, clearing them all
01:13 out off the road.
01:34 Proud to be an SES volunteer and proud to be out there helping the local communities
01:54 and not just of Sydney, of Metro but across the state.
