Plot: The action takes place in an unnamed country ruled by a military junta that brutally suppresses any free thought. Antonio Murillo, a former military pilot who was dismissed from the army for refusing to sink a ship with refugees, now drives a taxi, periodically becoming a witness to the arbitrariness of the authorities. His waitress friend Maria is a member of the underground fighting against the dictatorship. Antonio, for all his dislike for the junta, is not interested in politics, his dream is to save money and become a pilot again, acquiring his own plane. But one day he gave a ride in his taxi to a man who turned out to be an oppositionist, and came to the attention of the special services. As a result, because of a provocateur, he ends up in prison, where several underground members are already imprisoned, and is subjected to torture. Thanks to his resourcefulness and mechanic skills, he manages to save the lives of the underground fighters by foiling a provocation arranged by the prison warden, and then organize an escape from prison. Together with Maria, Antonio escapes from the police in a hijacked taxi, and then, after hijacking a plane, flees the country.
