MEET the Sherp ATV – an amphibious vehicle that can tear through ice, mud and deep water. The all-terrain ATV is built to tackle conditions that other off-road vehicles can’t handle. The Sherp can travel through extreme and remote areas in the harshest of weather. Powered by a Kubota V150T engine and weighing 3,527lbs, the Sherp is equally at home on land or in water.

00:00 The Sherp can cross swamps, water, it's fully amphibious. It's made for really, really remote
00:06 areas. It can get you pretty much anywhere.
00:13 The Sherp is the ultimate go-anywhere ATV. Built to tackle terrain, the other off-road
00:29 vehicles just can't handle.
00:32 The idea comes from Russia. We have a recreational market for sure, but this vehicle was made
00:39 to do your job. It's not a toy. The Sherp being used with many commercial applications
00:44 such as mining, exploration, geology, surveying, hydro, pipelines.
00:51 Eight years ago, the team at Sherp decided to put their years of all-terrain vehicle
00:55 construction experience into an exciting new project.
00:59 In 2012, that was a prototype. After that, they started the mass production in 2015.
01:06 Since 2017, we sold over 200 units in North America, and we have six dealers in Canada
01:12 so far and 15 in the U.S.
01:16 The Sherp is built in Ukraine and we assembled it here in Canada.
01:20 Powered by a Kubota engine and weighing in at 3,527 pounds, the Sherp is equally at home
01:28 on land or water.
01:29 The Sherp can cross swamps, water, it's fully amphibious. Any type of weather can get you
01:36 pretty much anywhere.
01:37 And it has a neat trick to handle different terrain.
01:42 The main thing about the Sherp is the tires. The tires are self-inflated with the exhaust,
01:46 which allows you to control the pressure. You can deflate and inflate it within 30 to
01:50 40 seconds, all the way down and all the way up. Depends on what you want to cross, if
01:57 you want to inflate the tires with the exhaust, you just close the valve, hit the right button,
02:02 use the gas, and the exhaust going right into the tires, all four wheels even.
02:09 And if you need to go long distance, the vehicle has a pretty impressive fuel capacity.
02:16 In each tire, you got the additional fuel tank. If you need to work in really remote
02:22 areas with no gas stations, with no civilization, it could feed up to 55 liters per one tire.
02:29 So in total, it gives you around 280, 285 liters, the whole unit, including the main
02:36 tank. If you fill up, it allows you to go 3,000 kilometers. It could feed up to four
02:41 people in the back with comfort, but in an emergency rescue situation, you can feed up
02:46 to six or eight people in the back.
02:49 With 44.3 horsepower, a top speed of 24 and a half miles per hour on dry land, and 3.7
02:56 on water, the Sherp isn't going to break any speed records, but it will take you just about
03:03 anywhere.
03:04 It was not made for the highways, for just a regular road. It was made mostly for commercial
03:09 use for those companies and people who has some need to use that type of equipment in
03:16 a really, really remote areas and tough terrains where just any regular ATVs or any other equipment
03:21 cannot do.
03:22 Oh, it feels amazing, especially when you're going from the ice to the water. A standard
03:29 version of Sherp is $107,000 US dollars.
03:34 Very favorite thing about the Sherp is the tires. I love the tires. We've been in situations
03:41 where we thought, "This is it. This is over. This is where we cannot cross." But the Sherp
03:46 has never got stuck. When you're struggling to cross this particular terrain, the Sherp
03:52 will get you where you want to go.
