00:00 going into this decision, obviously,
00:01 it's very emotional for you and obviously your fans,
00:03 your family.
00:04 Can you talk about how you came to this culmination
00:07 and what the timing and everything to tell us?
00:10 - Yeah, again, it's not one moment that's led to this.
00:14 It's a few different factors.
00:17 And my body is just having a battle with father time.
00:21 I've had arthritis ever since I can remember.
00:25 My gout is flared up so much
00:27 that I can barely walk on some days.
00:29 Just pushing to get through physical therapy
00:32 and to continue the workouts.
00:34 I remember last summer,
00:37 I was trying to not show that emotion
00:39 and I barely could even walk to the car at Dover
00:43 'cause I had to have some shots pre-race
00:45 just so that I could move my knee and move my feet.
00:48 Those are those moments where things were starting to add up
00:50 before things happened at Pocono.
00:53 So father time, I'm 45 years old.
00:55 I'm very happy, complacent,
00:58 and there's nothing that I'll look back on and regret
01:00 about having this opportunity at the top level of NASCAR.
