00:00 Blacktips can grow up to six feet in length.
00:04 They lack the heft and girth of tigers, but they are fast.
00:09 Their jaws are on the underside of their heads
00:15 and fold up when swimming, creating a perfect streamline.
00:19 They also travel in packs with other blacktips.
00:29 It begins when schools of small baitfish work up the sharks
00:36 by sending out electrical charges.
00:38 Large fish like jacks dive in, sending them scurrying.
00:51 And then come the sharks.
00:56 The sharks, working together.
01:02 Like cowboys, the sharks herd the fish,
01:10 driving them to a place of no escape, the shore.
01:14 Blacktips are high metabolic sharks,
01:25 constantly needing water flowing over their large gill slits.
01:30 Every second out of the water could mean death.
01:33 Large gray herons arrive to enjoy the spoils of war.
01:53 It's as if wolves herded deer into lakes
01:56 and swam out after them to complete the kill.
01:58 For these sharks, there's no line in the sand
02:04 between themselves and their prey.
