00:00 now the three-time world wrestling champion Bray Wyatt has died suddenly at
00:04 the age of 36. Wyatt whose real name was Wyndham Rotunda had been dealing with an
00:10 undisclosed health issue that had kept him out of the ring since February. There
00:13 are reports he died from a heart attack. Well Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was among
00:17 those paying tribute saying I'm heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt's
00:21 passing always had tremendous respect and love for him. Very unique, cool and
00:26 rare character which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling. And
00:30 WWE commentator Mick Foley said I thought so highly of Bray Wyatt he was a
00:35 true visionary one of the most compelling presences that wrestling has
00:39 ever seen. Well let's cross live now and talk to Liam Stewart he's a writer for
00:44 the wrestling magazine Inside the Ropes. Good to talk to you. A very very sad day
00:49 this for the world of wrestling. How much of a shock was this? Yeah this is this
00:55 has been a real shock to the community I mean just two days ago we lost another
01:00 wrestling legend of the former WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk and like you say
01:06 Bray Wyatt being so young just 36 leaving behind you know four young
01:10 children a young wife it's really left a hole in the wrestling community we've
01:14 seen over the last sort of 24 hours as this has started to come out sort of
01:18 tributes paid from fans and from talent and alike and the one thing that seems
01:23 to be key throughout is yes Bray Wyatt was an incredible performer but he was
01:28 an even better human we're seeing stories of him sitting down with talent
01:31 behind the scenes to offer them advice and to kind of give them a shoulder to
01:34 cry on but as well as that stories of him reaching out to fans and via social
01:39 media who had come to him saying they were having a hard time with their
01:41 mental health and going that extra step to making sure that they were okay and
01:45 weren't doing anything stupid so it's been a real loss to the community. I mean
01:48 he has been part of the community for quite a number of years and yet he's so
01:52 young at the age of 36 tell me what his legacy will be for the world of
01:56 wrestling do you think? I think his legacy will be a creative mind that
02:01 couldn't be restricted by anyone who wanted to you know and in wrestling we
02:05 have these big colorful characters you know likes of The Undertaker and
02:10 Mankind but as wrestling has moved more into realism recent years Bray Wyatt was
02:15 one of those old-school guys that just wanted to produce art you know sort of
02:19 create his story and wouldn't let other people tailor it but I think more than
02:23 that I think a great father a great husband and a great friend will be his
02:27 legacy and you know we're truly heartbroken by this loss and you know
02:32 news has come out that the WWE is going to be donating sales of his t-shirt and
02:37 merchandise to his family during this difficult time and I think the sense of
02:42 community he's bringing together will be his lasting legacy. Okay Liam Stewart
02:47 writer with the Wrestling Magazine, Inside the Ropes, it's a very sad
02:51 occasion to have to talk to you but thank you once again for taking the time
02:55 to talk to us on the BBC.
