02:34 Thank you!
02:36 We're staying at the beautiful Antigua Royalton Resort and arriving to a welcome toast from the gracious staff.
02:41 Cheers!
02:44 We'll meet with Colin and then with our travelers for our first night to begin.
02:49 Oh my God, this is stunning.

02:55 What's going on, y'all? My name is Dr. Colin Williams.
02:58 I am from New York City by way of Antigua.
03:02 I lived in Antigua until I was five, spent the rest of my time in Brooklyn and Queens.
03:06 I grew up in New York where a lot of people from the Caribbean,
03:10 but they know people know the big islands like the Jamaicas and the Trinidads.
03:14 And I often said Antigua and people were like, "Oh, where is that?"
03:17 I've even had somebody ask me if that's Antigua Bay in Jamaica.
03:21 So the best for me really is just that recognition, that understanding of Antigua and people appreciating it.
03:28 The hospitality, all of that really, really touches me.
03:31 People are here right now in Antigua for CDE, a small trip that I did in 2015 when I got my doctorate
03:37 to come celebrate with my family down here, with all my friends from the States.
03:41 One of my friends said, "Can I feature you in a story?" I said, "Sure."
03:45 And that went from a 30-person one-time celebration to...
03:48 [Music]
03:53 Now that we've met the founder of CDE, we're meeting up with our travel crew
03:57 to hear why they love traveling together before they head out to the welcome party.
04:01 So this is actually my second time to CDE. I feel like I had the best first experience.
04:06 I came in 2019. There was a few hundred of us, and it was insane.
04:10 I met so many amazing people, literally made friendships that have lasted since.
04:15 People that I literally still see in Los Angeles. Incredible experience. I am so happy to be back.
04:21 The goal of this trip is to actually vacation, have a good time, and really just enjoy myself
04:25 with a lot of folks who are here to have a good time, too.
04:28 Definitely, I'm DJing about three or four times during the trip, so I'm trying to set the tone.
04:31 There are a lot of first-comers on the trip.
04:33 I absolutely am high energy. I'm first on the dance floor, last one off.
04:37 My mood right now is living life. That's my game plan.
04:40 Just catching a vibe.
04:41 And Teagans are known to party all night to the music of the island, including soca, reggae, dancehall,
04:47 and of course, the top hits in black culture.
04:49 This nightclub turned out to be the official welcome party for the group, and that it was.
04:54 [music]
05:04 I'm just here to have a good-ass time.
05:06 [music]
05:13 Atita, we are going to have a good time. I plan to sweat out my afro and start all over again tomorrow.
05:19 So let's go.
05:20 Night one.
05:22 Next up on Bougie and Abroad.
05:24 Keep watching, fam, because we've got a lot more fun and excursions to share and travel goals to reach in Antigua.
05:30 We've got a soca dance class and a beach party to come.
