00:04 in this week's Fifree Press.
00:05 The paper's on sale from this morning so please do pick up a copy when you're out and about.
00:10 It's been a busy week of major events and landmark celebrations which we cover them
00:15 all in this week's edition.
00:17 Our front page focuses on Kirkcaldy Running Festival which takes place this weekend.
00:22 Over 1,000 people are taking part at all the events.
00:24 It's got a half marathon, a fun run, a trail run and also a prom trail as well.
00:29 We've got all the details of when they take place and where the best viewing points to
00:33 cheer their runners on so please do get along and give them their support.
00:36 It's a major event for Kirkcaldy.
00:39 This week also sees news of the 60th anniversary of the day the Beatles played their famous
00:44 gig in Kirkcaldy.
00:45 Again it's a landmark anniversary which is being marked brilliantly by a couple of events.
00:50 The first one to be announced is at the King's Live Lounge which is staging a screening of
00:54 A Hard Day's Night.
00:55 The band's 1964 film was a critical and commercial success.
01:00 And you also get six singers who are all local who are going to perform their own favourite
01:04 tracks.
01:05 The only proviso is it must be a song written by one of the Beatles.
01:08 If you haven't got a ticket you could be struggling because it's heading to a very very quick
01:12 sell out.
01:14 And Rock the Rovers is back this weekend.
01:15 The long running fundraiser for Race Rovers will feature a whole day of live music.
01:20 We've got all the details of who's playing and when to see them in this week's press.
01:25 And news that Baby Grows Factory is finally about to be developed sparked lots of memories
01:29 of working at the factory which is part of Kirkcaldy's industrial landscape for many
01:34 many decades.
01:35 Danielle Van Uren has been speaking to some of the workers for a special feature on what
01:39 it's like to work there, a place which once employed 800 people and sadly is no longer
01:44 in existence.
01:45 It's a fantastic feature looking back on part of Kirkcaldy's industrial heritage in this
01:49 week's paper.
01:50 Please do pick up a copy of the press when you're out and about.
