00:00 Well, good morning. We're here at Gunnedah at the ACWIP field day and we're launching
00:06 our crime prevention campaign about increasing reporting to police, to the police assistance
00:14 line on 131444. I'm very pleased today to be accompanied by a local farming family who
00:23 unfortunately were a victim of a crime. And so, May I please introduce?
00:27 Yeah, so I'm Alex. We've got a couple of properties out near Mullally and yeah, we
00:34 had a few of our machinery sheds ransacked I suppose a couple of years ago. A lot of
00:41 tools, equipment, GPS's out of the tractors, two ways stolen. Yeah, and a lot of neighbours
00:48 had motorbikes, augers.
00:51 And this equipment that was stolen is a significant disruption to your farming business?
00:58 Yeah, it was. Like all the tyres and wheels off the comb trailers and a lot of the technology
01:05 that runs the tractors was taken.
01:09 So that means that basically your farming system was down because of these thefts but
01:15 then you had to go and replace all of this equipment as well?
01:18 Yep, we did.
01:19 And that obviously takes time, right?
01:21 It does take a bit of time. Fortunately we had all our gear insured but you know, it
01:29 still takes time to replace things and things might not be in stock and all the rest of
01:33 it.
01:34 So it's a massive disruption?
01:35 Yeah.
01:36 And how much of any of that equipment that was stolen was actually recovered at all?
01:42 Nothing that was stolen from us was able to be recovered. I believe a few neighbours had
01:47 a few motorbikes and things returned but there was a lot of incidentals that we never saw
01:52 again.
01:53 Okay. Well thanks very much for talking to me today and we wish you back well.
01:57 Thank you.
01:58 Thank you.
