Bodies of victims to be released today, says Selangor police chief

The remains of nine victims of the Elmina, Shah Alam will be released to their families in stages on Sunday (Aug 20), says Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

Hearses are on standby at Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang, Selangor to transport the remains of the nine victims.

Their remains will be brought to Masjid Al-Rahimiah for funeral prayers before being transported to their respective funeral services.

00:45 We have received the DNA samples, almost all of the samples that were sent before this.
00:51 And we have decided last night that all the victims involved in the disaster have been identified and are ready to be handed over to family representatives this morning.
01:06 So, from the post-mortem, using fingerprints, DNA and odontology, the police and the hospital have confirmed that the victims in the disaster are
01:27 Dato' Sri Johari bin Harun, Md Taufiq bin Md Zaki, Kairil Azwan bin Jamaluddin, 5th Sharifuddin bin Shari, 6th Syahrul Amir bin Omar, 7th Md Amin Fawaz bin Muhammad Muaydi,
01:47 8th Idris Abdul Talib alias Ramali, 9th Syahrul Kamal bin Ruslan, and 10th Haikal Aras bin Abdul Azim.
02:04 These 10 people are among those who were handed over yesterday.
02:08 Their bodies will be handed over to their families this morning.
02:13 Secondly, I also want to emphasize that there are no more individuals involved and victims in the disaster.
02:23 Only these 10 victims, 8 of whom were on the plane and 2 on the road.
02:33 So, with that, our police, hospital, and the Malaysian Chemical Authority have completed the task of processing the bodies today.
02:49 Next, the Jais team will receive the bodies this morning and will proceed with the process of processing the bodies until the bodies are completed and the funeral prayer is completed.
