00:00 There has been a slight eastward shift in the forecast track, which is a little
00:04 bit of good news here from Los Angeles down to San Diego, at least in the
00:07 coastal areas where there likely will be some offshore flow as that tropical
00:11 cyclone is approaching, but potentially damaging winds will be possible here,
00:15 likely gusting over 50 miles an hour. Very heavy rain along the coastal areas
00:19 could lead to 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, but along and east of the center of the
00:24 track that's especially going to impact the mountainous and desert areas just
00:28 inland, that could lead to catastrophic flooding and there could even be
00:31 double-digit rainfall totals, especially on the eastern and southern slopes of
00:34 those mountain ranges like the San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear to Forest
00:39 Falls and areas downstream and the desert locations could see catastrophic
00:43 flooding. So definitely will be on flash flood mode today across interior
00:47 California, well ahead of Hurricane Hillary that is now about 300 miles to
00:52 the south of the Baja Peninsula. The pressure is up to about 947 millibars,
00:56 but I do expect Hillary to maintain tropical storm strength as it passes
01:02 over the western edge of the Baja Peninsula and into Southern California
01:05 tomorrow, Sunday afternoon and evening, and that's when those dangerous impacts
01:09 are going to arrive.
