00:00 Michael Orr reveals the big lie of The Blind Side.
00:06 NBC reports that former NFL star Michael Orr says he believed that he had been adopted
00:10 by Sean and Leigh Antuini as a teenager.
00:14 Orr whose life inspired the Oscar winning film The Blind Side was homeless when he first
00:18 met the Tuis.
00:22 Twenty years later Orr accused the couple of misleading him into signing away his legal
00:25 rights and forcing him into a conservatorship.
00:30 According to Orr, the Tuis tricked him under the guise that his cooperation would legally
00:34 make him a member of their family.
00:37 NBC reports that a conservatorship is a legal arrangement that places a third party in charge
00:41 of a person's ability to make decisions for themselves.
00:46 On August 14th, Orr filed a petition to end the conservatorship after learning that the
00:50 legal agreement did not make him a legal member of the Tuis family.
00:56 The lie of Michael's adoption is one upon which co-conservators Leigh Antuini and Sean
00:59 Tuis have enriched themselves at the expense of the award they under signed Michael Orr,
01:03 the legal petition said.
01:06 Leigh Antuini founded the Making It Happen Foundation for underprivileged youth and has
01:10 encouraged adoption on television and social media for years.
01:15 Orr has also been promoting his new book, When Your Back's Against the Wall, famed football
01:19 lessons learned through a lifetime of adversity.
01:25 CNN reports that the book focuses on Orr's life before meeting the Tuis family.
01:30 "The things I went through and had to do to go through to that point, I went through from
01:34 three years old to 18 when I moved in with the Tuis family, who I'm grateful for letting
01:38 me stay my senior year there, but you have to understand what it took for me to get to
01:42 that point," Michael told Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
01:44 "I'm grateful for that."
