00:21 the Filipinos who were part of the resupply mission to the BRP Sierra Madre,

00:25 China again insisted that it is theirs, even if it is part of our exclusive economic zone and continental shelf,

00:32 which was followed by the 2016 arbitral ruling that the Philippines won.

00:37 The Philippine side insisted on transporting construction materials to the grounded vessel for overhaul and reinforcement

00:47 with the intent of permanently occupying the Genay Rift.

00:51 The above is the cause of this incident.

00:56 They say they are still waiting to fulfill the promise made by the Philippines to remove the BRP Sierra Madre 24 years after it was destroyed in Ayungin Shoal in 1999,

01:08 at the time of President Joseph Estrada.

01:11 That promise was first said by the Philippine officials, which they do not remember.
