00:00 Michael Orr filed a legal petition to terminate a conservatorship on Monday,
00:04 alleging Leanne Tui and Sean Tui lied about adopting him while making millions off his name.
00:10 The retired NFL player's life inspired the Oscar-nominated film The Blind Side,
00:14 but now the 37-year-old claims the Tui family tricked him into making them his conservators
00:19 when he was 18, allegedly telling him there was no consequential difference
00:23 between being adopted and entering into a conservatorship.
00:26 People obtained a legal filing submitted Monday in a Tennessee probate court which says Orr
00:31 trusted the Tui's and signed where they told him to sign. Also reviewed by People was the 2004
00:36 conservatorship filing, which shows that Orr signed the papers despite being 18 years old
00:41 at the time and having no known physical or psychological disabilities that would often
00:46 lead to a legal adult to agree to a conservatorship. The 2004 filings gave Leanne and Sean all powers
00:52 of attorney to act on his behalf and said that Orr shall not be allowed to enter into any contracts
00:57 without the direct approval of his conservators. Orr alleged in Monday's petition that the Tui's
01:02 and their two children by birth all made money off the 2009 film, which centered around the
01:08 family taking him in and helping him both in school and on the field. According to ESPN,
01:13 the Tui's alleged in their 2010 book that they split the profits five ways.
01:17 Orr went on to play football at the University of Mississippi
01:21 and was later drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2009.
