00:00 To demonstrate how long and incredible their tongues are, we have their favourite food here, which is honey,
00:04 and we have this see-through tube with a camera at the end.
00:07 So what we'll do is we are going to put the honey inside the tube
00:10 and we'll hopefully be able to see how amazing and long her tongue really is.
00:13 So as you can see here, Kyra is using her incredible tongue to go through,
00:21 down to the tube and get all of the honey out.
00:24 You can just see exactly how long her tongue is.
00:28 So a sun bear's tongue is around 20 to 30 centimetres in length
00:32 and Kyra is doing her very best to demonstrate that at the minute.
00:35 Sun bears like Kyra and Nandira have incredibly long tongues.
00:38 Now they would actually use their tongues to help them forage for food.
00:42 Now us as keepers, we would scatter the food around the enclosures.
00:45 Now their favourite food is lots of different bugs and of course honey,
00:49 and they would use their tongues to look for the food in all the nooks and crannies that we hide it in.
00:53 So sun bears get their name from that incredible crest on their chest.
00:56 So you can see Kyra's is really, really bright in colouration.
01:00 Now the crests are actually individual to each sun bear, so it's a bit like our fingerprint.
01:04 So Kyra's is really, really bright and it is kind of a full sun shape,
01:09 whereas Nandira's is obviously very different and he does have little speckles inside it.
