00:00 Hello everyone, my name is Deepak Chauhan, I hope you guys are doing absolutely awesome.
00:24 So recently I completed an international record on my BMW S1000RR 2021 and we did a fastest
00:31 motorcycle ride from south of India to north of India, which is from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
00:47 So this record was achieved in a record time of 45 hours 46 minutes, which was a right
00:53 time and the rest time was around 15 hours.
00:56 So the total time was around 61 hours, which is again an international record, because
01:00 the previous record was around 83 hours or 87 hours, which was not solo, it was done
01:06 in a group actually, it was done by two plus riders I suppose.
01:10 So we started the ride from Kanyakumari in the down south, we went there, we stayed there
01:16 for around two days to adapt to those conditions and we had few of the permissions to be taken
01:21 from the authorities before we start the ride in order to show them the odometer which is
01:26 set at zero and we had to set our onboard computer which has to be set at zero and it
01:31 has to be shown to the police station in Kanyakumari itself.
01:36 So we got the ascent done from the police station in Kanyakumari.
01:39 So the ride was started on June 14, 2023.
01:41 We started early in the morning, the ride actually started at seven o'clock in the morning
01:46 on June 14, 2023.
01:48 We reached on June 16, 2023 at around 7pm.
01:53 So the overall time was around 45 hours, 46 minutes, which was recorded on the onboard
01:58 computer and whenever you are doing an international record or a national record, especially this
02:03 kind of expedition, there are a lot of precautions which has to be taken because we have to take
02:07 care of the food while we are traveling.
02:11 That is one thing and we have to take a record of all the fuel stops which we will be taking
02:15 because all the fuel receipts are very important for us in order to submit to India Book of
02:20 Records and Asia Book of Records and after they analyze all the details which we have
02:25 submitted.
02:26 So initially when we started the ride, we came from Kanyakumari till Hosur and then
02:30 we had to de-route from Hosur.
02:32 So we took a U-turn, went back to Shulagiri and from Shulagiri we took another route which
02:36 goes to the Hyderabad.
02:38 The route was not that good because it was very challenging because there are a lot of
02:42 speed breakers and you pass via rural area.
02:45 But however we reached Hyderabad and from Hyderabad we went to Nagpur and there on we
02:48 carried to Agra, Delhi, Patankot and then Jammu and then we reached the Srinagar.
02:55 Especially the challenging portion of this ride was the road conditions basically because
02:59 the road conditions is not that uniform across India.
03:02 Most of the routes which is there in the southern part of India is very well defined.
03:05 The routes are very very good and there are mostly four lanes, especially while coming
03:09 from Kanyakumari till Hosur or Bangalore.
03:12 But after you cross Shulagiri, the route till Hyderabad also is very good.
03:16 But after Hyderabad it is a little challenging when you reach towards Nagpur.
03:19 We faced a few challenges in Punjab as well.
03:21 There were a few punctures on the bike and we had to remove those punctures.
03:24 And the most important problem which we faced with respect to this bike is the fuel issues
03:29 because this demands higher octane fuel and the same higher octane fuel is not available
03:34 across India anywhere.
03:36 So we had to rely on the fuel stops which we were getting on the go because it was important
03:39 for us to reach on time rather than depend on the fuel.
03:43 But that affected the efficiency of the bike because it is used to the higher octane and
03:48 it was showing some hiccups.
03:50 So we had to get the fuel tank and all cleared after the ride.
03:53 And in the last 70 to 80 kilometers there were a few issues wherein the bike was turning
03:57 off because the fuel, because the air filter on this bike was choked because of the dust
04:03 which it was taking.
04:05 So however we did the ride in around 45 hours, 46 minutes of the journey time and around
04:11 15 hours of rest time.
04:14 The total kilometers was around 3572 in order to reach.
04:18 So we started on June 14th, reached on June 16th and it was a very challenging journey
04:23 but it was successfully completed in order to achieve the international record on BMW
04:27 S1000RR.
04:28 It was the fastest motorcycle ride solo from Kanyakumari to Kashmir which is south of India
04:33 to north of India.
