00:00 In the most wide open World Cup in history,
00:04 Colombia and France were the last two teams to clinch quarterfinal spots
00:08 and join Spain, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Australia and England
00:13 to close the curtain on a breathtaking first two rounds down under.
00:18 Japan are the only previous World Cup champions remaining,
00:22 having climbed the winners podium in 2011.
00:25 Four-time champions United States,
00:27 who were gunning to become the first team to win three in a row,
00:31 but were sent spinning out of the tournament before the semi-finals
00:35 for the first time in history.
00:37 Fourth-ranked England would seem the favourite on Saturday against Colombia,
00:41 the lowest-ranked team in the Final Eight at 25,
00:44 but the Lionesses are without starlet Lauren James,
00:47 who saw red against Nigeria.
00:50 Yes, they have more big-game experience being the current reigning European champions,
00:55 With no James, it makes it all very much still to play for.
