00:00 Trump's legal team is bashing a proposed protective order that would prevent him from publicly
00:06 sharing evidence in his election interference case.
00:10 Quote, in a trial about first amendment rights, the government seeks to risk to restrict first
00:15 amendment rights.
00:16 Worse, it does so against its administration's primary political opponent during an election
00:21 season in which the administration, prominent party members and media allies have campaigned
00:27 on the indictment and proliferated its false allegations.
00:31 Congressman Michael Waltz serves on the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committee
00:35 and joins us now.
00:36 Congressman, good morning to you.
00:37 The president is pushing back really hard on this protective order.
00:40 He says that this would violate his first amendment rights.
00:43 Jack Smith says no, it won't.
00:45 He just wants to make sure Trump doesn't disclose any evidence.
00:48 So where do you come down on this?
00:52 You know, this is amazing.
00:55 The media and the left want to pretend like this isn't all occurring in the middle of
01:02 an election season.
01:03 They want to muzzle Trump at the same time President Trump's primary opponents, Biden
01:11 and the entire mainstream media are actually running on these indictments.
01:16 His President Trump's campaign opponents are campaigning on these indictments.
01:22 And he's supposed to say nothing.
01:24 It's nuts.
01:25 It's ridiculous.
01:26 And I'm glad he's pushing back.
01:28 You know, Congressman, the judge in the Trump Mar-a-Lago classified document case is obviously
01:33 demanding to know why the DOJ wants to use a grand jury from out of state.
01:37 Why do you think that is?
01:40 Well, because they're using a grand jury from D.C. where it is overwhelmingly pro Biden.
01:48 It's overwhelmingly Democrat.
01:49 It's one of the most liberal cities in the nation.
01:52 So I think they've got a, they've got a friendly operating environment here, much more friendly
01:57 than increasingly red Florida.
01:59 The other thing the special counsel is trying to do down in the Mar-a-Lago case is file
02:05 things under seal.
02:06 And this is a play right out of Adam Schiff's playbook.
02:09 You file it under seal, just like Schiff had the impeachment hearings down in his skiff.
02:15 And then you guys can't see it.
02:18 The American people can't see what's going on.
02:20 Witnesses can say one thing behind closed doors, but then go out and talk publicly and
02:26 say a different thing.
02:28 And then meanwhile, the Department of Justice leaks selective salacious details again against
02:35 the leading political opponent of Biden in the middle of a presidential campaign.
02:40 Fortunately, it looks like the judge in that case is pushing back.
02:43 I didn't even know you could use an out of state grand jury, but he sure is facing a
02:47 whole lot and possibly more charges to come down in Georgia.
02:51 Apparently they put up barricades outside the Fulton County courthouse.
02:54 So one can draw a conclusion as to what the future will look like there.
02:58 And in the meantime, let's talk about yesterday.
03:00 The 13 families, the gold star families who lost their loved ones during the horrific
03:05 withdrawal from Afghanistan.
03:07 They all testified together for the very first time, emotional, heart wrenching, very important
03:14 testimony.
03:15 Steve Nkouy, the father of Lance Corporal Kareem Nkouy, joined us earlier in the show.
03:19 And here's what he had to say.
03:21 Listen to this, Congressman.
03:22 I guess what we're doing now, you know, I think just just to have a recognition, you
03:28 know, to have our government say, look, we made a mistake.
03:32 These are their names.
03:33 We appreciate, you know, maybe a little what I explained before, just a recognition, because
03:39 inevitably the younger kids that are trying to enlist now, they're looking at these these
03:45 experiences and that our country has had.
03:47 And I wouldn't want to be a young man and go into this armed services with the withdrawal
03:53 of the evacuation fresh on my mind.
03:55 Yeah, the bravery of these families displayed the heartbreaking messages that they gave
04:00 yesterday was certainly something.
04:02 Congressman, two years later, where are we in this investigation into what happened?
04:07 Well, we're continuing to uncover more and more, despite some disgraceful, disgusting
04:15 stonewalling from this administration.
04:18 And I'm so glad that these families had a chance to have their say.
04:23 I give Representative Darrell Issa a lot of credit for holding that hearing.
04:28 Look, I've dealt with Gold Star families my entire career.
04:31 I've met with these families.
04:33 Of course, they're grieving, but I've never seen a level of anger that from families like
04:38 these.
04:39 They feel like they've been lied to.
04:41 They still have items missing from their loved ones that they haven't had access to.
04:45 They've heard nothing from President Biden.
04:48 They feel like he wants to sweep it all under the rug.
04:51 And as one father said yesterday, his son, his Marine said, be a grown ass man and own
04:57 your mistakes.
04:58 And that's what they're asking of Joe Biden.
05:00 Amen to that.
05:01 Congressman, we have to leave it there.
05:02 Thank you so much.
05:03 Fox and Friends starts right now.
