00:00 Hi, I'm Ravi Bhatnagar. I'm Director External Affairs and Partnerships at Rekit. It's my
00:09 privilege to work on the nutrition program which focuses on the first thousand days,
00:14 where for two years of life we focus on the women and the rest of the period we focus
00:22 on the kids. It's very interesting to see India's journey on nutrition and to see what
00:29 all programs are being undertaken by the Government of India, by the civil society. But still
00:35 a long way to go for the private sector. There's a lot of private sector engagement which is
00:40 required in terms of strengthening the health indicators, to strengthen the nutrition indicators,
00:46 to strengthen the nutrition sensitive interventions. Holistically, poverty is also a very important
00:53 dimension to be looked at and how we reach out to the last mile. The whole agenda of
01:00 India for defeating this nutrition issue should be basically leaving no one behind and to
01:06 have structural integration of the programs and the aspirational districts which are more
01:12 holistic in nature as well as which have a length in breadth to cover everyone and leaving
01:17 no one behind. I must tell you, nutrition is not a standalone subject. It needs to be
01:24 seen along with the health care, especially what's happening on the self-care. So is nutrition
01:32 a part of the self-care agenda? Self-care is a very integral part in the other geographies
01:38 like in the US, in the UK you have programs on the self-care. So how women can be more
01:44 motivated to self-care for them, for self-care for the kids. This is one dimension which
01:50 really needs to be added. And second dimension is actually utilizing the modern techniques
01:57 and tools to reach out to hard to reach areas so that each child can be covered and there
02:05 are no deaths arising out of SAM which is severely malnourished. India has gone a long
02:12 way in its progress. So I see the glass half full and I don't say like nothing has happened
02:21 in the last 10 years. There have been significant strides to make sure children get the access
02:28 and nutrition is a right and not just a privilege. And at Rekit we stand with that. We have a
02:33 purpose agenda and we think health care is a right and not a privilege. And the foundation
02:41 for that is basically the leadership traits which are very well defined in Rekit. One
02:47 of the leadership traits I would love to speak about is basically the leadership trait of
02:51 care. So we are all being focused on making sure we take care of the communities we operate
02:59 in the countries we work and there needs to be an integration of the national purpose
03:04 with company purpose and brand purpose. Until and unless this framework is utilized, I am
03:10 not sure we will be able to make any transformational change. And change will only happen when we
03:18 have the strong community engagement. We see community partners, development sector partners,
03:24 UN agencies, the beneficiaries, the right groups, everyone as our partners and very
03:31 important for our journey towards making India a country which is not struggling on the nutrition
03:38 indicators. We aim to reach to the three states now in this year. We started with Maharashtra
03:45 three years back. We are going to take our journey to the state of Gujarat followed by
03:49 the state of Rajasthan. And we will be working with those population groups where the life
03:56 expectancy is less, where the real problem lies. We will be working in the hot spots
04:04 and the whole intervention design will be based on nutrition sensitive intervention,
04:09 not the nutrition specific intervention. What does that mean? It means we will be working
04:15 on the aspects like kitchen gardens, we will be working on the first 1000 days, we will
04:20 be working on the breast feeding, we will be working on reducing the cases of the lactation
04:25 failure, we will be working on the health infrastructure strengthening like the nutrition
04:29 rehabilitation centres resulting into uptake of the services from the NRCs which is the
04:38 nutrition rehabilitation centres. And also the big aim is actually reducing the identification
04:45 and the treatment lag for all the cases. And the programme intends to reach out to 10 million
04:53 moms and a huge concept of self-care will also be embedded in the programme in the year
04:58 2022 and beyond. I wish all the best to Outlook and the leadership of Outlook who has been
05:03 continuously working with Reket and Plan India to launch the season 2.0 of Poshan. It's
05:12 very interesting to see the Vice President of India Honorable Venkaiah Naiduji has given
05:19 his consent and he is a part of our journey because he joined us in the earlier season
05:25 2.0. Last 18 months have been very difficult and to pull up a programme like this which
05:31 will be benefiting millions of kids across India is something which is very inspiring
05:37 to me personally and I wish whole team all the best. Thank you.
