00:00 Eddie Izzard here in Brighton. Brighton is a city at the forefront of change and I want
00:05 to help it to continue to make that change. Running marathons, raising money for great
00:10 causes and campaigning in more than 125 constituencies has taught me to turn struggles into success.
00:18 I'm standing to be the next Labour MP for Brighton Pavilion to support this brilliant
00:23 city and its diverse and vibrant community. I'm just the latest in over 200 years of
00:29 Izzards in East Sussex. I grew up in this county and I'm proud of my roots. Whilst
00:34 the Tories stoke fear and encourage culture wars, Brighton has shown the country another
00:40 way. Open-minded and welcoming to all, with a thriving arts, creative and cultural scene.
00:45 Imaginative, energetic and full of entrepreneurial spirit. But for 13 years, the Tories have
00:51 tried to drag us down. Police numbers cut, fewer dentists, doctors and nurses. A rail
00:57 network grinding to a halt and sewage dumping into the sea. Hiking the cost of everything
01:03 and holding Brighton back. And we all saw what happened under the recent Green Council.
01:08 House buildings stall whilst rubbish piled high in the streets. It will take practical
01:13 action, not protest, to fix what's broken. And to win this seat, Labour needs a candidate
01:18 that can inspire many thousands to become our friends and allies in the fight for a
01:23 fairer, greener, cleaner planet. Reaching out and lifting people up is at the heart
01:28 of my politics. I believe in making connections, not breaking connections. I believe that everyone
01:34 has the right to a fair chance in life. A great school that inspires kids to explore,
01:40 where no child sits hungry. Fulfilling jobs that don't just pay the bills, but offer
01:45 opportunity and pride. A well-funded national health service, freely available whenever
01:52 it's needed. Respectful and inclusive social care, centred in the communities where people
01:57 belong. And climate justice that protects our beaches, our beautiful south bounds and
02:02 in fact the whole world. So this is what I will fight for and more as your voice in Parliament.
02:08 So please join me. Get in touch, get involved and let's make Brighton Pavilion Labour again.
02:15 Thank you.
