00:00 One SoCal girls love for Taylor Swift
00:01 has been a nearly lifelong journey.
00:03 Thanks in part to an experience she
00:05 has had she was fighting for her life.
00:08 Eyewitness news reporter Christian
00:09 Cordero introduces us 14 year old
00:11 Chloe Carlson Torres spends her
00:12 time like most kids her age,
00:14 figuring out life before high school,
00:15 hanging out with friends and listening
00:17 to a lot of Taylor Swift. Any of
00:20 her music is kind of like kind
00:22 of like a teens life too,
00:23 especially Swift's sophomore album Fearless,
00:25 which she wrote as a teen and released
00:27 the year Chloe was born. It took on
00:30 a new meeting in 2013 when Chloe
00:32 was diagnosed with retinoblastoma.
00:33 She had a tumor in her eye.
00:36 Chloe spent her fifth birthday in and out
00:38 of chemo at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
00:40 Through the months she grew skeptical
00:42 of doctors, fluorescent lighting,
00:44 and she was about to go through
00:46 her very first breakup.
00:47 You could argue a really good one.
00:49 The treatment worked and a familiar
00:51 face wanted to celebrate and I was
00:53 just like in shock for a little bit.
00:56 I was just standing there staring at her.
00:58 Chloe had listened to Taylor Swift before,
01:00 during and after each hospital visit,
01:02 but that day she actually got to talk to her.
01:05 Chloe, that's amazing.
01:06 That's so cool.
01:06 Do you know how strong you are?
01:09 Do you feel like it's made you stronger?
01:11 Yeah, now like when I'm like thinking like,
01:13 oh, I have to do this like I'm just like,
01:16 well, I've done like a bigger
01:18 challenge before like this doesn't
01:20 really matter that much. She's going
01:21 on eight years cancer free and through
01:23 the years has gained a fan base of her
01:26 own. I'm a pianist from Canada.
01:29 And this one is one that someone
01:31 made for me to the hashtag.
01:33 Stay fearless.
01:34 Chloe launched a community of people
01:36 who can relate to and support her
01:38 cancer journey. It led Swift to
01:39 the hospital room that day.
01:41 Let me see, let me see.
01:43 Of course you can answer.
01:47 Look at that muscle and as Swift
01:49 begins her six shows to close out
01:51 the last city on the US portion
01:52 of her tour, you can bet Chloe
01:54 has fans going through each era,
01:56 knowing every word so often music
01:58 can help us heal our inner child,
02:00 but maybe the real gift isn't in
02:03 staying this little rather getting
02:05 to grow up in Glendora.
