00:03 There are a lot of differences between seals and sea lions,
00:14 and most of them are physical appearance.
00:16 So if you look at a seal and you look at a sea lion,
00:19 you're going to want to look for their ear flaps.
00:22 Seals are technically considered earless seals,
00:25 so they actually just have an opening
00:27 on their head that leads down into their ear canal.
00:30 Sea lions actually have a ear pinnae,
00:32 which is just a flap of skin right atop of their ear.
00:35 There's a variety of other smaller things.
00:43 Sea lions are much more flexible on land.
00:46 Whereas seals undulate to make themselves move,
00:49 they look kind of like a caterpillar, like a giant slug.
00:52 Whereas sea lions, they look much more graceful.
00:55 They can run pretty quickly on land,
00:57 and their back flippers can go underneath of their hips
00:59 to help them do that.
