00:00 I wonder if you've ever stopped to think about
00:04 what your life will look like five years from now.
00:08 You stop just to think about however old you are now,
00:13 add five years to it, and ask,
00:16 what do you think your life
00:18 is going to look like five years from now?
00:22 I wanna help you visualize,
00:23 and I'm gonna give you four different categories
00:26 to think about and try to project forward
00:28 what your life might look like.
00:30 We're gonna start with spiritually.
00:32 What will your life look like spiritually?
00:34 We're gonna ask,
00:35 what will your life look like relationally?
00:38 What will your life look like financially?
00:41 And what will you be like physically five years from now?
00:45 Let's start with your spiritual life,
00:47 and what is the trajectory of your spiritual life
00:51 saying about your future spiritual life?
00:54 For some of you might say,
00:56 based on what I'm doing now, five years from now,
00:58 I'll probably be closer to God than I ever have been before.
01:03 I'm gonna know more of His Word is dwelling in my heart.
01:07 I'm being directed by the Spirit of God.
01:09 My ministry, my impact is growing,
01:12 and I'm reaching more people,
01:14 and I'm becoming more like Jesus.
01:16 Five years from now, spiritually,
01:18 I'll probably have the peak, and it's gonna go even higher.
01:22 Or for some of you,
01:25 you're kind of hitting this spiritually right now.
01:28 Getting to church is kind of difficult for you.
01:31 Some of the old sins are creeping back up,
01:34 and five years from now,
01:35 you might be not doing as well spiritually.
01:39 You might've lost a little bit of faith.
01:41 You might've fallen back into some old patterns.
01:43 You might've become lukewarm.
01:46 You might've even drifted from God.
01:49 What do you think your life will look like
01:50 five years from now spiritually?
01:53 Let's talk about relationships.
01:55 We'll start with your friends,
01:56 and then maybe talk about family.
01:58 Friends, five years from now,
01:59 you're developing some great God-honoring friendships.
02:03 You're gonna be stronger.
02:04 You're sharpening one another.
02:06 You've got rich friendships,
02:08 or maybe you don't really have very good friends,
02:11 and those you have are a bad influence on you.
02:13 What will your friendships look like?
02:15 If you're married five years from now,
02:17 based on where you are,
02:19 you could be closer than you ever have been before.
02:23 You could have a level of intimacy in your marriage
02:25 that you didn't even know was possible,
02:29 or based on your trajectory,
02:31 you're continuing to struggle.
02:34 You don't even share your trust, your spouse.
02:37 You may be fighting to stay married.
02:39 Some of you, five years from now,
02:41 you will be divorced, and your marriage didn't make it.
02:44 Where will you be relationally five years from now?
02:47 Financially.
02:49 Some of you, based on your trajectory,
02:51 you're gonna be debt-free, baby.
02:53 No more student loan, no more car payment,
02:55 no more credit card payment.
02:57 You've got financial margin.
02:58 You're able to be more generous
03:00 than you ever have been before,
03:02 or others of you, you're gonna continue on the same path,
03:06 still live paycheck to paycheck.
03:08 Maybe the debt will grow.
03:09 Maybe the financial pressure will grow,
03:11 and you're gonna find yourself worse off
03:14 five years from now than you are right now.
03:17 Physically, where will you be five years from now?
03:22 The great news is, believe it or not,
03:24 even though you're five years older,
03:26 you actually can be stronger.
03:28 You can be healthier.
03:30 You can maybe become more energetic
03:33 and more healthy than you've ever been before,
03:36 or five years from now, you may be more tired,
03:40 more unhealthy, and lacking in energy.
03:44 I want you to just stop for a moment
03:45 in the big categories of life and ask yourself,
03:49 where do you think you'll be five years from now?
03:52 What do you think your life will look like?
03:55 I'm gonna tell you, for the most part, what it'll look like.
03:58 And I wanna acknowledge that there are some
04:00 external forces outside of our control,
04:03 so we can never be completely accurate in our predictions,
04:07 but for the most part, we can predict
04:09 with a high degree of accuracy
04:12 what your life will look like in five years.
04:14 Why?
04:15 Because the habits you have today
04:20 will shape who you become tomorrow.
04:24 Let me say it again.
04:25 The habits that you have today
04:28 will shape who you become tomorrow.
04:30 Somebody said that when you're born,
04:33 you'll look like your parents.
04:35 How many of you think you kind of look like your parents
04:37 when you're born?
04:38 When you're born, you look like your parents.
04:40 When you die, you look like your habits, right?
04:45 Because the way you're living today
04:48 shapes who you become tomorrow.
04:51 And you know it's true, because who you are today,
04:54 for the most part, is a reflection of the habits
04:58 and the lifestyle you lived five years ago
05:01 have been pointing to the person that you become today.
05:05 So for the most part, with some exceptions
05:08 based on external factors, for the most part,
05:12 the habits you have today will shape
05:14 who you become tomorrow.
05:17 The question I have for you is this.
05:19 Do you like the direction your habits are taking you?
05:23 Do you like the trajectory of your life
05:27 based on your current habits?
05:29 Because intentions do not determine direction.
05:34 No matter what you want, what you want
05:36 doesn't determine what you become.
05:39 Hope doesn't change your life alone.
05:42 Habits do.
05:44 And with that, let's pray together.
05:46 Father, we ask that today your Word
05:50 would inspire faith and hope
05:54 and the right habits to sow seeds of godliness
05:59 into our lives, that we could reap a harvest
06:03 of righteousness to honor you.
06:06 We pray, God, that you'll speak to us today
06:07 and we'll be different in your presence
06:09 and by the power of your Word, in Jesus' name.
06:11 We pray, and everybody said, amen and amen.
06:15 Let's look at the Word of God,
06:17 and the Word of God is living, it's active, it's powerful,
06:21 it's convicting, and it's gonna convict me and you today.
06:25 Galatians chapter six, the apostle Paul said this.
06:29 He said, "Do not be deceived."
06:32 Everybody say, "Don't be deceived."
06:34 Don't be deceived.
06:35 Type it in the comment section if you're watching online.
06:37 Type it in, "Do not be deceived."
06:38 God cannot be mocked.
06:40 Everybody say, "God cannot be mocked."
06:42 Don't be fooled, don't be deceived.
06:44 God cannot be mocked.
06:47 A man reaps what he sows.
06:52 Whoever sows to please their flesh,
06:55 that's our sinful nature, whoever sows to please the flesh,
06:59 from the flesh will reap destruction.
07:03 Whoever though sows to please not the flesh,
07:06 but to please the spirit,
07:07 from the spirit will reap eternal life.
07:11 Paul said, "Let us not become weary in doing good,
07:16 for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest
07:20 if we do not give up."
07:23 Scripture says, "Do not be deceived."
07:27 God cannot be mocked.
07:30 A very literal translation is, "Don't be stupid."
07:34 Paul's words are very, very strong.
07:36 And he's just simply giving us,
07:38 essentially giving us two options.
07:40 He says, "If you're sowing to the flesh,"
07:42 in other words, if you have habits or a lifestyle
07:46 that reflects your sinful nature,
07:48 from that you will reap destruction.
07:52 On the other hand, if you sow seeds or habits of the spirit,
07:57 you'll reap eternal life.
07:58 Destruction and death or eternal life and godliness.
08:03 If this seems heavy,
08:05 it's because it is.
08:09 Because it's true.
08:13 You reap what you sow.
08:16 Do you like the direction that your habits are taking you?
08:21 Do you like the harvest that's coming
08:25 because of the seeds that you're sowing?
08:29 Let's review where we've been today.
08:31 We're wrapping up the message series, "The Power to Change."
08:34 We'll go back to the very first week
08:36 and we learned a very important principle
08:39 that real and lasting change isn't behavior modification.
08:44 What is it?
08:45 It's spiritual transformation.
08:47 Type that in the comment section.
08:49 It's spiritual transformation.
08:52 If you just change the behavior,
08:55 but don't let God change the heart,
08:57 the behavior will come back.
08:58 Real and lasting change.
09:00 It's not just us trying to change,
09:02 it's spiritual transformation by the power of God.
09:06 In the first week, we started with identity.
09:09 Why do you do what you do?
09:12 Primarily, you do what you do
09:15 because of what you think of you.
09:18 We start with identity.
09:19 And so we've been building week over week over week
09:22 on the spiritual principles.
09:23 The first week we started with your spiritual who.
09:26 Who is it that God is calling you to be?
09:30 We start with identity.
09:31 If you wanna change what you do,
09:33 change how you think of you.
09:34 Then we looked at our spiritual why.
09:37 We don't just want to change
09:39 because we want to be more wealthy or be healthier.
09:43 We wanna change because we wanna honor God
09:46 with the way that we live.
09:47 We have a spiritual who, we have a spiritual why.
09:50 Then we looked at our spiritual what.
09:52 That's the habits.
09:53 And we answer the question.
09:54 Based on who you wanna become,
09:57 what one habit do you need to start?
10:00 And when we have the right habits
10:01 that reinforces the godly identity
10:04 that helps us to become more like Christ.
10:06 We have the spiritual who, the spiritual why,
10:08 the spiritual what, then we had our spiritual what not.
10:11 And that's the habits that we're going to remove.
10:13 Based on who you want to become,
10:15 what one habit do you need to stop
10:18 to get out of your life something that is not God honoring?
10:22 Last week, we looked at the spiritual how.
10:24 Remember, how do we change?
10:26 We're not trying.
10:28 What are we doing?
10:28 Help me out.
10:29 We're in training.
10:30 We're training for righteousness.
10:32 We're not trying to be righteous.
10:34 We train our bodies like an athlete
10:37 to become who God called us to become.
10:39 This week, we're gonna add to it the spiritual impact
10:42 to drive the final message home.
10:46 How you live will determine who you become.
10:50 And over time, the seeds that you're sowing today
10:55 will bring about a harvest in the future.
10:59 The habits you have today
11:02 will shape who you become tomorrow.
11:06 It's in the word of God.
11:08 It's from Galatians 6,
11:10 and I'll call it the laws of sowing and reaping.
11:15 They're laws.
11:16 The laws are always true.
11:19 They're established by God.
11:21 It's like the law of gravity.
11:23 If I fell off this platform,
11:25 the law says I fall down.
11:29 I'll never fall up.
11:30 Whoop, I just fell up.
11:31 You don't do that.
11:32 These are laws that are always true,
11:35 and I wanna give you the three laws of sowing and reaping.
11:39 Do you like the direction that your habits are taking you?
11:42 The first one is this.
11:44 Number one, law number one, is you reap what you sow.
11:48 Let's say it loud.
11:49 Number one, you reap what you sow.
11:51 Number two, let's say it loud,
11:53 you reap more than you sow.
11:56 You don't just reap what you sow,
11:58 but you reap more than you sow.
12:00 Number three, when do you reap?
12:03 Number three, you reap after you sow.
12:06 Let's say it loud.
12:07 Number one, you reap what you sow.
12:09 You reap more than you sow.
12:11 You reap after you sow.
12:13 Let's break 'em down one by one.
12:16 The first one we're gonna talk about is this.
12:19 You reap what you sow.
12:23 If you sow a certain type of seed,
12:26 you reap a certain type of a plant.
12:29 If you plant an apple seed, you get an apple tree,
12:34 you don't get grapes, right?
12:37 Very obvious, but it's important to understand.
12:39 You reap what you sow.
12:41 In other words, if you plant godly habits,
12:45 you'll reap godly outcomes.
12:48 And the opposite is true as well.
12:50 If you're living ungodly habits,
12:52 you'll reap ungodly outcomes.
12:55 In fact, Scripture says it in Hosea chapter 10, verse 13,
12:59 but you have planted what Scripture says.
13:02 You've planted wickedness, and so what did you reap?
13:05 You reaped evil.
13:07 You reap what you sow.
13:09 If your habits are always bad,
13:12 your harvest is not gonna be good.
13:15 If you're late to work every day,
13:18 and you got some half-hearted attitude of,
13:20 I wanna be promoted, I'm not doing anything,
13:22 and you got a bad attitude every day,
13:24 you're not likely to be promoted.
13:27 It's not because you weren't promotable,
13:31 it's because your habits didn't earn the attention
13:34 of those around you.
13:35 If you sow seeds of lust all the time,
13:38 and you look at porn, and you objectify women,
13:41 and you wonder why you don't have intimacy in your marriage,
13:44 it's not because your marriage isn't good,
13:45 it's because you sowed bad seeds,
13:47 and you're reaping a bad harvest.
13:49 Same with physically.
13:50 If you eat anything you want,
13:52 and you never, ever exercise,
13:54 and you drink a six-pack of beer every weekend,
13:57 and wonder why you don't have a six-pack here,
14:00 this is not a punishment, it's a harvest.
14:05 It's a result of what you planted.
14:09 So, if you reap what you sow, write this down,
14:13 if you don't like what you're reaping,
14:16 change what you're sowing.
14:19 Oh, this is good.
14:20 If you don't like what you're getting back,
14:22 look at what you're planting in the ground.
14:25 If you don't like it in your relationships,
14:27 look at the seeds you're sowing.
14:28 If you don't like it financially, look at how you're living.
14:31 If you don't like it spiritually,
14:32 look at what you're doing spiritually.
14:34 If you don't like what you're reaping,
14:36 change what you're sowing.
14:39 Principle number one is you reap what you sow.
14:44 Principle number two is you reap more than you sow.
14:49 Because when you sow, what does God do?
14:51 God multiplies it.
14:54 God multiplies it.
14:55 Scripture says it this way.
14:56 Jesus said this in Mark's Gospel, chapter four, verse 20.
15:00 "And the seed that fell on the good soil
15:03 "represents those who hear and accept God's word
15:07 "and produces a harvest of," what?
15:09 "And produces a harvest of 30, 60,
15:13 "or even a hundred times as much as had been planted."
15:18 One seed can reap a hundred times as much as was planted.
15:23 You plant a seed, you get a tree,
15:29 and the tree creates fruit,
15:32 and the fruit has more seeds,
15:35 and you can plant the seeds in the ground,
15:37 and you get more fruit from the trees
15:40 because you reap more than you sow.
15:45 This is true in every area of life.
15:47 You're nice to a lot of people, and they're nice back.
15:51 You walk in shooting the bird, people aren't nice back.
15:55 It's true in your marriage.
15:57 Amy multiplies.
15:59 She is a multiplier.
16:01 If I treat her with honor and cherish her and love her,
16:06 she loves me back way better than I ever deserved.
16:13 She multiplies.
16:15 If I give her a hard time,
16:17 she multiplies, and she gives me hell back
16:24 because you reap more than you sow.
16:28 She's laughing louder than anybody.
16:31 It's like, "Oh, she's sweet."
16:32 Yes, she is sweet until I'm not, okay?
16:34 And then you see how it goes.
16:36 I'll illustrate it with a book.
16:39 This is a book that,
16:42 one of the books that I have my kids read.
16:44 I have three sons-in-law,
16:47 and this is one of the books they read in training
16:50 to take the hand of my daughter.
16:52 It's a good book.
16:53 It's called "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy.
16:54 In one sentence, this is kind of summarizes
16:57 what he teaches in the book.
16:58 He teaches that small, smart choices
17:02 plus consistency plus time equals a radical difference.
17:07 I love this.
17:09 Small, smart choices plus consistency plus time
17:14 equals a radical difference.
17:18 And he tells a story of someone in there
17:22 that involves 125 calories both ways.
17:25 I'm going to tell that part of the story,
17:27 and then I'm going to add my own spiritual twist
17:30 to the story and bring you an illustration
17:32 about the same guy with two different scenarios.
17:37 Same guy, two different scenarios.
17:40 And we're going to start it with inconsistency in church
17:43 and consistency in church.
17:45 Scenario number one, the guy is inconsistent in church,
17:50 goes when it's convenient.
17:52 He feels a little guilty about that,
17:55 and then he stays up late feeling a little guilty.
17:57 He drinks a glass of wine every night.
17:59 He adds a second glass of wine to his ritual.
18:03 He's not close to God
18:05 because he's been drifting and feeling guilty.
18:07 And he slips back into looking at stuff
18:09 that he shouldn't look at.
18:11 He's inconsistent and it compounds into things
18:14 that he's not as proud of.
18:16 The other guy is consistent in church.
18:19 He's serving.
18:20 He goes to bed early.
18:23 He's really close to God.
18:24 He doesn't slip back into porn
18:26 because he's spiritually walking with God.
18:28 He reads his Bible and he's moving in the right direction.
18:32 There is almost no noticeable difference
18:35 between these two scenarios in the first week.
18:38 You couldn't tell.
18:39 A month, you can't tell.
18:41 A few months, you can barely tell.
18:44 At month 27, there is a measurable difference.
18:49 Some of what I'll tell you is subjective.
18:52 One thing is absolutely objective.
18:55 At 27 months, the guy who's been inconsistent,
18:59 he added a glass of wine,
19:01 which adds 125 additional calories.
19:06 For 27 months, that's 117,000 more calories.
19:11 And he will have gained 33 and a half pounds
19:15 simply adding one glass of wine.
19:19 He feels distant from God.
19:21 He loses confidence.
19:23 He struggles at work.
19:25 He's overlooked for his promotion.
19:27 He has more financial pressure at home.
19:30 His wife says he's distant and not paying attention.
19:32 He slips more into porn, which makes him more distant.
19:36 His wife catches him looking at porn
19:38 and he doesn't know what's gonna happen in his life.
19:42 And it all started with inconsistency.
19:44 Take the second one who is consistent in church.
19:48 He's serving.
19:50 He's closer to God than ever before.
19:52 And he heard every single week of the series,
19:55 the power to change.
19:57 And the habit he took out of his life was drinking wine
20:02 because it was unnecessary calories and didn't do anything.
20:05 And it made his teeth kind of red.
20:07 So he cut out 125 calories a day.
20:11 And over a 27 month period, he lost 33 and a half pounds.
20:19 He was no longer trying to be close to God.
20:22 He was in training to be close to God.
20:24 He was promoted at work.
20:25 He took the extra money and paid off debt.
20:28 They started to be more generous.
20:29 They got to go on a vacation.
20:31 Their marriage was more intimate than ever before.
20:33 They had a growing spiritual impact.
20:35 And it started with consistency in the things of God.
20:40 Some of that is obviously subjective that I made up.
20:43 The part about the weight is not.
20:46 67 pounds difference on 125 calories a day
20:51 over a 27 month period.
20:54 That alone explains the principle
20:58 that it's not what you do occasionally
21:00 that makes the difference.
21:01 It's what you do consistently.
21:05 It's small, consistent habits done over time
21:10 that equal either a positive result
21:13 or if you're planting the wrong kinds of seeds,
21:15 it equals a negative result.
21:17 If you don't like what you're reaping today,
21:22 change what you're sowing.
21:24 Because the bottom line is you reap what you sow.
21:30 You reap more than you sow.
21:34 And number three, you reap after you sow.
21:38 You reap after, you reap in a different season.
21:41 If you plant seeds in fall, you don't reap in fall.
21:45 You reap in spring.
21:46 And this is the very reason sometimes we get so discouraged.
21:50 The reason sometimes we get so discouraged
21:53 is because we don't see progress fast enough, right?
21:56 You pray every day for five straight days.
22:00 And at the end of five straight days,
22:02 you don't feel really that much different spiritually.
22:04 Where's the change?
22:06 Or you go to the gym every day for two weeks.
22:10 And at the end of going to the gym for two weeks,
22:11 you still can't run a whole mile.
22:13 People, what's wrong with me?
22:14 I'm doing the right thing.
22:16 Or you're paying off your debt.
22:18 And so you don't buy coffee all month long
22:22 and you save $100 to put toward your debt.
22:26 And now you don't owe $37,500 on your college loan.
22:31 You owe $37,400.
22:34 And you're going, this takes too long.
22:38 And we wrongly conclude
22:41 that small decisions don't matter that much.
22:45 But we have to understand that for the most part,
22:48 our lives are the sum total
22:52 of all the small decisions that we make.
22:57 Because in every action you take,
23:01 you're choosing direction.
23:03 It's not intentions that determine direction.
23:07 It's the habits and the way that you live your life.
23:12 So,
23:13 who do you wanna become?
23:19 What type of person do you wanna be?
23:25 Why do you wanna be that?
23:27 I pray that you spend enough time in God's presence
23:35 that you know the who that he wants you to be.
23:39 And it's not a selfish why,
23:43 but it's a spiritual why.
23:46 And so based on who you wanna become,
23:51 what habit do you need to start?
23:54 And based on who you wanna become,
23:57 what one habit do you need to stop?
24:00 And then we're not gonna try to be better,
24:02 I'm gonna try to be, no, no, we're in training.
24:04 We're in training.
24:07 We're training our bodies for righteousness.
24:09 We're training our minds to think on the Word of God.
24:12 Because what we plant, we will reap.
24:18 The way that we're living today will impact
24:24 who you become, what you have,
24:27 what kind of difference you can make,
24:29 how you feel on the inside,
24:31 how you impact people.
24:34 On the outside.
24:35 So are we successful if we finally hit the goal
24:42 five years from now?
24:44 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
24:47 We don't have to wait till then.
24:49 We don't judge the success of the day
24:54 by the harvest that we reap,
24:56 but by the seeds we sow.
25:01 We're sowing righteousness.
25:04 We're sowing righteousness.
25:06 We're small, consistent, God honoring living,
25:11 added up over time, equals a harvest of righteousness,
25:16 equals relationships that honor God,
25:22 equals a ministry and a legacy,
25:25 something that you can be proud of,
25:28 equals financial strength and generosity,
25:33 equals a God honoring body,
25:37 the best of what He gives us,
25:39 honoring Him with wise choices
25:42 so we can live for His full glory in all that we do.
25:46 Do not be deceived.
25:50 God cannot be mocked.
25:55 You reap what you sow,
25:58 and you reap more than you sow,
26:02 and you reap after you sow.
26:07 So if you don't like what you're reaping,
26:11 change what you're sowing.
26:14 And when you consistently and faithfully honor God
26:19 with wise decisions,
26:21 and you let Jesus lead you and empower you
26:24 to God honoring habits, your hard work,
26:27 and your disciplines, and your sacrifices,
26:30 and your faithfulness, they're not being wasted.
26:34 They're being stored up.
26:37 Think of it this way.
26:38 Think of it like hot water.
26:40 You start to put some heat on water,
26:43 and what does the water do?
26:44 The water warms up slowly.
26:46 It warms up to 80 degrees,
26:49 and then a little more fire, it gets hotter,
26:51 and it warms up to 140 degrees,
26:54 and it gets a little hotter,
26:55 and it warms up to 180 degrees,
26:58 and then it warms up to 200 degrees,
27:01 and then to 104 degrees, and then to 205,
27:04 at 211 degrees, what do you have?
27:07 Really hot water?
27:09 But when it warms up one more degrees to 212 degrees,
27:14 what do you have?
27:15 You have a boiling hot bowl of water.
27:20 What happens when you live faithfully for Jesus over time?
27:24 The fire of God starts to burn within your soul,
27:27 and one day you're burning, one day you're on fire,
27:30 one day you're reaping a harvest of righteousness,
27:33 and people look on you, wow, wow, wow.
27:35 You are an overnight success.
27:38 No!
27:40 You weren't an overnight success.
27:41 They look on, oh, you just were lucky.
27:43 You were born into the right, but you weren't lucky.
27:46 You were faithful.
27:48 You were consistent all the year.
27:50 What they will never ever see
27:52 is they'll never see you renewing your mind
27:54 with righteousness, and they'll never see you
27:56 overcoming self-doubt and praying and praying and praying
28:00 and fasting and seeking God and depending on Him,
28:03 and when you're weak, depending on Him,
28:05 and repenting of sin and falling down
28:08 and getting back up again in the early mornings
28:11 and the late nights and enduring criticism,
28:13 because when you start doing something good,
28:15 all of a sudden people show up to tear you down,
28:17 and you do the right thing, and you grind it out,
28:20 and you're faithful, and you're persistent,
28:22 and you're consistently faithful in the small things,
28:27 because it's the things that no one else sees
28:31 that brings about the results everybody wants.
28:36 You're planting seeds.
28:37 You're planting seeds, and God is watering it,
28:42 and over time, you reap a harvest of righteousness.
28:46 I came to tell somebody, don't give up.
28:50 Don't stop planting.
28:53 Don't stop sowing.
28:54 Don't stop believing.
28:56 Don't stop renewing your mind.
28:58 Don't stop turning back to God.
29:00 Let us not become weary in doing good,
29:04 for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest
29:09 if we do not give up.
29:13 It's not easy.
29:14 (congregation applauding)
29:17 It won't be overnight,
29:18 but you will reap a harvest of righteousness
29:26 for the glory of God
29:28 if you do not give up.
29:31 So if you ever stop to think about
29:36 what will your life be like five years from now,
29:39 because when you're born, you look like your mama,
29:44 and you're your dad,
29:45 but when you die, you look like your habits.
29:48 Do you like the direction that your habits are taking you?
29:53 If you don't like what you're reaping,
29:56 change what you're sowing.
29:58 Plant the right seeds, the right habits,
30:02 faithfully over time, and God's principles are true.
30:05 You will, you will, you will, you will
30:10 reap a harvest of righteousness.
30:14 If you don't give up.
30:15 So God, we pray that no matter what types of seeds
30:22 we planted in the past, you would give us the wisdom,
30:27 the courage, the faithfulness to plant godly seeds today.
30:31 As you're praying today at all of our churches,
30:35 those of you who would say,
30:37 I want a harvest of righteousness,
30:39 I want a harvest of righteousness,
30:40 God, help me to plant the right seeds,
30:44 help me to have the right habits today.
30:47 If you wanna pray that, more importantly,
30:49 if you wanna live that,
30:50 would you lift up your hands right now?
30:51 Just lift up your hands.
30:52 Online, just type it in the chat,
30:54 God, help me to plant the right seeds.
30:57 God, help me to plant the right seeds.
30:59 Father, we just ask that in your presence,
31:02 we thank you for your grace,
31:03 we thank you for your forgiveness.
31:06 God, show us any area of our lives
31:11 where our habits are taking us away from you.
31:14 Give us the wisdom, God, give us the courage to admit it,
31:19 to confess it, and to plant seeds of righteousness.
31:24 God, based on who you want us to become,
31:26 show us what one habit you want us to start,
31:30 what one habit you want us to stop.
31:32 God, help us to train to become who you want us to be.
31:36 And God, we thank you for your laws of faithfulness,
31:39 that we know we will reap what we sow.
31:41 We wanna sow righteousness, we'll reap more than we sow,
31:43 we want more righteousness, and we'll reap after we sow.
31:46 God, we know that we'll reap a harvest of righteousness
31:49 when we don't give up.
31:50 God, give us patience, give us endurance, give us courage
31:54 to do the right things, even when nobody's looking,
31:56 maybe especially when nobody's looking.
31:58 God, help us to plant seeds of righteousness
32:02 for a life that would honor you.
32:04 As you keep praying today,
32:08 the greatest seed ever planted, the greatest gift,
32:13 was when God so loved the world
32:16 that he gave his one and only son, Jesus.
32:22 Who is Jesus?
32:23 The perfect, sinless son of God,
32:27 who became the innocent sacrifice
32:29 for the forgiveness of our sins.
32:31 When you look at your life and you take an objective,
32:34 kind of honest look, you have to admit,
32:36 you've done some things you're ashamed of,
32:39 embarrassed by, you feel guilty for.
32:41 Scripture calls those things sin.
32:44 We're missing the mark of holiness.
32:46 And all of us, every single one of us,
32:49 we've all fallen short of God's standard, we've all sinned.
32:53 Jesus, the only one who was without sin,
32:56 died in our place.
32:57 He was buried and God raised him from the dead.
33:00 We could say that the seed was planted
33:03 and now could create a harvest of righteousness
33:06 because of his one life given,
33:08 your life could be changed forever,
33:11 wherever you're watching from, no matter what you've done,
33:13 no matter how bad your life has been,
33:15 when you call on his name, he forgives your sins
33:18 and he makes you brand new.
33:20 And you trust him with your life
33:22 and he will fill you with the power of his Holy Spirit
33:25 and you become completely new wherever you are.
33:27 Those of you who say, I need his grace,
33:29 I need his forgiveness, today I step away from my old life
33:32 and by faith I give my life to him.
33:34 Today I trust him, I surrender.
33:36 Jesus, I give you my life.
33:37 When you do, he hears your prayers, he forgives your sins,
33:40 he makes you brand new, wherever you are.
33:42 Those who say, yes, today I call on him,
33:44 I surrender my life.
33:46 Jesus, I give you my life, it's your prayer.
33:48 Lift your hands high right now.
33:49 All the other place, lift them up and say yes.
33:50 Praise God for you guys, both of you there.
33:52 Oh my gosh, come on somebody, let's worship God.
33:55 Others of you today who say yes, both of you right here,
33:57 we praise God for you saying yes, Jesus.
34:00 Oh, come on, we worship you God.
34:02 Online, you can just type in the comment section,
34:05 I'm surrendering my life to Jesus.
34:08 I'm surrendering, just type that in the comment section.
34:10 We're all gonna plant a seed of faith today in this prayer.
34:14 Pray, heavenly Father.
34:16 Forgive all of my sins.
34:18 Jesus, save me.
34:20 Make me brand new.
34:22 Fill me with your spirit.
34:24 So I can know you.
34:26 And serve you with all of my life.
34:31 Help me to plant seeds of righteousness.
34:35 To have a harvest that honors you.
34:39 A life that brings you glory.
34:42 My life is not my own.
34:44 I give it all to you.
34:45 Thank you for new life.
34:47 You have all of mine.
34:49 In Jesus' name I pray.
34:51 Somebody worship God.
34:52 Somebody thank him for his grace, for his goodness,
34:54 for salvation, for life in Christ.
34:56 Come on church, thank God today.
34:58 (congregation applauding)
35:02 [APPLAUSE]
