00:07 The President himself came to the opening ceremony and he cried for the young athletes.

00:15 Despite the tough times, the game and the fight for more than 7,000 athletes of the national team 2023 continues.

00:32 These are the people who came to the opening ceremony of the game for the national team 2023.

00:37 The Vice President and the Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte came to the opening ceremony.

00:42 More than 11,000 delegates from 17 regions of the country came to the Marikina Sports Center.

00:48 Some local officials also came to support their athletes.

00:52 Yesterday, it rained but it stopped for almost 2 hours. They stayed together to celebrate the ceremony.

00:59 But here, the delegates are lazy and they will force to finish all the games in 34 events including 4 Paralympic events.

01:07 Well, we are anticipating delays in some of the outdoor events.

01:12 But our tournament directors are making adjustments in the schedule so that we can finish them on time for the closing on August 5.

01:20 In his speech, the President encouraged all to continue to promote sports to the youth.

01:25 I assure you that this government remains steadfast in developing the prowess of our young athletes and in championing their well-being.

01:36 This administration believes in the transformative power of sports, not only in improving one's strength and agility, but also in building up character and discipline.

01:49 According to the organizer of the National Games 2023, they will meet in 10 hospitals here in Marikina City for free medicine in case of illness while the games are being held.
