00:00 At first, you'd want to question if any dog breed can fight against wild animals.
00:09 However, believe it or not, some dogs can put wild animals down.
00:14 In fact, past encounters between the pair have taught some wild animals to steer clear
00:18 of these dog breeds.
00:20 In the past, attempts were made to breed dogs with traits such as intelligence, strength,
00:25 speed, and a keen sense of smell to help herd sheep and keep blocks away from predators.
00:30 The result?
00:31 Breeds of dogs that evolved to do more than just that.
00:35 I'm talking about dogs that have been bred to hunt and guard against wild animals, assist
00:39 in police and military work, and on other days, make your heart melt with their silly
00:45 acts.
00:46 What dog breeds could these be?
00:48 Stick around to find out.
00:50 Hello and welcome to another episode of Forever Green.
00:53 And if you happen to have a dog breed listed as our number one, you've not only got yourself
00:57 a dog that can match the lion for size, but for power.
01:01 Let's dive in.
01:02 20.
01:03 Kangal
01:12 We start off today's video with a dog that isn't scared of anything, really.
01:17 Few dog breeds in the world can be regarded as the ultimate guard dogs.
01:21 Dogs that have no problem taking on any wild animal, and when I say any, I mean any.
01:26 And the Kangal is one of such dog breeds.
01:33 They possess immense size, strength, and tenacity to kill a wolf to protect their flock or owner.
01:38 They're dogs that have a history that goes way back.
01:43 Possessing a launching force of a Ferrari and one of the highest bite forces known to
01:47 any dog breeder, these guys can take on any wild animal with ease.
01:52 Kangal vs. wolf?
01:53 Bring it on.
01:55 Kangal vs. snakes?
01:56 Piece of cake.
01:57 How about taking on a grizzly?
01:59 Any time.
02:00 These guys are totally fearless and would do anything to keep wild animals away.
02:06 Their intimidating appearance is warning enough for any intending assailant.
02:18 19.
02:19 Bagyari Kata
02:22 The Bagyari Kata dog looks like the German Shepherd at first glance, but these dogs that
02:27 originated from Pakistan are arguably better guard dogs than their Western counterparts.
02:33 They are bad business for any wild animal that looks at prey or any livestock they guard.
02:47 The Bagyari Kata is believed to have been a result of a crossbreed between a wild Pakistan
02:53 wolf and a domestic dog, hence the name Bagyari Kata, with Bagyari meaning wolf and Kata translating
02:59 to dog.
03:02 These dogs are definitely doing their wolf ancestors proud by showing the strength and
03:06 courage the wolves have shown over the years.
03:08 These dogs have suffered some undue criticisms in the past and are regarded as one of the
03:13 most underrated breeds in the world.
03:17 Nonetheless, these dogs are being trained to be excellent guard or shepherd dogs and
03:22 are so good at their jobs, many prefer to call them the Pakistani Shepherd Dog, I prefer
03:27 to call them PSD for short.
03:29 With these dogs standing guard, you could visit the grocery store and be rest assured
03:34 that they would see to it that your livestock doesn't go astray or be attacked by any
03:38 predator.
03:45 18.
03:46 Caucasian Shepherd If you ever find yourself in cold, snowy woods,
03:53 one companion you should take with you is the Caucasian Shepherd Dog.
03:56 Not only are they well adapted for such harsh weather conditions, but they can also be your
04:02 savior when wolves try to attack you.
04:11 These big fluffy pooches aren't all cute and cuddly as they would do whatever it takes
04:15 to protect their owners, even if it means attacking a wolf.
04:20 They are fierce protectors, just as they are friendly playmates when appropriately trained.
04:26 This breed has successfully chased away grizzlies and wolves for centuries.
04:36 There was a time this dog wasn't at hand to foil the wolf attack which eventually led
04:41 to the loss of some sheep.
04:43 The Caucasian Shepherd got back and furiously went after the wolf that had done this to
04:48 give him a taste of his own medicine.
04:50 Such a teacher!
04:56 17.
04:57 Rhodesian Ridgeback The African Lionhound, as they are often called,
05:04 didn't earn that name for any wild animal to attack their owners or livestock.
05:09 These strong-willed and confident hunting dogs are way better than your everyday guard
05:14 dog.
05:15 They are as fast as an athlete and very smart.
05:18 This means you don't have to wait for your command to snuff out any threat.
05:23 Their incredible speed, which comes from their awesomely athletic body, enables them to approach
05:28 wild animals from afar or chase them as far as possible.
05:32 More so, they are aggressive types of dogs with strong personalities.
05:37 Their combination of strength, excellent scent-tracking ability, courage, and agility makes them capable
05:42 of taking down and tracking wild animals.
05:46 16.
05:49 Bloodhound When it comes to hunting with a keen sense
05:54 of scent, bloodhounds are right up there with the best.
05:57 In the past, bloodhounds were bred to track wild boar, deer, and even people.
06:03 Nowadays, their talents are being employed in the military and police work.
06:09 While it could be said that bloodhounds are the fiercest dog breed out there, their incredible
06:13 sense of smell could detect a wild animal from a distance away and alert its owners
06:18 of any impending danger.
06:20 This is one dog that will alert if you are in any form of trouble, more like an alarm
06:25 system to guard against danger.
06:28 And to top it all off, their strong tracking instinct can come in handy if you decide to
06:32 go after any wild animal.
06:35 15.
06:36 Commodore With a coat that looks a lot like that of
06:42 a sheep, these pups could patiently wait in ambush for any wolf to try attacking the flock.
06:48 Commodore are ancient guard dogs that have been trusted for centuries to keep livestock
06:53 and home safe.
06:55 They may look like walking mopsticks, but they aren't some ragdoll or cuddly bunny any
07:01 predator can take on, except for maybe a polar bear.
07:04 They would guard against any wild animal or intruder.
07:07 Check out the size of this guy, he's not letting any sheep get away.
07:12 These agile, intelligent, and highly spirited dogs won't let any predator get past them.
07:17 If you think these dogs are brave, our number one pick will surely blow your mind.
07:23 14.
07:25 Bull Terrier What do you get when you cross a bulldog with
07:29 a terrier?
07:30 You get a breed that has the dexterity and speed of the terrier with the fierce tenacity
07:34 of the bulldog.
07:37 These fearless dogs can take on anything from wild boars to even tigers, look at him go.
07:45 They're strong, responsive, intelligent, alert, energetic, and aggressive towards any threat.
07:51 These daredevil dogs may not be the biggest dog breeds in the world, but their unwavering
07:55 bravery means they can take on animals several times their size.
08:00 A bull terrier would put his life on the line to safeguard his owner's life and property.
08:05 They along with the Gull Terrier and the Bully Cutter of Pakistan are some of the bravest
08:11 dog breeds around.
08:13 13.
08:16 Alibi Dog Three words that come to mind when the alibi
08:21 dog is mentioned are strong, independent, and loyal.
08:25 Also known as the Central Asian Shepherd Dogs, which originated from Central Asia, are the
08:31 oldest existing dog breed.
08:33 They are shepherd dogs, watchdogs, and dog fighters all wrapped into one.
08:45 They are called "Voldakov", which means "wolf crusher", for their immense strength and natural
08:51 tenacity to guard against wolves or predators.
08:54 In fact, the Russian President Vladimir Putin once had an alibi dog to show how trusted
09:00 these dog breeds are in safeguarding life and property.
09:04 In a 1v1 battle with a wolf, they would comfortably defeat the wolf, matching them for size and
09:09 strength.
09:10 They would die protecting their owners against wild animals.
09:19 12.
09:23 Bully Cutter As the name hints on, this dog breed is one
09:29 hell of a bully, tearing down anything that stands in the way of the safety of its owner
09:34 or livestock they watch over.
09:36 There's been quite a debate as to how this breed came to be, with some sources claiming
09:41 that they were first bred in India.
09:43 In contrast, others believe they originated from Pakistan, and the latter being the truer
09:48 of both theories.
09:49 Currently, they are mostly found in Pakistan, where they take safeguarding their owners
09:54 very seriously.
09:55 I know I might have said that the "Bully" in "Bully Cutter" shows how much of a bully
10:00 these dogs are, but actually, their name is gotten from the word "Boli", which means
10:06 heavily wrinkled.
10:08 As they are sometimes called, the "Beast of the East" are strong, aggressive dogs that
10:12 are bred for hunting and fighting.
10:18 11.
10:24 Belgian Malinois Being a dog breed predominantly used as a
10:29 working dog in the military and police, the Belgian Malinois is one dog breed that would
10:35 definitely tear into any wild animal that tries to attack its owner or livestock.
10:41 These brilliant, active, and versatile dogs are capable of carrying out some high-level
10:46 actions, and it could all be on their owner.
10:52 These can be used for a couple of things apart from just a guard dog.
11:03 You could train your Mali to perform search and rescue, sniffing detection work, personal
11:08 protection, and as a family pet.
11:12 While some other dogs may be scared to attack a wild animal, the Belgian Malinois wastes
11:17 no time in taking the beast down.

11:37 content.
11:38 10.
11:40 German Shepherd There are a couple of things this breed has
11:45 in common with the likes of the Belgian Malinois and the Baguiari Kutter.
11:50 Build, appearance, certain traits, and no doubt the same zero tolerance for any assailant,
11:56 wild animals, or humans.
11:58 German Shepherd dogs were first bred primarily to be guard dogs.
12:08 Because they are fearless and self-confident, they will assertively stand their ground and
12:13 fight off any threat.
12:14 Like for instance, this little Spitz was attacked by a coyote.
12:19 But luckily, his German Shepherd friend swoops in and attacks the coyote from behind.
12:25 They can as well as beat up wolves like some ragdoll.
12:29 9.
12:32 Great Pyrenees When this bear decided to have some mutton
12:43 for lunch, he had no idea they were under the protection of a Great Pyrenees.
12:47 The Great Pyrenees shows up and tells the bear to look elsewhere for its lunch.
12:53 These guys are famed for their enormous size and ferocity while on guard.
12:57 They've been a protector of the flock from wolves and bears from way back.
13:01 Nothing scares them when it comes to ensuring the safety of the flock or their owners.
13:06 They are powerful, alert, strong, beautifully graceful dogs that have the right mix of calmness
13:12 and ferocity.
13:13 Sometimes, they even make sure no intruder leaves until you get back home or the guys
13:20 from animal control.
13:21 "Coyote, I just wanna go home.
13:23 I promise you'll never see me again."
13:26 Great Pyrenees, the only place you're going is behind bars, you thieving punk.
13:35 8.
13:39 Bull Arab If you ever need to go wild boar hunting,
13:45 the one dog you should have with you is the Arab Bull.
13:49 They were developed in the 1970s by crossing a couple of dog breeds such as the Bull Terriers,
13:54 German Shorthaired Pointer, and the Greyhound.
13:58 Their sole purpose was to do the heavy lifting involved in wild pig hunting by chasing down
14:03 the pigs and pinning them by the ear.
14:06 They are large and muscular dogs.
14:08 In addition to this, they make for good watchdogs and would alert you when they sense something
14:13 is off.
14:18 7.
14:23 Rottweiler A born guard dog, these guys have enjoyed successes
14:29 in the police, military, doing some personal work, and being the family protector.
14:35 These are alert, highly intelligent, and come off as fearless creatures.
14:39 They have strong, powerful jaws that were primarily used for hunting wild boars.
14:45 Rottweilers are also confident, loving, loyal, and can defend their owner against wild animals
14:50 if needed.
14:51 No one or animal can come dangerously close to its family.
14:56 And when this coyote got too close to its territory, he was soon sent packing.
15:01 They have the tenacity to be quick and full of energy.
15:04 Taking on a wild animal would be easy.
15:12 6.
15:15 Pit Bull How many dog breeds do you know that can
15:21 stand up to a tiger like this?
15:23 Apparently this pit bull can, albeit the tiger being locked in a cage.
15:28 The pit bull was fearlessly challenging to a duel.
15:32 Pit bulls are known for such bravery, and this is why they are one breed wild animals
15:38 don't want to cross.
15:40 They have a history of baiting bulls by biting and dragging them about the head.
15:46 Such bad reputations still precede these dogs, as many are scared to have an encounter with
15:50 one.
15:52 Very muscularly built, brave, loyal, powerful, independent, and relentless, a pit bull never
15:58 backs down from a fight.
16:01 Especially when it has to do with safeguarding his owner.
16:06 They're not much of a shepherd dog though, so I wouldn't suggest charging them with keeping
16:10 your livestock safe.
16:16 5.
16:21 Boa Boal Next, we've got a breed from South Africa
16:27 that was bred to keep the homestead safe from leopards, hyenas, lions, and all manners of
16:32 wild animals, as well as working the farm.
16:36 They were even used in dog fights.
16:38 These large muscular dogs are confident, quiet, courageous, and extremely protective.
16:44 Boa Boals are a member of the mastiff family with dog tails and one with the most agility.
16:51 Well, they also don't like to have black bears around.
16:57 In all, when you own one of these pooches, you can totally depend on it to defend you
17:03 if you encounter a wild animal.
17:10 4.
17:14 Cane Corso Over in Italy, the protector-in-chief is
17:20 the Cane Corso.
17:22 This Italian mastiff breed serves as a personal protector, tracker, law enforcement agent,
17:27 and guard dog.
17:29 They are well muscled and less muscular than their cousins, the Neapolitan Mastiff, and
17:35 every other mastiff breed.
17:37 Cane Corso boasts of tremendous strength, alertness, intelligence, and a majestic appearance.
17:51 These guard-cum-hunting dogs always take their guarding duties very seriously.
17:58 Always on the lookout for the first sign of trouble, you'll find them barking as soon
18:01 as they notice something's off.
18:09 For a dog breed to hunt wild boar, they fiercely guard their families and will most definitely
18:15 protect you against wild animals and stay there till their last breath.
18:21 3.
18:22 Bacawal Dog This is a lovely and ancient breed of dog
18:28 of Indian origin.
18:30 The Bacawal dog is a working dog found across the Pir Panjal range of India, Afghanistan,
18:36 and Pakistan.
18:38 It was first bred by the Bacawal and Gujar nomadic tribes to serve as a guardian dog
18:45 and settlement protector.
18:47 Nowadays, it is used by the Indian police service to catch militants across the country.
18:52 Bacawal dogs are believed to have descended from the cross of the Tibetan Mastiff and
18:57 the Indian Pariah dog.
19:00 You could see the resemblance, right?
19:02 Their stellar work ethic has made it hard for wild animals to attack the livestock they
19:06 protect and militants that want to attack villages.
19:10 This has led to them being victims of attacks from wild animals and even the militants.
19:19 2.
19:23 Dogo Argentino Dogo Argentino is a huge muscular type of
19:31 dog breed with one hell of a bite force.
19:34 They are bred to hunt big games like puma, wild boar, and the likes.
19:40 They are often regarded as pack hunting dogs.
19:42 Therefore, they could work as a group to hunt their prey together with other members of
19:46 their species.
19:47 On their own, a Dogo Argentino can take on a black bear, wild boar, cougar, leopard,
19:54 puma, and the likes.
19:55 They show tremendous strength, intelligence, and are swift to act.
19:59 Because they are hunting animals, they have a powerful and excellent lung capacity and
20:04 never tire out easily.
20:08 1.
20:11 Tibetan Mastiff How could we make a list of dog breeds that
20:17 could defeat wild animals without including this top dog?
20:21 They can weigh between 45 and 72 kilograms and reach heights of around 0.83 meters.
20:28 That's just a few centimeters shy of the average height of a lion.
20:31 Pretty impressive, huh?
20:33 They have quite a majestic mane themselves.
20:35 The guardians of Tibet.
20:37 As I would like to call them, are strong, resilient, intelligent guardian dogs that
20:42 are believed to take down any animal, even a tiger.
20:46 Their powerful jaw strength and massive size are added advantages to this breed.
20:51 Coupled with their ability to withstand the harshest weather conditions, these guys are
20:55 quite a formidable opponent for any assailant.
21:04 How many dog breeds do you think can win a food competition with wolves and win?
21:09 We've come to the end of another awesome time here.
21:12 If you were to pick only three dog breeds in this video to make your ultimate protector
21:16 dog team, which ones are you choosing?
