00:02 "Full Circle" is a very comprehensive portrait
00:06 of New York City.
00:07 I definitely think New York feels like another character
00:10 in the project.
00:11 It's very authentic.
00:12 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:15 I've lived in New York for 30 years.
00:21 There is something about New York City
00:23 that is going to add a uniqueness.
00:26 They live in a pretty swish part of town, the Browns.
00:29 Very proximate to Washington Square Park.
00:32 The whole operation happens right here in Little Guyana.
00:36 It's a heavily Indian-African population.
00:39 That in itself is a marker.
00:41 There's a lot of livelihood, a lot of Caribbean culture
00:44 living and flourishing in that Queens area.
00:46 So they can negotiate very well within the parameters
00:50 of this Little Guyana environment.
00:53 We shot a lot in Washington Square Park.
00:55 It was just full of life.
00:57 The park is central to the story.
01:00 There's something about the chaos of New York
01:03 and the anonymity.
01:05 There could be 100 people around,
01:07 because in New York City, there's
01:09 always 100 people around.
01:11 Stephen was eager to explore many different nooks
01:15 and crannies of this place.
01:18 I'm like, wow, we're really driving
01:20 in the heart of Manhattan.
01:22 We're really here.
01:23 We're not at a production stage trying to fake the taxi cabs.
01:26 These are real taxi cabs.
01:27 These are real cops and real ambulances going around.
01:30 You didn't happen to be in the alley behind Gemini's lounge
01:32 the other night, did you?
01:33 Shooting on location in general, as an actor,
01:35 gives you so much to work with.
01:37 When shooting full circle, we haven't
01:38 been shooting in a stereotypical Times Square Fifth Avenue.
01:42 No, it's been Queens and Liberty Avenue.
01:45 And that's real.
01:47 Do you know what I'm saying?
01:48 It's not airbrushed.
01:51 I hear you was running late, Louis, which
01:54 means you lied to me on the phone.
01:57 I think it's authentic.
01:58 We were in Little Guyana.
02:00 You could see it was mainly people of that descent.
02:03 It's wonderful to come here as an Indo-Caribbean
02:05 and hear my own accent and meet some of my own people.
02:09 Why are you giving me this?
02:10 Because you earned it.
02:11 You're the only one who earned it.
02:13 As a result, it's been one of the most liberating and freeing
02:17 and enjoyable experiences these last four months.
02:19 I've loved it.
02:21 New York City has an energy where people are really
02:23 mixed together.
02:25 And it is also visually beautiful.
02:27 All these elements that I don't think
02:29 necessarily exist in all places.
