00:33 I'm absolutely delighted to welcome you

00:35 to the fourth Outlook Business Leading

00:37 Edge for, by, and of CEOs.

00:41 Outlook Business Leading Edge is a peer learning platform

00:45 for sharing with and learning from each other.

00:48 Life and leadership lessons, business trips and trends,

01:00 As we all know, slowdown is the word

01:02 that's echoing in the market, not just in India,

01:05 but across the globe.

01:07 And there is a question in everyone's mind,

01:09 how serious is it?

01:13 And true to the Outlook spirit of Hatspa,

01:16 which means audacity, boldness, guts in Hebrew,

01:20 we are daring to post an idea.

01:22 If every cloud has a silver lining,

01:24 then every slowdown has an upside.

01:27 In 1995, New York Times ran a story,

01:31 Why Wall Street Cheers on Economics Slips.

01:36 It was about how Wall Street investors broke out

01:38 the champagne to celebrate on economic slowdown.

01:43 The report was on a widely held Wall Street belief

01:46 that without a slowdown, the Fed would

01:49 be forced to push the interest rates up

01:51 at such painful high levels that it would finally and certainly

01:55 bring in a recession.

01:58 We are here today to learn from you, business leaders,

02:01 how not to waste a slowdown.
