00:02 - Hi, yummies!
00:07 Rika Perelejo Bonifacio here and back in the yummy kitchen.
00:11 Today, we are gonna be making tuna mayo onigiri
00:14 or rice balls.
00:16 Wash the Japanese rice until water runs clear.
00:20 Add salt, fish sauce, and water to the rice.
00:28 And transfer to the rice cooker pot and cook.
00:31 Mix together drained tuna chunks, Japanese mayonnaise,
00:35 rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha
00:39 in a bowl until well combined.
00:42 To assemble, wet your hands and place a portion
00:47 of the rice onto your hand.
00:49 Spread it flat.
00:50 Add one to two teaspoons of the tuna mixture in the center,
00:55 then cover it with the surrounding rice.
00:58 Add more rice if you need to.
00:59 Squeeze the rice ball firmly to seal in the filling,
01:03 then carefully shape it into a triangle.
01:06 Stick the nori sheet at the bottom,
01:14 then roll it in sesame seeds or furikake.
01:18 These tuna mayo onigiri or rice balls
01:21 are so fun to make with kids,
01:23 and they're great as spa on for beach trips,
01:26 picnics, or even as a quick meal at work or in school.
