00:00:36 - Father, tonight we come as an advocate for our brother.
00:00:40 We thank you for the strength you have given him thus far.
00:00:45 And we pray that you touch his body even now.
00:00:53 See him through this time of sickness
00:00:56 'cause you got all by yourself.
00:01:01 You can do anything you choose to do.
00:01:05 We pray for him and his family right now in Jesus' name.
00:01:08 Amen, amen, and amen.
00:01:10 In the book of St. John's Gospel, chapter seven,
00:01:16 and also I would like to include
00:01:19 a little reading from chapter 19.
00:01:22 In St. John, chapter seven, verse 37 says,
00:01:28 "In the last day, that great day of the feast,
00:01:33 "Jesus stood and cried, saying, 'If any man thirst,
00:01:38 "'let him come unto me and drink.'
00:01:40 "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,
00:01:44 "'out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.'"
00:01:48 Can I stop right there for a minute?
00:01:51 You know I got married, you know.
00:01:53 (audience laughing)
00:01:56 I haven't said this in so long, I keep forgetting.
00:02:02 This is my wife, Sister Loretta Jo.
00:02:05 (audience applauding)
00:02:09 And I can go home tonight now.
00:02:14 "But this made he of the Spirit,
00:02:18 "which they that believe on him should receive,
00:02:24 "for the Holy Ghost was not yet given,
00:02:31 "because Jesus was not yet glorified."
00:02:34 Very significant.
00:02:38 In St. John, chapter 19, 34,
00:02:41 "But one of the soldiers with a spear
00:02:46 "pierced his side."
00:02:49 And when you pierce the side, out of that side,
00:02:54 forthwith came there out blood and water,
00:02:57 which means that he pierced the pericardial sac,
00:03:01 and blood and water came out.
00:03:06 "And he that saw it bare record," and his record is true,
00:03:12 "and he that knoweth that he saith truth
00:03:16 "that he might believe."
00:03:20 I want you to look at somebody like you're angry with them,
00:03:26 just like you're mad at them, just look at them seriously,
00:03:30 and say, "It will happen," oh, you all ain't mad,
00:03:35 "It will happen by the Spirit."
00:03:40 Look at somebody else and say, "If you want to have power,
00:03:48 "you've got to have pain."
00:03:50 You've got to have pain.
00:03:56 [audience cheering]
00:03:59 The late Bishop Norman L. Wagner
00:04:02 had a wonderful series of conferences.
00:04:06 I'm sure Brantley and Wayne remembers.
00:04:13 Pentecost in perspective.
00:04:25 And it is true then, from a preliminary observation,
00:04:29 that there is a distinct relationship between the cross
00:04:34 and the Holy Ghost as indicated by the text.
00:04:42 Is it all right to preach Jesus?
00:04:48 I hear so much humanism today,
00:04:50 everybody's preaching Norman Vincent Peale.
00:04:55 And the human ability to control the environment
00:04:59 by his or her own cognitive energy and intellectuality.
00:05:03 And somehow, Jesus has been left out.
00:05:09 And you almost have to apologize to preach Jesus.
00:05:16 I should talk a little bit about the social justice part
00:05:22 of the PAW that we're putting together.
00:05:25 I should talk about that, but I'm going to talk about Jesus.
00:05:29 I'm sorry, Tiffany, I forgot.
00:05:31 Yeah, with all the mass shootings
00:05:35 and all the things going on,
00:05:37 we've got to get ourselves involved
00:05:39 in what's going on in our community.
00:05:42 Amen.
00:05:43 We can't be so, you know,
00:05:45 we may differ on how to get to heaven,
00:05:48 but we ought to know how to live down here.
00:05:52 And we're in trouble if they ignore this constitution
00:05:56 and start shooting our boys in the back
00:05:57 and everybody's pro-life until people are born.
00:06:01 (audience cheering)
00:06:04 Yeah, there's a difference between being pro-abortion
00:06:08 and pro-life, or anti-abortion and pro-life.
00:06:11 Don't tell me you're pro-life and shooting people
00:06:16 in the back when they're running from you.
00:06:19 All right, all right.
00:06:21 And so we've got a ministry going here
00:06:24 that we want everybody to be a part of,
00:06:26 and that is let's get involved with our social system.
00:06:28 Let's get involved with voting and doing the right thing.
00:06:31 Anyhow, all right, I sort of snuck that in there too.
00:06:35 So let me go back to work.
00:06:37 It is critical to understand, then,
00:06:43 that there, in a more theological sense,
00:06:50 we have to understand the relationship
00:06:53 between theology, Christology, and pneumatology.
00:06:57 There's absolutely no way for us to deal
00:07:06 with this particular text and not understand
00:07:10 that theology, Christology, and pneumatology
00:07:17 are intricately interweaving.
00:07:19 You have to understand that in Pentecost,
00:07:29 we can only see it through Calvary.
00:07:34 You can't get to the upper room
00:07:42 unless you go through Golgotha.
00:07:46 Golgotha.
00:07:46 So what we have, essentially, then,
00:07:52 in understanding Jesus Christ,
00:07:55 is what we have is the pain of harnessing
00:08:00 and releasing power.
00:08:04 So the first question has to be out of whose belly?
00:08:13 Out of whose belly?
00:08:14 When Jesus says, "Focusing on me, believing on me,"
00:08:20 the question is, out of whose belly shall flow
00:08:25 the rivers of water?
00:08:28 If you look at it from the Hebrew understanding,
00:08:35 and John is writing, he's writing what is called
00:08:42 Hebrew parallelism.
00:08:44 It's really Hebrew poetry, it's Semitic parallelism.
00:08:50 And he understands it well because he is used to
00:08:56 the poets in Israel presenting different words
00:09:01 but the same thoughts.
00:09:08 I'll give you an example, I'll go to Proverbs, maybe 2.22,
00:09:13 where it says distinctly, "But the wicked shall be cut off
00:09:17 "from the earth."
00:09:20 We're gonna cut the wicked off from the earth.
00:09:24 Then he continues in the next paragraph,
00:09:28 and what he says then is, "And the transgressors
00:09:33 "shall be rooted out of it."
00:09:38 Now notice, Semitic parallelism.
00:09:40 Using different words but saying the same thing.
00:09:47 We take it a little further, you see,
00:09:51 "The upright shall dwell in the land
00:09:55 "and the perfect shall remain in it."
00:09:58 So what we have is the upright and the word
00:10:03 in the next paragraph or the next sentence
00:10:06 is not upright but perfect.
00:10:10 So we've got upright in juxtaposition to perfect.
00:10:16 We've got dwell in juxtaposition to remain.
00:10:20 So he's using different words but he's saying
00:10:25 the same thing.
00:10:29 When we look there in the particular text that we have,
00:10:33 Jesus is saying, "If someone thirsts,
00:10:36 "let him come to me and drink."
00:10:40 Now the water couldn't be flowing
00:10:47 from the belly of the one who thirsts.
00:10:51 All right, stay with me and I can hoop any time.
00:10:58 (imitates airplane)
00:11:00 Any time, he's ready already.
00:11:03 He who believes, we go from the West Eastern,
00:11:07 which is a traditional, it says,
00:11:10 "He who believes in me," comma,
00:11:13 "just as the scripture says," comma,
00:11:17 "rivers of living water will flow from his belly."
00:11:23 So from the Eastern translation,
00:11:27 which is a traditional translation, we would believe
00:11:32 that the water would flow out of the belly of the believer.
00:11:36 If we take the Western translation,
00:11:43 which is more Christological in its implication,
00:11:47 then what we have then, "If someone thirsts,
00:11:50 "let him come to me.
00:11:53 "Let him drink."
00:11:57 Who believes in me, period.
00:12:00 Just as the scriptures says,
00:12:05 "Rivers of living water will flow from his belly."
00:12:12 To understand it then from the Christological translation,
00:12:18 is to understand then that Jesus is the source of life.
00:12:24 Jesus is the source of the water.
00:12:27 It is not coming out of a thirsty belly.
00:12:34 It's coming out of a full belly.
00:12:36 The allusion then, is very careful now,
00:12:41 because now if I were to take the syllogistic,
00:12:43 not syllogistic, but take the Semitic parallelism,
00:12:47 what we would find then is, "If someone thirsts,
00:12:53 "let him drink."
00:12:54 Yes, "Let him come to me, who believes in me.
00:13:01 "There is no drinking if you don't believe,
00:13:08 "because you have to believe in me
00:13:12 "to penetrate the source out of which the power will flow."
00:13:21 So then of course, John, in verse 34 of chapter 19,
00:13:25 he provides what I call an unavoidable allusion
00:13:32 to what is predicted in these verses,
00:13:37 when he pricked him or pierced him in his side.
00:13:43 And I just want to tell the devil,
00:13:49 "You better watch that spare.
00:13:52 "You keep on poking, and something's going to come
00:13:55 "out of there that you cannot deal with."
00:13:59 That he saw it, and he bear record,
00:14:04 and his record is true that we might believe.
00:14:09 In Revelations 22, he depicts the river of life
00:14:16 flowing from the throne of God and from the land.
00:14:20 And if you notice, the text then is the source
00:14:24 of the spiritual citation from an Old Testament relationship
00:14:29 and I searched through a few of the texts,
00:14:34 and in Ezekiel 4 and 11, the spirit and the living water
00:14:38 now become eschatological images.
00:14:44 It's not frightening because everything
00:14:46 in the Old Testament is eschatologically brought
00:14:50 to truth in the New Testament,
00:14:53 so the images of the Old Testament are brought
00:14:56 to truth in the New Testament,
00:14:59 and the images of the New Testament,
00:15:01 we are living them right now.
00:15:03 Numbers chapter 20, verse eight, he says,
00:15:07 "Take the rod and gather thou the assembly together,
00:15:13 "thou and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock
00:15:17 "before their eyes, speak ye unto this rock,
00:15:22 "and it shall give forth his water,
00:15:25 "and thou shalt bring forth to them water of the rock.
00:15:29 "So shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink."
00:15:35 Exodus is often used by John, and here it is,
00:15:39 capped off by Paul, because here's what Paul does,
00:15:42 he identifies Christ with the rock.
00:15:45 "For they drank from the supernatural rock
00:15:50 "which followed them, and the rock was Christ."
00:15:53 Now, you and I know that John, that Moses struck the rock
00:15:57 when he should have spoken to the rock,
00:16:03 and he fell in trouble with God because of what he did,
00:16:08 and the reason he fell in trouble
00:16:11 was because he was not the one
00:16:14 who was supposed to strike the rock.
00:16:18 He struck the rock at the wrong time,
00:16:22 and he was not designated to strike the rock,
00:16:28 because the only one who could have struck the rock
00:16:31 was the one who put the water in the rock,
00:16:35 and the one who put the water in the rock
00:16:38 is the water of the rock,
00:16:40 and he alone has the right to strike the rock,
00:16:44 and he strikes the rock at the right time.
00:16:49 So not only is timing essential,
00:16:52 but who is doing the operation is essential,
00:16:55 and if you step out of your place,
00:16:57 you're gonna get in trouble with the God
00:17:01 who holds certain things to himself.
00:17:04 Can I preach like a village?
00:17:06 You gotta leave folk alone in the church,
00:17:09 because you don't know who's right and who's wrong.
00:17:13 So he says, "Don't you burn your mouth on anybody
00:17:17 "and start pulling up wheat with tears.
00:17:20 "Let 'em all grow together,
00:17:22 "because he knows who is what they say they are."
00:17:26 Oh, you got a lot of folk, you go to heaven,
00:17:30 you ain't gonna see.
00:17:32 Where is Brother So-and-So?
00:17:34 He ain't here.
00:17:36 What are you doing here?
00:17:39 Anyway, Jesus then is a rock from the midst
00:17:43 of which living water will flow.
00:17:48 Now notice to this point,
00:17:49 John is concerned about us believing.
00:17:52 He's not concerned particularly about what we know.
00:17:58 He's only concerned at this point about what we believe,
00:18:05 and then he's going to move us very gradually
00:18:09 into what we know,
00:18:11 and the reason is Jesus is never recognized.
00:18:14 He is always revealed.
00:18:18 Your cognitive energy, your intellectuality,
00:18:24 your creativity does not bring Jesus into your sphere.
00:18:28 It doesn't matter whether you graduated from Harvard
00:18:32 or you went to Yale.
00:18:34 It doesn't matter what theological school you went to.
00:18:37 Your intellect does not give you any inroads
00:18:41 as it relates to knowing who Jesus is.
00:18:44 How might I do that?
00:18:50 There were two boys in separate mother's wombs.
00:18:54 Yes, there was one in his mother Mary's womb,
00:18:59 and there was another boy in his mother Elizabeth's womb.
00:19:04 Now, the two boys were separated
00:19:07 by two thin layers of cutaneous tissue.
00:19:10 Now, Jesus was not reading the Jerusalem Tribune
00:19:15 while he was in his mother's womb.
00:19:19 He was unconscious in his mother's womb,
00:19:23 and John was unconscious in his mother's womb.
00:19:29 When the two mothers came together,
00:19:31 the Bible said that the child John leapt
00:19:34 in his mother's womb.
00:19:37 The unconscious John leapt in his mother's womb
00:19:41 and received the Holy Spirit while he was unconscious.
00:19:46 The unconscious John had a revelation of who Jesus is,
00:19:56 yet years later, the conscious John
00:19:59 sent message to Jesus and asked,
00:20:06 "Are you the one, or should we look for another?"
00:20:12 The unconscious John, the non-intellectual John,
00:20:16 the non-cognitive John, knew who Jesus is,
00:20:25 yet the conscious John was trying to figure him out.
00:20:30 Never let your mind talk you out of your revelation.
00:20:38 [audience cheering]
00:20:42 It's a critical piece now that no matter how smart you are,
00:20:46 that does not bring any knowledge of Jesus Christ.
00:20:52 He has to be revealed.
00:20:55 So John makes his book intensely Christological,
00:20:59 and if one recognizes this divine identity,
00:21:04 then it's here that faith emerges.
00:21:09 These things were written that ye might believe
00:21:12 that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
00:21:16 and believing you might have life through his name.
00:21:21 So the revelation of God in Christ
00:21:25 is intimately related to salvation.
00:21:27 This is why Jesus says, "You gotta believe on me,
00:21:34 the Messiah, as the scripture had said."
00:21:38 So in believing in Christ, you have to believe his deity,
00:21:45 because only then out of his belly shall flow rivers
00:21:51 releasing God to man, releasing his spirit
00:21:55 through his experience on the cross.
00:22:00 So God now in Christ, all sin is an offense against God.
00:22:06 Therefore, forgiveness is God's prerogative
00:22:12 and God's prerogative alone.
00:22:16 Man cannot redeem mankind.
00:22:20 Only God can.
00:22:21 Therefore, if Jesus were only human,
00:22:28 we are yet dead in our sins, we are yet caught off from God
00:22:33 without hope in the world or help in the age to come,
00:22:39 because no man can be the savior of man.
00:22:46 It is equally certain that if Jesus, yes,
00:22:49 was God before he became man,
00:22:53 then the God who manifested himself in human flesh
00:22:58 could save man.
00:23:00 We can only trust in Christ in confidence and security
00:23:04 if we believe beyond a question that he is God
00:23:10 and therefore he is able to save.
00:23:15 I wanna quote Rimmer and Rimmer puts it like this.
00:23:18 Rimmer says, "The fact of deity in our savior
00:23:23 "is prerequisite for our salvation."
00:23:26 That's why John begins, "In the beginning was the word,
00:23:31 "and the word was with God, and the word was God."
00:23:36 The uniqueness of Jesus is the word became flesh.
00:23:43 So that means his origin and his birth
00:23:46 are not one and the same as yours and mine.
00:23:50 The opening then brings and makes
00:23:53 the virgin birth more credible.
00:23:56 The fact of the virgin birth becomes the only explanation
00:24:01 for the appearance of God with the nature of Jesus Christ.
00:24:07 Here is why.
00:24:10 There are two forms of life
00:24:12 associated with the nature of Jesus.
00:24:15 There is human life, which is creature life,
00:24:20 which is imparted life.
00:24:22 This life is derived from vital ancestry.
00:24:26 You can change it all the way from Adam
00:24:30 until you get to Jesus.
00:24:32 All you gotta do is explore through a biological maze
00:24:37 and you come to the primal creation, which would be Adam.
00:24:42 So what do we have here?
00:24:43 We have creator life.
00:24:45 We have inherent life,
00:24:48 for that inherent life has no beginning.
00:24:53 So when you're dealing with Jesus,
00:24:57 you have created life and you have inherent life.
00:25:01 So the Father hath life inherent.
00:25:06 So hath he given to the Son to have life inherent.
00:25:10 The inherent life is life that's not created.
00:25:16 The created life is a life that you can trace
00:25:21 through the maze of a biological situation
00:25:23 and come to who was first in that line.
00:25:27 So now we go to Mendel's Law.
00:25:31 Are you still with me?
00:25:32 Oh, I can holler any time.
00:25:34 I just gotta have something to holler about.
00:25:37 And here it goes.
00:25:38 Mendel says, "Every individual is the sum total
00:25:42 "of the characteristics, whether recessive or dominant,
00:25:48 "in its two immediate progenitors," unquote.
00:25:53 Plainly, what Mendel is saying,
00:25:57 that there is nothing in any individual
00:26:01 that was not in the father and mother of that person.
00:26:05 Everything in the mother and the father
00:26:10 is in the offspring.
00:26:12 So let's work it out.
00:26:15 If Jesus' mother and father were human,
00:26:19 he would inherit all human characteristics.
00:26:23 We would have a simple equation,
00:26:26 man plus man equals man.
00:26:31 Let's reverse it.
00:26:32 If his mother is deity and his father is deity,
00:26:36 then what we've got now is God plus God equals God.
00:26:41 Now the problem with that is
00:26:45 it would be too inaccessible to you and I.
00:26:49 For the problem of salvation is to bridge
00:26:53 the unfathomable abyss that separates
00:26:56 a holy God from an unclean sinner.
00:27:01 So that means I gotta go to the Bible.
00:27:04 And what I get from the Bible is that Jesus
00:27:08 is conceived in the womb of his virgin mother
00:27:12 who is created life.
00:27:15 Uh-huh, he is, she is created life.
00:27:20 And God being his father now puts inherent life
00:27:29 in the created life.
00:27:30 You better watch that spare, devil.
00:27:34 You better watch that spare.
00:27:36 You're gonna go poking around
00:27:38 and get yourself in serious trouble.
00:27:42 You better watch how you stick him
00:27:44 because if you stick him, you're gonna let something out
00:27:48 that you don't wanna deal with
00:27:50 that's gonna wipe you out if you let that power out.
00:27:55 Jesus talks to us and now what we end up
00:27:59 with is man plus God equals the man God, Christ Jesus.
00:28:04 Now we are in a situation where Jesus declares
00:28:10 I am the bread which came down from heaven.
00:28:15 If only man eat my flesh and drink my blood.
00:28:19 If he doesn't do that, he has no part of me.
00:28:22 Now it's interesting that the disciples
00:28:25 were with him for all the time
00:28:26 and the disciples didn't have a very good record
00:28:30 if you follow me.
00:28:32 Can I just digress for a minute to talk about their record?
00:28:36 The disciples had a proclivity
00:28:38 to not want Jesus to do his work.
00:28:42 They didn't want him to talk to the woman at the well.
00:28:45 They held out their little fishes and loaves
00:28:48 and they didn't really want him to take their food
00:28:52 and feed the 5,000 or feed the 4,000.
00:28:56 They didn't want him to go to Zacchaeus' house
00:28:59 and they hated the fact that he had young people around him.
00:29:03 Jesus had to say suffer the little children
00:29:07 to come unto me.
00:29:10 Oh yes, oh yes.
00:29:11 They had the desire for a Venetian woman
00:29:14 and they said send her away
00:29:17 because she hollereth after us.
00:29:19 Ain't nobody wanna see you.
00:29:21 Well we came to see Jesus.
00:29:25 You can't heal my daughter.
00:29:27 We come to see Jesus.
00:29:29 The disciples were anti everything it seems
00:29:34 and the question now becomes what were they busy doing?
00:29:38 They don't want him to see the woman at the well.
00:29:41 They don't want him to deal with this Syro-Venetian woman.
00:29:44 They don't want the young people to come around.
00:29:47 They didn't wanna feed the 4,000,
00:29:49 didn't wanna feed the 5,000,
00:29:51 didn't want him to go to Zacchaeus' house.
00:29:53 My God, what are they doing?
00:29:57 They're sitting around in a little group
00:30:00 and they're arguing who is the greatest among us.
00:30:05 I feel like preaching here.
00:30:08 Sound a little apostolic to me.
00:30:11 Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.
00:30:16 So Jesus now becomes then that mediator
00:30:20 between God and man and he can only be that mediator
00:30:25 because he has one foot in the problem
00:30:29 and he has the other foot in the solution.
00:30:33 One of the problems we have is we fail to associate.
00:30:38 Can I say that again?
00:30:40 You cannot influence who you don't associate with
00:30:46 and you have the power to associate in order to influence
00:30:51 and you can't allow people who are stuck up
00:30:57 on their own personal conviction and personal Christianity
00:31:02 that has nothing to do with Jesus Christ
00:31:06 to stop you from associating in order to influence.
00:31:11 You can't touch me with your doctrine
00:31:15 until I realize that you love me.
00:31:19 You can't influence me with your thoughts
00:31:22 if you don't care about me.
00:31:25 You have to care about me
00:31:27 for me to care about your thoughts.
00:31:30 You can't impose your thoughts in a place of animus.
00:31:35 You have to remove the animosity
00:31:39 in order to impose your thought.
00:31:41 I have to trust you to believe you.
00:31:45 You have to operate in a way
00:31:48 that makes me trust you to walk with you.
00:31:52 You just can't impose your super holiness on me
00:31:57 and expect me to follow.
00:31:59 If you get off your high horse
00:32:01 and act like you used to be where I am,
00:32:04 then I might come with you.
00:32:07 [audience cheering]
00:32:08 I might as well have a little church here.
00:32:11 Have I told you to touch your neighbor yet?
00:32:13 It's coming, it's coming, hold on.
00:32:15 You see, again, Jesus now becomes,
00:32:18 he says to his disciples,
00:32:20 you gotta eat my flesh and drink my blood.
00:32:24 And they're looking at one another,
00:32:26 I don't know, there's no cannibalism here.
00:32:29 I don't know what he's talking about.
00:32:31 He says to them, does this also offend you?
00:32:35 And of course it offends us.
00:32:37 What do you think?
00:32:39 We are very sophisticated, civilized folk,
00:32:42 and we don't do things like that.
00:32:46 Jesus says, wouldn't if you see the Son of Man ascend
00:32:50 from whence he came?
00:32:52 I guess there goes the lunch, there goes the food,
00:32:56 there it's leaving us.
00:32:58 He said, let me tell you something.
00:33:00 The flesh profiteth nothing.
00:33:03 The words that I speak, they are spirit and they are life.
00:33:08 But the word was with God.
00:33:12 And the word was God.
00:33:15 So when he speaks the word, he's speaking God.
00:33:19 You can't have God's word and not have God.
00:33:24 Because God is his word.
00:33:27 And his word is God.
00:33:30 I feel like shouting here.
00:33:32 So what we've got now is the panoply of flesh
00:33:36 wrapped over inherent power.
00:33:40 And in order to release that, you better watch that spare,
00:33:44 you better watch that cross,
00:33:45 you better watch what you're doing.
00:33:47 Because if you think you got him,
00:33:50 you got something coming your way.
00:33:53 Maybe, just maybe, when you said come down from the cross,
00:33:57 oh, I feel like preaching, Pat, I'm almost there.
00:33:59 I feel like giving God some glory.
00:34:03 Because what you've got wrapped up here
00:34:06 is the gift and the giver.
00:34:09 Because Jesus Christ becomes
00:34:12 the most eloquent word to man.
00:34:14 He becomes God's last word to man.
00:34:18 He becomes God's greatest gift to man.
00:34:22 And here and here alone do you have
00:34:25 the gift and the giver inextricably tied together.
00:34:30 You can't enjoy the gift and not have the giver.
00:34:36 You see, many of us enjoy the gifts of God,
00:34:40 but we don't serve the giver.
00:34:43 We have a lot of fun with his gifts.
00:34:46 I wonder, are you with somebody,
00:34:48 you'll take their gift,
00:34:50 but you really don't wanna deal with them.
00:34:52 Yeah, just keep on shopping for me, and I'll be happy.
00:34:57 I don't want you, but I'm not gonna turn down what you give.
00:35:01 Don't work like that with God.
00:35:03 If you receive Jesus, you already have God.
00:35:07 And that's why every now and then he proves you.
00:35:11 Because he can challenge you with his gifts.
00:35:15 He blessed Adam so well
00:35:18 that Adam chose the woman over God.
00:35:22 Should I say that again?
00:35:23 He gave, he said, "Woman."
00:35:28 And before you know it, he was with the woman over God.
00:35:33 He went with her instead of going with God.
00:35:37 God is the only one I know that can gift you so well
00:35:42 that you can take the gift
00:35:45 and it challenges your relationship with God.
00:35:48 Are you still holding out on me?
00:35:51 Well, who made Lucifer?
00:35:53 God made Lucifer.
00:35:55 God made Lucifer so beautiful,
00:35:57 Lucifer looked at himself
00:35:59 and thought he was greater than God.
00:36:02 I feel like preaching now, I'm almost there.
00:36:05 So now he says, "You have to believe on me
00:36:10 "as the scripture had said."
00:36:14 When he said that,
00:36:14 he was not speaking about the New Testament.
00:36:18 He was speaking about the Old Testament
00:36:22 because that was the scripture they had.
00:36:25 So every time God dealt with man in the Old Testament,
00:36:30 he was dealing with Jesus
00:36:33 because he said, "You gotta believe on me
00:36:37 "as the scripture had said."
00:36:40 And here we find the use of the word Jehovah.
00:36:45 It was Jehovah in Genesis chapter two
00:36:48 that did the provision for the planet.
00:36:51 It was Genesis in Genesis two through seven
00:36:56 that created everything.
00:36:58 It was Jehovah who announced the coming Redeemer.
00:37:03 It was Jehovah who accepted the offering of Abel
00:37:07 and rejected the offering of Cain.
00:37:11 It was Jehovah who arranged to save the remnants
00:37:16 who were in the flood.
00:37:18 It was Jehovah who demanded
00:37:21 the sacrificial lamb's blood on the doorpost.
00:37:25 It was Jehovah who on Mount Sinai gave the code.
00:37:30 There is only one mediator between man and God,
00:37:36 and that is the man Christ Jesus.
00:37:41 And then he created situations
00:37:45 in order to give revelation of who he is
00:37:50 because God has to control the situation
00:37:54 in order to give the revelation.
00:37:57 So sometimes you're going through a situation
00:38:00 and it's God just setting you up for a revelation.
00:38:05 He created the situation for revelation
00:38:08 and we called it Jehovah-Jireh.
00:38:11 He created a situation for revelation
00:38:14 and we called it Jehovah-Siccano.
00:38:16 He created a situation for revelation
00:38:19 and we call it Jehovah-Rophika.
00:38:22 He created a situation for revelation
00:38:25 and we call it Jehovah-Nissi.
00:38:27 He created a situation for revelation
00:38:30 and we call it Jehovah-Roha.
00:38:32 Now I don't know what situation he's creating in your life,
00:38:37 but I'm sure at the end of it, you can call it Jesus
00:38:41 because Jesus is the one name
00:38:44 that covers every Jehovahistic name.
00:38:47 Believe on me as the scripture had said.
00:38:52 I'm almost there, Pat.
00:38:53 Give me a little note.
00:38:55 Thank you.
00:38:58 That's why the voice of Isaiah says,
00:39:01 "The voice of one crieth,
00:39:05 "prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah."
00:39:10 Jehovah was expected to visit the earth.
00:39:16 That's why Matthew 3 and 3,
00:39:18 "For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah,
00:39:22 "saying, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
00:39:27 "'make ready the way of the Lord, make his path straight.'"
00:39:32 That's why John declared,
00:39:34 "For I come down from heaven not to do my own will,
00:39:39 "but the will of him that sent me."
00:39:42 Philip cried, "Lord, show us the Father,
00:39:46 "and it's a faith that's us."
00:39:48 Jesus said unto him, "Have I been so long with you,
00:39:53 "and thou hast not known me, Philip?
00:39:56 "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.
00:40:01 "How sayest thou unto me, 'Show us the Father?'
00:40:05 "Believe on me as the scripture had said."
00:40:10 And now you become a candidate for power,
00:40:14 but that power has to be released at Calvary's cross.
00:40:19 So through the pain of Calvary,
00:40:22 physical and material life released inherent life,
00:40:27 and that's why Jesus told him,
00:40:31 "The hour has come when the Son of Man should be glorified."
00:40:36 And he says, "Except a grain of wheat,
00:40:39 "a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die,
00:40:44 "it remaineth alone, but if it dies,
00:40:47 "it bringeth forth much fruit."
00:40:51 I feel like preaching.
00:40:52 Ah, I feel like lifting him up.
00:40:54 We're almost there.
00:40:56 Give somebody a high five for the first time,
00:40:59 and say, "Something has to die for everything to live."
00:41:05 Ah, but the pain, can I talk about pain for a minute?
00:41:09 When we talk about pain,
00:41:11 we talk about physical pain that we receive,
00:41:14 and the pain that he received, we'll talk about that.
00:41:18 But I want you to think a little bit further
00:41:21 when you talk about pain.
00:41:23 When you deal with pain, let's put it this way,
00:41:25 and I think we can get it.
00:41:27 Here I am, an intellectual, cognitive-thinking human being,
00:41:33 and I am supposed to save roaches.
00:41:37 Now, I know who I am, and I'm conscious of who I am,
00:41:41 and I have all of the faculties of a human being.
00:41:46 I love the expression of a human being.
00:41:48 I love the mobility of a human being.
00:41:52 Now, think about the psychological debilitation
00:41:55 that I would have to deal with
00:41:57 if in order to save roaches,
00:42:00 I had to be put in a roach's body.
00:42:04 With everything that I am,
00:42:07 you got to put me in a roach's body
00:42:10 in order to save roaches.
00:42:12 So while I am in this body,
00:42:15 I'm still feeling the power of who I am,
00:42:20 but I'm stuck in a roach's body
00:42:23 in order to save roaches.
00:42:26 Now, God and I are so far different than me and a roach.
00:42:31 I want you to understand.
00:42:34 So give me just a minute here.
00:42:37 Now, take divine omnipresence
00:42:42 and limit it to a human body with human dimensions,
00:42:47 and that's pain.
00:42:49 I wish somebody'd understand it.
00:42:50 Tap your neighbor and say,
00:42:52 I'm going to tell you what pain is.
00:42:54 Pain is when you can't be all that you are
00:42:58 unless you got a purpose in mind.
00:43:02 Let's go a little bit further.
00:43:04 Take divine omniscience
00:43:07 and restrict it by the finitude of the human brain.
00:43:12 That's pain.
00:43:13 Take divine eternalness
00:43:16 and bound it by the periphery of time.
00:43:19 That's pain.
00:43:21 If you take everything that God is in his immutability
00:43:26 and put him in a physical body of vicissitudinous changes,
00:43:31 then that's pain.
00:43:33 You wrap him up in human flesh
00:43:36 when he is God all by himself,
00:43:40 and you reduce him to the point,
00:43:42 I wish I could preach this thing,
00:43:44 you get him to the point where you put him up on Gethsemane
00:43:48 and his physical body is fighting
00:43:51 against his divine omniscience.
00:43:54 So what he ends up with is hemohydrosis.
00:43:59 His sweat becomes blood, and that's pain.
00:44:03 He spends a sleepless night while tried by inferior men.
00:44:08 Don't you know what I could do to you?
00:44:11 And you got the nerve to be trying me,
00:44:14 and I'm your God,
00:44:17 and I've got to subject myself
00:44:19 to listen to your ignorant self
00:44:22 talk about things you don't know anything about,
00:44:25 and that's pain.
00:44:27 He was spat on.
00:44:29 He was slapped and beaten by the Jewish guard,
00:44:33 and that's not only physical pain,
00:44:35 but it's pain that's psychologically debilitating.
00:44:39 He was marched five miles.
00:44:42 I feel like preaching pat.
00:44:44 I feel like having little church.
00:44:46 I'm most there.
00:44:48 Give somebody a high five,
00:44:50 and tell them I'll tell you what pain is.
00:44:53 He spent a hungry, sleepless, thirsty night.
00:44:56 He was already bloody,
00:44:59 and then they whipped him until his skin and muscles
00:45:02 were strips of protoplasm,
00:45:06 bloody protoplasm at that.
00:45:08 He had a crown of thorns, a purple crown.
00:45:12 They put a purple robe on him, wooden set,
00:45:15 and that was pain.
00:45:17 They mocked and jared him,
00:45:19 and that was psychological pain.
00:45:22 He was weak in shock, dehydrated.
00:45:25 He was bloody.
00:45:26 He had chills from blood loss,
00:45:29 yet marched to Calvary with 75 pounds on his neck.
00:45:34 He didn't have the whole cross.
00:45:37 He just had the cross member,
00:45:39 which is a pate bullion,
00:45:41 and that weighed 75 pounds.
00:45:44 They saw him struggling up the hill,
00:45:46 and they sent Simon to help him,
00:45:49 not because they wanted to ease his pain,
00:45:53 but they want him to hurry up
00:45:55 because the Sabbath was coming,
00:45:57 and yet still, we've got God wrapped up in all of that.
00:46:02 Oh my God, they laid him on an old, rugged cross.
00:46:07 They opened his arms up,
00:46:09 and they nailed him through the carpal and the radius bone,
00:46:14 and cut the median parent, median nerve, yeah,
00:46:18 and his hand closed like a grip,
00:46:21 and when his hand closed like a claw,
00:46:24 he said to us, "And no man shall pluck them out of my hand."
00:46:29 We might as well have church, Pat.
00:46:33 And no man, because I've been caught in a death grip,
00:46:38 and no man can pry his hands open
00:46:41 to get me out of his hands.
00:46:45 Oh, I feel like shouting in here.
00:46:47 The greatest miracle that Jesus ever wrought
00:46:52 was when he did not come down from the cross.
00:46:57 When he healed a Syrophoenician, that was one woman.
00:47:00 When he healed a woman with the issue of blood, one woman.
00:47:03 When he cleansed the lepers, just nine or 10 of them.
00:47:07 When he fed 5,000, only 5,000.
00:47:10 But when he stood on the cross, in spite of who he was,
00:47:15 he saved every single person who will believe on him.
00:47:20 I feel like lifting him up.
00:47:24 He died to release it.
00:47:27 You better watch that spare devil.
00:47:30 You better watch what you're doing,
00:47:32 because if you fool around and kill his body,
00:47:36 you're going to release more power
00:47:39 than you ever thought was available.
00:47:42 If you strip away his body,
00:47:45 you're gonna let the Holy Ghost out of there,
00:47:48 because the Holy Ghost was not yet given,
00:47:51 because Jesus was not yet glorified.
00:47:55 And if you mess with his body and tear him apart,
00:48:00 I feel the devil got a picture of what was happening
00:48:04 when he said, "If thou be the Son of God,
00:48:09 come down from the cross."
00:48:11 Too late, too late, too late.
00:48:16 You got set up.
00:48:18 Give somebody a high five and say,
00:48:20 "Neighbor, the devil got set up.
00:48:24 He thought he was running things,
00:48:27 but it was God who was in control,
00:48:30 and it was God who had an appointment with Jesus on Calvary
00:48:35 because he knew that if he broke his body down,
00:48:40 it would release the power that would cover the earth."
00:48:45 I feel like shouting in here.
00:48:47 Give somebody a high five for the third time and say,
00:48:51 "Neighbor, when they were tearing his body down,
00:48:56 they were building my body up.
00:48:58 When they were tearing him down,
00:49:01 they were healing my body.
00:49:03 When they were tearing him down,
00:49:05 they were controlling my mind.
00:49:08 I will not lose my mind
00:49:11 'cause I'm gonna need my mind
00:49:13 for the next thing that God has for me."
00:49:16 Don't lose your mind over the man that's leaving
00:49:21 'cause you're gonna need your mind
00:49:23 for the next one coming.
00:49:25 Don't lose your mind over losing your job
00:49:30 'cause you're gonna need your mind
00:49:32 for the business you should have started a long time ago.
00:49:37 Don't lose your mind over the house that burned down
00:49:41 'cause you're gonna need your mind
00:49:43 to regulate the next one coming.
00:49:47 Don't lose your mind for anybody
00:49:50 because when he died on the cross,
00:49:53 he marched around your mind.
00:49:55 I will keep them in perfect peace
00:49:59 whose mind is stayed on me
00:50:03 because I am your deliverer,
00:50:07 not Donald Trump,
00:50:09 but Jesus is your deliverer.
00:50:13 Thank you, Wagner, wherever you are.
00:50:16 Jesus will bring you out all right
00:50:20 because the power has been released.
00:50:24 Give somebody a high five and say,
00:50:27 "Nave, the power has been released.
00:50:32 Jesus has been glorified."
00:50:35 That's why I rose to tell the Pentecostal
00:50:40 assemblies of the world,
00:50:42 you ain't got to back up to nobody.
00:50:45 You ain't got to take a back seat to any situation
00:50:50 because I am filled with the power of the Holy Ghost.
00:50:55 I don't have to back up to any demon
00:51:00 because I have the power of the Holy Ghost.
00:51:05 I don't have to run from any enemy
00:51:09 because if you got an enemy,
00:51:11 he's getting ready to release the power that is in you.
00:51:17 They left you for dead, but you're still here.
00:51:21 They left you for dead, but you rose up again
00:51:25 and you told the world, "I'm still here,
00:51:29 lifting up the name of my God.
00:51:32 I'm getting ready to quit."
00:51:34 But that's not how the story ended.
00:51:38 Three days later, he rose from the grave
00:51:42 and he said, "All power,
00:51:46 all power,
00:51:47 in heaven and earth is in my hand.
00:51:54 Give somebody a high five for the second to the last time.
00:51:58 And say, "Neighbor, don't run from your pain.
00:52:02 It's gonna release your power.
00:52:05 Let 'em talk, let 'em despise you,
00:52:09 let 'em criticize, let 'em walk on you.
00:52:12 All they're gonna do is let the power of the Holy Ghost
00:52:17 come out of your soul.
00:52:20 Let the power of the Spirit of God rise up.
00:52:25 Get out of my house, devil.
00:52:28 Get out of my house.
00:52:29 Get out, get out, get out, get out, get out."
00:52:34 (audience applauding)
00:52:39 (upbeat music)
00:52:42 Get out, get out, out.
00:52:49 Because the power has been released.
00:52:55 The power is in the house.
00:52:58 The power is on your pew.
00:53:01 Somebody ought to holler, "I got the power.
00:53:06 I got the power.
00:53:08 I got the power."
00:53:10 (audience applauding)
00:53:13 Spirit.
00:53:29 Power.
00:53:35 Power.
00:53:38 Power.
00:53:39 It's been released.
00:53:42 It's been released.
00:53:51 It's been released.
00:53:53 It's been released.
00:53:56 Power.
00:54:01 (upbeat music)
00:54:04 You better watch that spear, devil.
00:54:30 He poked him in his side.
00:54:33 Out came the blood that washed us.
00:54:36 Out came the water that empowered us.
00:54:41 There's nothing like a clean, Holy Ghost filled individual.
00:54:47 Ain't no witch.
00:54:55 Ain't no wizard.
00:55:00 Ain't no demon.
00:55:02 Can stand against a child of God
00:55:07 who receives a power that flowed from children.
00:55:13 Nobody can stand up,
00:55:16 give somebody a high five for the next service
00:55:22 and say the demons are trembling right now.
00:55:24 The demons are trembling, they're trembling.
00:55:26 They're trembling, they're trembling.
00:55:28 They're trembling, they're trembling.
00:55:30 Send a word to your house in the name of Jesus.
00:55:34 Send a word to your job.
00:55:36 Send a word to your situation in the name of Jesus.
00:55:40 In the name, not only do I have power, I have authority.
00:55:45 The name gave me authority.
00:55:48 I can write the check and I can sign it.
00:55:51 (audience applauding)
00:55:54 I'm closing tonight.
00:56:08 This is not humanism.
00:56:15 This is not humanism.
00:56:20 This is not humanism.
00:56:22 This is not Norman Vincent Peale.
00:56:27 I look at my brother for 50 years,
00:56:30 the Bishop Richard Young,
00:56:34 and he's not standing today on any humanistic,
00:56:41 clever, educated doctor
00:56:48 he's standing on the power of what God can do
00:56:52 when his people come to your rescue.
00:57:00 And I want to tell the Pentecostal assemblies of the world,
00:57:08 stop going to folks' funerals, go to their rescue.
00:57:12 A whole lot of folk will come to your funeral
00:57:17 and they won't come to your rescue.
00:57:20 You got the power to rescue folks.
00:57:24 Power!
00:57:31 As I close,
00:57:41 as I close,
00:57:46 as I close for the second time,
00:57:49 there's a wonderful thing that we should begin to adopt.
00:57:57 And I want you to be very mindful
00:58:02 of how Jesus spoke about John
00:58:07 and how John spoke about Jesus.
00:58:14 And how John spoke about Jesus.
00:58:16 If you ever want to see two powerful,
00:58:19 two of the most powerful people living,
00:58:28 who have ever lived, one is still living,
00:58:32 praising one another,
00:58:33 one of the things that hinders us
00:58:39 is we don't seem to realize
00:58:42 that my brother's greatness
00:58:44 should be recognized by me.
00:58:54 (audience applauding)
00:58:58 And part of why we fail to demonstrate the power of God
00:59:09 is because of divisiveness.
00:59:11 The greatest unifier the universe has ever seen
00:59:17 is the Holy Spirit.
00:59:21 There's no gender, for there's neither male nor female.
00:59:27 There's no financial difference,
00:59:31 because there's neither slave nor bond.
00:59:35 (audience applauding)
00:59:36 Yes, there is no racial difference,
00:59:39 because there's a Jew nor Gentile.
00:59:44 Because if you get in Christ Jesus, you could become one.
00:59:48 Jesus said of John,
00:59:51 "There is no man born of a woman
00:59:56 "that is greater than John the Baptist."
01:00:01 John said of Jesus,
01:00:03 "I am not worth to unleash his shoes."
01:00:06 And yet Jesus was coming to bring John's time to an end.
01:00:13 Our problem is we don't extol the virtue of our brothers.
01:00:20 No one of us has it all.
01:00:24 (audience applauding)
01:00:28 No one of us has it all.
01:00:32 Has it all.
01:00:33 My idiosyncratic conceptualization of God
01:00:36 cannot be duplicated or imitated.
01:00:40 It is exclusively mine.
01:00:42 And my brothers, each individual conceptualization of God
01:00:46 cannot be duplicated or imitated,
01:00:48 even if we had the same teachers,
01:00:50 same preachers all our lives.
01:00:51 Because you gotta deal with personal experience,
01:00:54 cognitive energy, revelatory experiences.
01:00:57 You gotta deal with all the things
01:00:58 that are idiosyncratically yours.
01:01:01 So that's why we share.
01:01:03 Because I need his view and her view
01:01:08 to understand God more fully
01:01:10 because he didn't show it to me.
01:01:12 He didn't give me everything.
01:01:14 He gave you something I don't have.
01:01:17 So I need to love you and stay with you.
01:01:20 And we get too caught up in our individual conviction.
01:01:25 I'm closing for the third time.
01:01:31 (audience shouting)
01:01:34 When we go into the scriptures
01:01:36 and we say, "Well, the Lord gave me revelation."
01:01:38 You ain't got no revelation.
01:01:40 What you're doing in the Bible
01:01:44 is illuminating what has already been revealed.
01:01:49 We just trying to make it clear.
01:01:53 Now, now stay with me for a minute.
01:01:57 Now, I am interpreting Paul.
01:02:01 I am interpreting Paul.
01:02:03 I'm studying, I'm doing lexical, syntactical,
01:02:07 word studies, critical analysis of the text.
01:02:10 I'm doing everything I can to understand Paul.
01:02:13 And when I get it, the little illumination I get,
01:02:18 I am so proud of myself
01:02:21 that I say all of these brothers going to hell
01:02:25 'cause they ain't got it right.
01:02:28 Now, I am interpreting Paul who received the revelation,
01:02:33 yet I see it so clearly,
01:02:36 I can tell you, you ain't got it.
01:02:40 I see it so clearly now that I can separate myself
01:02:43 from my brothers and my sisters because I got it.
01:02:46 Now, the one who sat with God, Paul,
01:02:50 he said, "We look through the Bible
01:02:57 "a glass dark."
01:02:59 Now, he got the revelation.
01:03:01 And he said, "I don't see it clear."
01:03:04 He's looking through a glass dark,
01:03:09 which means it's some more he's trying to get
01:03:12 that he ain't seen.
01:03:13 Yet I'm interpreting him
01:03:15 and I'm seeing more than you.
01:03:19 How could that possibly be?
01:03:22 That the one who is sitting at the feet of Jesus
01:03:25 is saying, "Lord, I don't understand.
01:03:26 "I'm sitting behind the one who's sitting
01:03:29 "at the feet of Jesus,
01:03:30 "trying to figure the one who's sitting
01:03:31 "at the feet of Jesus out
01:03:33 "and I'm seeing clearer than he is."
01:03:36 Come on, saints.
01:03:39 In order for us to be what we must be
01:03:45 in this world that ain't going back to pre-pandemic,
01:03:49 never be the same,
01:03:52 we have to sit down together
01:03:56 and work out what is needed
01:04:00 for the generation that's coming
01:04:01 and get busy working it out.
01:04:07 And we need each other
01:04:11 with all of our idiosyncrasies
01:04:15 and we've got to come together.
01:04:16 Baby boomers are dying.
01:04:19 X's are dying.
01:04:24 Now we got to deal with these connectors,
01:04:26 these millennials and these Z's.
01:04:31 Our churches were losing members anyway
01:04:35 because God told us to go into all the world.
01:04:42 I'm going to talk about that tomorrow.
01:04:44 We went into all the physical world
01:04:46 but we didn't go into cyberspace world.
01:04:53 Amen.
01:04:54 So our churches were losing numbers anyway
01:04:57 because we weren't appealing to the kids
01:05:00 who do everything here.
01:05:03 And we've been trying to get folk to assemble
01:05:07 but the folk we trying to get to assemble are dying
01:05:12 'cause they my age.
01:05:13 Amen.
01:05:18 I've been following the prophets.
01:05:23 I got in a private jet
01:05:25 and ran over to see what the prophets were doing
01:05:28 because the prophets got 75, 10,000 people assembling,
01:05:34 young folk.
01:05:38 I'm saying to myself, now what's going on?
01:05:41 And here's what I discovered.
01:05:44 The prophets are doing what we used to do
01:05:50 when we used to lay on of hands,
01:05:52 when we used to have altar service,
01:05:57 at the altar we would have service.
01:06:02 We wouldn't do like they do in the church.
01:06:04 I pastor bring them down and send them to a private room
01:06:07 because half the members of the church
01:06:09 don't want to be involved in praying somebody through.
01:06:12 Amen.
01:06:16 Even the people who receive them
01:06:17 don't want to go to the prayer room with them.
01:06:20 They just want to make sure they get a front seat.
01:06:23 All the prophets are doing are touching people one-on-one
01:06:29 but we got so, and Schombach used to do it,
01:06:32 Skinner used to do it, my father used to do it,
01:06:36 Bishop Brooks used to do it, his dad used to do it.
01:06:39 We would pray with people ourselves
01:06:41 but I ain't praying for nobody in a briony suit.
01:06:48 Zillow tie, Anto shirt, Gucci shoes.
01:06:52 Amen.
01:06:58 My mob buck is waiting for me outside.
01:07:00 We have gotten so aloof.
01:07:05 We got a lot of words but where's the power?
01:07:09 And the folk are flocking to what they believe is power.
01:07:18 (audience laughing)
01:07:21 And I'm closing for the fifth time.
01:07:22 When I preach tonight, 15,000, 20,000 people
01:07:30 can be home and receive this.
01:07:34 Sitting in some slippers that ain't got no heels no more
01:07:39 and all the toes, you can see the mark of the toes
01:07:42 in the slippers, in a robe that's got holes in it,
01:07:46 sitting on a couch with some coffee.
01:07:50 Oh, didn't he preach, didn't he preach?
01:07:53 He could have done better than that.
01:07:54 Sitting at home, they can get this
01:07:59 but they can't get baptism at home.
01:08:01 They can't get laying on of hands at home.
01:08:05 They can't get somebody praying with them
01:08:07 to receive the Holy Ghost at home.
01:08:10 And when they come to the church house,
01:08:12 they ain't looking for a bunch of missionaries
01:08:14 who don't want to do anything but get a front seat.
01:08:16 They looking for the man that they hear preaching
01:08:19 who will come down and say a word to them
01:08:22 and lay a hand on them in order them to feel at home.
01:08:26 (audience applauding)
01:08:29 We have to do it.
01:08:36 We have to release our young men and our young women.
01:08:40 We can't be pastoring until we can hardly walk.
01:08:43 (audience cheering)
01:08:45 Amen.
01:08:46 Pastoring until you start with Isaiah over there,
01:08:49 you get over here, it's Jacob.
01:08:51 You forgot what you're doing.
01:08:53 We got to release.
01:08:56 We've got to learn from young people
01:08:59 because my expiration date is at hand.
01:09:03 At my age, my expiration date is at hand.
01:09:07 So how can I extend my expiration date?
01:09:11 When I mentor young men and young women,
01:09:13 I listen to their wisdom for the contemporary time
01:09:17 that they're living in and I adopt certain things.
01:09:21 I've got to get, I got to stop fighting to hold my identity
01:09:26 at the cost of being relevant.
01:09:30 (audience cheering)
01:09:33 I am too caught up with my identity
01:09:41 that I have failed to be relevant.
01:09:44 Yes.
01:09:48 Somebody in here, the Holy Spirit has been released
01:09:54 and God is reaching for you right now.
01:09:59 How do I know that?
01:10:00 If you're sitting here and feel like you need to come,
01:10:03 that is God using your mind to bring you to him.
01:10:09 Come.
01:10:10 Come.
01:10:11 Come.
01:10:13 Come.
01:10:15 If you're in this building and you have not received
01:10:18 the Holy Spirit that was released
01:10:21 and if you believe on him as the scripture has said,
01:10:24 that source of power will fall on you right now.
01:10:30 All you have to do is believe
01:10:35 and believing will motivate you to move from your seat
01:10:39 and if you have checked around you,
01:10:43 the greatest insurance you can have right now
01:10:45 is to know that my soul is right with God.
01:10:51 The road is rough and the going gets tough
01:10:58 and the hills are hard to climb.
01:11:05 Yeah.
01:11:06 I started out a long time ago.
01:11:13 Come on.
01:11:15 There is no doubt in my mind.
01:11:21 I decided to make Jesus my choice.
01:11:28 Jesus, make him my choice.
01:11:30 Make him my choice.
01:11:32 Make him my choice.
01:11:33 (upbeat music)
01:11:36 (thunder rumbling)
01:11:39 (upbeat music)
01:11:41 (thunder rumbling)
01:11:48 [BLANK_AUDIO]
