If you'll be traveling anywhere in the U.S. this Wednesday, AccuWeather's Geoff Cornish has your travel forecast to prepare for any possible delays.
Transcript
00:00 Stormy conditions in the Great Lakes area could slow you down if your travels take you through that region tomorrow.
00:05 Jeff Cornish has more in tonight's Travel Outlook.
00:08 Well by far the worst of the travel trouble in the nation on Wednesday will be near the southern half of the Great Lakes area.
00:15 So areas around Detroit and Toledo, even Chicago at times, into Cleveland later on.
00:20 We're going to have some nasty storms in this area and there will be some significant travel impacts,
00:25 again, beyond the ponding of water on the roads.
00:28 We could have some destructive winds and even the risk for isolated tornadoes with this setup.
00:33 So overall, this cluster of storms moving from the Midwest into parts of the Great Lakes region will be our main concern.
00:39 The Northwest looks pretty good here from a travel standpoint.
00:41 A little breezy in the afternoon in Reno. It'll be very warm there, a hot day.
00:45 But otherwise we're in pretty good shape. We'll also see a little bit of a breeze pick up into San Francisco in the afternoon.
00:50 And scattered thunderstorms will be popping around the Denver metro.
00:54 Not necessarily a guarantee in the city, but there could be some impacts near I-70 and I-25.
00:59 Also turning breezy in the afternoon into Casper.
01:01 Scattered storms also likely an issue near parts of the Dakotas.
01:06 So around Bismarck we could encounter a thunderstorm.
01:09 It'll be windy in the morning in Kansas City and a downright blistering afternoon. Very hot.
01:13 Travel weather looks good for the lower Mississippi Valley and the southern plains.
01:17 Into Florida still some spotty thunderstorms in the afternoons.
01:20 They don't look terribly widespread, but here's the main zone of travel trouble.
01:24 Primarily strong storms in the morning in Chicago.
01:26 Moving east, Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus, Indianapolis, all in that zone where severe weather will be a concern.
01:33 And into the New England state, scattered showers and storms will push into Buffalo and also Montreal.
01:37 But we're in pretty good shape for I-95 on our Wednesday.
01:40 Kind of a break in the action. Thursday some storms will return.
01:43 And we'll see some flight cancellations.
01:46 numbers will be down a bit compared to where we've been in recent days.
