Ron DeSantis has been bringing up his response to the COVID-19 pandemic on the campaign trail, pitching himself as the leader who protected personal freedoms over mask mandates. A new report from the New York Times now suggests that the governor's attitude toward vaccines may have directly correlated with an unnecessary spike in deaths throughout Florida during the Delta wave of the coronavirus in 2021.
