00:00 Your fight right here is what's gonna bust this thing wide open.
00:05 [crowd cheering]
00:06 AOC is on the picket lines.
00:08 Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America
00:13 picket lines in New York City on Monday, encouraging workers to keep fighting and taking aim at
00:19 executives and CEOs like David Zaslav.
00:22 At the end of the day, we are all confronting the same chasm, which is unacceptable,
00:27 unprecedented concentration of wealth and corporate greed in America,
00:32 but we know that the way that we bust that up is by standing together in solidarity.
00:38 The politician and activist picketed alongside members of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA
00:43 outside of the Netflix offices in downtown Manhattan.
00:46 While this is a fight against AI, more than AI, this is a fight against greed.
00:52 AOC also specifically took aim at Zaslav, saying,
00:55 "How many private jets does David Zaslav need? For real, how many private jets do the CEOs need?"
01:01 It is unacceptable. I do not know how any person can say,
01:08 "I need another $100 million or another person can have healthcare."
01:12 Ocasio-Cortez then joined in on the chants, such as "New York is a union town,"
01:16 and took selfies with many on the lines.
01:19 Elsewhere, other picketers included Tatiana Maslany, Sandra Bernhardt, and F. Murray Abraham.
01:24 Asked about Disney CEO Bob Iger's recent comments,
01:28 in which he called the strike "very disturbing" and called on the unions to "be realistic,"
01:33 Maslany said the executive was "completely out of touch."
01:37 "Having worked on a Disney show, I know where people fall through the cracks
01:40 and where people are taken advantage of.
01:42 And it's outrageous the amount of wealth that is not shared with the people who actually make the show.
01:47 That's crew, cast, writers."
01:49 White Lotus star F. Murray Abraham was also among those actors speaking up for those who make less.
01:55 "I'm a union man. Without a union, there's no middle class.
02:02 Without middle class, there's no democracy. Unions are good for America."
