00:00 It was a nightmare, absolute nightmare.
00:03 There were people screaming, crying,
00:06 people carrying little babies, little children,
00:10 trying to drag their suitcases.
00:12 Eventually we were told that the buses couldn't get through
00:15 and that we had to walk down this little dirt track
00:18 that was full of stones, pitch black,
00:21 bushes all around me.
00:23 I fell, hurt my leg, hurt my arms, everything.
00:26 My grandson had to get me up.
00:28 And this is what we had to do, we walked for about five miles.
00:31 Just not having any communication, not knowing what to do,
00:33 where to go, and being told to stay put by Jet 2,
00:37 but then having the military and the hotel staff
00:39 telling us that we had to leave.
00:41 Luckily enough we managed to pack up beforehand
00:43 because we got the alert to say that you had to evacuate,
00:46 but they were saying that we didn't have to,
00:48 so we just decided to start packing.
00:50 So we were lucky enough and fortunate enough
00:52 to have all our stuff with us.
00:54 But yeah, it was bedlam,
00:56 there was people everywhere and cushioning.
00:58 Yeah, it was a horrible, horrible experience.
01:00 I'm glad to be home.
