00:58 - Singapore would be in a better place
01:03 if we have a president who can rise above politics.
01:09 So as you know, I have not belonged to any political party
01:15 and I do not belong to any political party.
01:18 So I feel that as a politically neutral person
01:24 who can rise above politics,
01:28 I will be in a better position to help unify our country
01:32 so that our differences of views,
01:34 our differences of political affiliation
01:38 do not become divisions in our society
01:42 and tear our society apart.
01:45 So I think this balance can be better achieved
01:50 if we have a president who has never belonged
01:54 to any political party.
01:57 So I hope so.
01:59 I hope that the people of Singapore
02:02 will see that my political neutrality
02:05 will raise their confidence in me.
02:10 So when you say, "Would it raise my chances?"
02:13 I think more important thing is that it will raise the trust
02:16 and the confidence of the people in me.
