00:00 You can't be in this world without having some understanding about how precarious it is.
00:06 Unprecedented fires raging out of control.
00:09 I was in Sydney, Rachel rang to say I don't think the farm will be here tomorrow morning.
00:14 Fortunately we were spared, but what about next time?
00:18 What about the future our grandchildren will inherit?
00:21 And my farm manager Mick shared a revelation.
00:25 Agriculture is causing climate change, not just fossil fuels.
00:29 I was shocked to learn we were part of the problem.
00:32 What are we looking at?
00:33 Soil moisture or the lack of it.
00:35 It's pretty dead.
00:36 Dry, dead.
00:37 Regenerative farming is not to harm your land.
00:41 You're burying carbon rather than releasing it.
00:43 That is it.
00:45 The shift to regenes to combat climate change.
00:49 And that is what I'm going to commit every part of my being to.
00:53 We learnt about totally different grazing management.
00:58 No insecticides, no herbicides, some bio-fertilizer and making my own compost.
01:03 So much goes wrong.
01:06 It didn't look good for a while, but still I felt this driving urgency to show this type of farming could work.
01:13 But it wasn't long before we were in the middle of another huge climate crisis.
01:18 Was it hard? Very hard.
01:20 After the floods receded, we saw the immense amount of work that was ahead of us.
01:24 But that was nothing to what was to come.
01:27 Nature's never about one thing.
01:34 It's about a multitude of relationships.
01:39 Every animal is a vein to the main rope of this earth.
01:43 When you get things in balance, nature wakes up and starts to build on herself.
01:48 Oh my God, a whole family of them.
01:50 That just blows my mind.
01:52 Regen farming allows a more active role for women.
01:58 It's not as reliant on brute strength.
02:00 Oh, that looks fun.
02:01 I feel incredibly hopeful.
02:03 Just stand at the doorway.
02:06 I know that changing my farm is not going to change the world.
02:09 But if everybody does a little bit, we can.
02:12 My geese.
02:14 Are they coming?
02:15 Yeah.
02:16 Oh, nice.
02:17 [Laughter]
02:18 [Music]
