00:05 Yeah, the genesis for this documentary kind of came as,
00:09 I have a moment of reflection of thinking the 15 year kind of milestone
00:15 since our tournament run at Davidson back in 2008.
00:19 Working with Apple, A24, Unanimous Media, thinking about,
00:23 we're all in the business of trying to inspire and
00:27 connect with people from many different backgrounds.
00:31 And this is not just a sports story.
00:33 I think this is a story of developing and
00:35 embracing the underrated mindset as a badge of honor.
00:38 Finding what makes you different, what makes you unique,
00:41 really committing to it, surrounding yourself with amazing people.
00:46 To help support you through that journey and even just the ability to deal with
00:50 success and failure along the way and learning something about yourself.
00:54 It's all been very authentic to my journey and
00:57 it was a great time to kind of open up the veil and for me to share a little bit
01:02 about what makes me who I am and hopefully will inspire a lot of people.
01:07 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:14 Letting the crew around to shoot some of the scenes for the documentary was,
01:19 it's an interesting experience cuz you're just living your life and
01:23 speaking on what you know and kind of again, open up the veil a little bit.
01:29 I do play in front of 19,000 people every night on the court, so
01:34 it wasn't that different from that.
01:36 But again, it was all about just kind of being true to what life is like and
01:40 sharing as much as we can with the world.
01:43 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:50 Family to me is everything, I think if you look at some of the core memories of
01:55 my life on and off the basketball court.
01:57 There's usually an energy that comes from the support that you get from your family
02:03 and the confidence that you can do anything and
02:06 that they're always gonna be there to have your back.
02:10 And so whether it was coming to games or family gatherings or
02:15 just the ability to celebrate major milestones in life,
02:21 those are the memories that stand out the most.
02:25 And for me to be able to share all of my accomplishments with them is
02:30 the biggest thrill I think that you can get out of that.
02:34 [BLANK_AUDIO]
02:44 Throughout my career, embracing underrated as a badge of honor is
02:48 something that has kind of unlocked a new found confidence always for me.
02:54 And really inspired the work that I put into everything that I do,
02:58 because that's the only way that I can deserve confidence to be ready for
03:02 whatever the opportunity is that when it presents itself.
03:06 So even with all the accomplishments that I've had in my NBA career and
03:10 all that, I still carry that underrated mindset to this day.
03:14 It still gives me the gas in the tank to go and try to accomplish more.
03:21 And there's still gratitude and
03:24 appreciation for all the amazing experiences that I've been able to have.
03:28 Because of just sticking with that process and not really worrying about
03:32 the results and trusting and having faith that they will come.
03:36 [BLANK_AUDIO]
03:44 I hope audiences are inspired by, again,
03:47 understanding that we're all made different and unique.
03:51 That we're all here for a reason.
03:53 And once you find whatever that is, embrace it, run your own race.
04:00 Know that you have a lot to offer the world, and
04:02 whether you impact one person or a million people, that's enough.
04:06 And surrounding yourself with amazing people and
04:10 knowing that you don't do anything great or special in this world by yourself
04:14 is the most rewarding kind of feeling.
04:18 And this underrated documentary kinda shares what that means for me.
04:23 And it's not just a basketball story, it's not just a sports story,
04:26 it's hopefully something that will resonate with life.
