Last month, a 62-year-old Japanese diplomat was reportedly attacked by a US woman in Oregon. The incident was reported to be an anti-Asian hate crime. Yuzo Yoshioka is head of the consular office of Japan in Portland. According to reports, he was pushed to the ground by the woman while walking alone in the downtown area of the western US city around 1.20 pm local time on June 17. The woman was reportedly homeless.
