00:00 I'm in competition with myself every day.
00:02 It's only in rap that I keep believing in it
00:04 and that I fight every day for it to go well.
00:07 The first motivation was visibility.
00:17 Of course, we're not going to lie.
00:18 Why not take the bull too?
00:20 We had one of the two, it's already very good.
00:22 Big up my girl Zara who walked me through Instagram.
00:28 I never really said yes, I never really said no.
00:31 We went through the casting stages.
00:32 As long as there were no signed contracts,
00:34 no real commitments, there was nothing to lose.
00:36 So we kept saying yes and moving forward in the process.
00:40 And then we saw where it was taking us.
00:41 I wanted to go far in the adventure
00:46 so that people had time to take what I do,
00:48 what I propose and to attach to the character.
00:50 That was the main goal.
00:51 If we win, so much the better.
00:52 I'm in competition with myself every day.
00:56 I've never been competitive in the sports I've done in my life.
00:59 I've always stopped after a year.
01:01 It's only in rap that I keep believing in it
01:03 and that I fight every day for it to go well.
01:06 Once you're in the walls of the show,
01:10 there's no advantage, nothing different happens.
01:13 It's more in the audience where people will be able to say things like,
01:17 "Yeah, but he's in the music industry."
01:19 "He already has a career, he's been on tour."
01:22 Whereas there's a big gap between what people imagine and what really happens.
01:26 But I see SL Crack, I see El Pique,
01:28 which had a big buzz a few years ago with its LTF group.
01:31 I don't feel like I was the only one to have had a community or an audience at some point.
01:36 So I didn't say to myself, "I'm going to go to the finals more easily
01:40 because I did an interview with Mady Maisy."
01:42 And it had nothing to do with that.
01:45 I wanted to prove everything, like everyone else, at every event.
01:51 We all talked about it.
01:53 It was a matter of, "Are we going or not?"
01:55 "For now, as I said, we're still casting."
01:57 "If there's something to take, we're going to take it."
01:59 He didn't have a problem with a TV contest.
02:03 It's just, "What can it bring us?"
02:05 "Why would we go there?"
02:07 Those were the questions we asked ourselves.
02:09 He's someone I listened to, and that's an asset.
02:11 When we meet in the studio, on the writing, even on the show,
02:14 he's the one who made the big dates.
02:16 It's always cool to have his opinion, his background, and his experience.
02:20 He's the best, obviously.
02:21 You know what you're doing when you go there.
02:26 It's a TV show, it's a contest.
02:28 I know we're not there to show that we're the best rapper of all time.
02:31 We're there to win a contest at a certain point.
02:34 You win or not, when you win your battle,
02:37 you know you were the best in the battle.
02:39 That's all there is to know.
02:40 And we're there to entertain the people watching.
02:42 You're not going to prove to the whole world that you're the best rapper in the world.
02:45 Because given the conditions, we're stressed.
02:47 We're told at the last minute what beat we're going to have, the topics,
02:50 the fit we're going to have in the semifinals.
02:52 So no, you're not at your best level anyway.
02:54 But you're there to win the contest.
02:56 That's all, it's a game.
02:57 It's serious.
03:00 And even seeing me, it allowed me to have more hindsight on myself,
03:03 to know what I could improve.
03:05 How can I perceive myself, especially?
03:07 Because when you're the one who lives the thing,
03:09 you have less hindsight, obviously.
03:10 And it was really interesting, already for me,
03:12 in terms of managing my stress, managing the pressure,
03:14 and also being confident.
03:16 It was very beneficial.
03:18 I admit, it was a survival instinct, on certain things.
03:20 I struggled, and it was very tiring and very exhausting.
03:23 I'm introverted and shy, globally, let's say.
03:26 I went beyond that to go as far as possible.
03:28 It was the time of a moment.
03:33 We would never have done this song in other conditions,
03:35 because it represented the moment, really.
03:37 It was a Super Bowl thing, a victory, a grand final.
03:41 I told Zeke P, I want us to do a song as if we had already won.
03:44 And the song was well received, so I'm happy.
03:47 It feels really good to be in a concert.
03:49 We've already been able to test it a bit,
03:51 whether it's "Wheel of Green" with Lady Maisie or whatever.
03:53 I'm very happy to have done this song.
03:54 And I think it opened a door for us,
03:59 even for the audience who listen to us.
04:01 So it's cool.
04:02 At least people can be less surprised
04:04 if we go on this trend again,
04:06 on a few proposals in the next projects to come.
04:08 I especially wanted us to make songs we believe in.
04:13 There's another proposal in the project called "Romance"
04:15 that goes a little further in that direction.
04:17 I think that on a project,
04:19 you always need to have a more open song,
04:22 but without losing your basic identity and your soul,
04:25 in that sense.
04:26 And I think we managed to get that bet,
04:28 to have what people like about me on previous projects,
04:31 in a better way, more powerful,
04:33 and with proposals that are a bit surprising,
04:35 like "Romance" for example.
04:36 In fact, there aren't that many.
04:39 Obviously, there are a few, but it's very few.
04:42 And I have my "soldats sur"
04:45 who are super fast in terms of answers.
04:48 As soon as someone comes to attack,
04:50 they answer faster than me,
04:51 because I don't really answer anyway.
04:53 So I thank them and we're together.
04:54 I would advise them to rap for more than three years,
04:59 to be good and to prepare texts in advance.
05:02 And to trust each other and not to get angry,
05:04 and not to screw up.
05:05 Be careful, friends, everything is filmed.
05:06 I approached him.
05:10 We were in contact.
05:12 I had a song on which I saw him do a verse,
05:15 to take the song even further.
05:16 And I thought it was cool to have this affiliation,
05:19 you see, both of us,
05:20 after the whole world, France, saw us in battle.
05:23 Frankly, it was super fluid.
05:24 He did his verse,
05:25 and then we stayed until 4 in the morning
05:27 to talk about music and lots of other things in the studio.
05:30 And it was a great moment,
05:31 the moment of the "télèf".
05:32 He had listened to it before we realized what I was doing.
05:37 I know he liked it,
05:38 he liked the text,
05:39 because you can believe that he's not a good writer.
05:42 I think he writes very well.
05:43 And it made me happy that he likes my music.
05:45 We're not necessarily in contact,
05:47 but I know we're on good terms,
05:48 and if we see each other again, it's going to be fine.
05:50 Yeah, totally.
05:54 I know my grandmother doesn't particularly like the songs
05:56 where I talk about myself,
05:57 you see, the touching songs.
05:59 So it's going to be umbrella, my suitcases, one day.
06:01 But she always loved it.
06:03 Sometimes she doesn't understand everything she says,
06:05 because there's slang,
06:06 or it goes too fast in the diction,
06:08 you see.
06:09 So that's why the calm songs,
06:10 where I rap a little more written,
06:12 where you really understand what I'm saying,
06:13 are more the songs for her.
06:14 We already did a great Moroccan tour,
06:19 which went really well,
06:20 and that's great.
06:21 The project is well received,
06:22 so that's cool.
06:23 We even announced a 2023 tour
06:25 throughout the end of the year.
06:26 We are very happy to start this adventure.
06:29 I will be with my guy Sylar,
06:30 my favorite hype man DJ.
06:32 You have to come, quite simply.
06:33 That's going to be our next project.
06:35 I'm already thinking about the first album,
06:36 which will be called "Un Jour Sans Fin".
06:38 I say it now,
06:39 because it will definitely be that.
06:40 We're going to go full circle
06:41 with the next "Un Jour de Plus",
06:42 "Un Jour de Moins" that have already been released.
06:44 I know what my next project will be.
06:46 That's all I can tell you.
06:47 And then the goal is to tour
06:48 throughout France again and again.
06:50 Take your tickets,
06:51 take your places,
06:52 get ready, it's going to be hot.
06:53 I'll see you next time.
06:54 Salute.
