00:00 The police and MMDA are now watching the entry and exit points of NLEX.

00:05 A group of people are following the tracks to protest against the increase in tolls.

00:11 Cedric Castillo is reporting from there.

00:20 usually, vehicles are being collected to enter and exit North Luzon Expressway.

00:25 What if the plan of a transport group to block the entry and exit of NLEX continues?

00:31 Not only four-wheeled vehicles, but also trucks are being raised.

00:37 This is the complaint of the Central Luzon Alliance of Concerned Truck Owners Organization

00:42 as a protest against the increase in tolls on NLEX.

00:46 We are still consolidating our forces.

00:49 But we are sure that the forces will come from the various exits of NLEX.

00:55 On June 15, toll hikes on NLEX were implemented.

00:58 It was P19 to almost P100 added to the large trucks,

01:03 depending on whether the trip is open system, closed system or end-to-end.

01:08 According to the group, since then, a large amount of money was added to the operation of their trucks.

01:15 The haulage of these trucks, entry and exit of Metro Manila, is different.

01:20 That's why the additional expenses are not only exceeding.

01:24 This is a sure pass on to the consumers.

01:27 We are also reducing the additional rates to our clients.

01:35 It's not only the toll that is our problem, but also the expenses of diesel due to traffic.

01:42 The group sent a letter to the Toll Regulatory Board.

01:46 But according to the TRB, a formal petition is needed.

01:49 But the last line was already passed to protest against the increase in NLEX tolls.

01:56 We are asking our leaders to study if they can be given due course because the 90-day period is over

02:06 that they can file an opposition.

02:10 Despite that, the TRB called on the group to strictly regulate the drivers and commuters and to continue the plan.

02:19 We will do our best to regulate them so that they can be allowed to go out of the office.

02:25 We are hopeful that they will be very responsible that they will not create any inconvenience or discomfort to other drivers.

02:40 When there's traffic, we are also together.

02:50 According to the ACT-O, the PNP and MMDA deployed guards to various exits of NLEX.
