We celebrate Luton Town’s promotion to the Premier League and reflect on the rollercoaster ride that got them to his point.
We’ve been speaking to the Supporter Trust and a number of lifelong fans to reflect on the journey from being a Non League club just 9 years ago to playing in the Premier League.

00:00 How does it feel now to be back in the Premier League?
00:13 We had 10 years before I followed them home and away, so it's going to be interesting
00:19 to see how we cope this time around. Obviously there's far more money floating around and
00:24 we haven't got much of it, but hopes are high. We've got quite a strong defence, so
00:29 hopefully we can keep a few sides at bay. Kenilworth Road will play a big part if we
00:36 can get the crowd going on top of the visiting players. I think we've got a decent chance
00:42 of putting off a few good results.
00:44 Can you stay up?
00:46 Yeah, I think we finish 12th or 13th I reckon. Ask me again a month into the season and I
00:55 might have changed my mind.
00:56 I think they'll stay up. I'm not just saying that because I was born and bred in the town
00:59 and I follow them. I think they'll stay up. The football they were playing last season
01:05 was phenomenal for the budget they've got and the size of the club. They were outclassing
01:09 teams that have been in the Premier League, that probably should be Premier League teams.
01:13 They're a little bit too big for the Championship and I think they outclassed them on a few
01:17 occasions. They put a few wrongs to right with teams that they were losing to in the
01:21 seasons leading up to last season. So everyone was a bit pessimistic when it came to that
01:27 result but there were a few games that they beat people they weren't expecting to beat.
01:31 I think they'll make some headlines along the way next season, especially at the Kenny
01:34 because teams find it hard there. I genuinely believe they'll stay up.
01:38 What about when they come up against the champions Man City? I think you've got a foot in both
01:42 camps here haven't you?
01:43 I have, yeah. I've got family ties to Man City. What I've said to everybody is I'll
01:48 probably stay well away to be fair. It's head versus heart for me. I could put an optimistic
01:53 spin on it and say it's win-win if Man City, what they've just done at the Treble, the
02:00 next thing everyone says to me is 'what do you want Man City to do?' and I'd like
02:02 them to go invincible but at the same time if they're going to drop points to one team
02:05 next season it'll have to be Luton for me. So I'd be happy about that, it's win-win.
02:09 I love an underdog story so if Luton beat Man City, fair play to them and I'd be happy
02:12 for them. But I suppose I definitely wanted to beat Man United that way.
