Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe gets a bit too close to an overexuberant Rockies fan, who darted in from the outfield and tossed a t-shirt at the rookie before being tackled by guards

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe came uncomfortably close to an overexuberant fan in the midst of Saturday's game in Denver before security tackled the man.

The incident occurred during the eight inning of the Yankee's 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies.

Fan video from Coors Field shows the man sprinting in from the outfield towards second base with one security guard in pursuit.

As he approached Volpe, the man tossed a t-shirt at the Yankees rookie and appeared to yell something as he did so before being corralled by a quartet of guards.

It's unclear what the man was yelling at Volpe, and why he threw a t-shirt at the young shortstop.
