Hollywood Actors Set for Strike Action as Contract Talks Fail

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is on the brink of a strike after the guild and a trade association representing leading studios disagreed on a new contract. SAG-AFTRA seeks higher compensation and more significant safeguards on using artificial intelligence in the creative arts. The strike, limited to film and television productions, is expected to force other sets to go dark. It follows a strike by the Writers Guild of America, which halted most television production and delayed some movie filming. The Directors Guild of America reached a tentative agreement with the studios in early June.
