Chet Baker & Wolfgang Lackerschmid - album Ballads for two 1979

  • anno scorso
The album was recorded on the 8th and 9th January 1979 in Stuttgart, Germany, and was first released on Lackerschmid's Sandra Music Productions label, and of course had minimal sposnsorship and distribution. The album is composed of Lackerschmid's originals and well chosen covers. As suggested by the title, there are just two musicians and two instruments: Baker and his trumpet and Lackerschmid with his vibraphone. Baker's trumpet has a new breathier tone and is emotive and telepathic with the gleaming structures of icy glass evocated by Lackerschmid's vibes.

Chet Baker - trumpet.
Wolfgang Lackerschmid - vibraphone.

Wht shouldn't you cry?
Dessert.
Softly, as in a morning sunrise.
You don't know what love is.
Waltz for Susan.
