00:15:45 some of you, if you got here and church started at 10,
00:15:48 it doesn't matter what time it starts.
00:15:51 If it ain't a whole lot of people here,
00:15:52 you gonna sit outside until some people come in.
00:15:55 That's what they do at the club,
00:15:58 that's what they do in other places.
00:15:59 You don't wanna be the first.
00:16:00 You know the party started at 11 o'clock,
00:16:02 but you didn't leave home till 11
00:16:04 'cause you don't wanna be there first.
00:16:07 Y'all stay with me,
00:16:09 because we're talking about, somebody say time.
00:16:12 Now, that is true of most of us,
00:16:15 and it doesn't matter where you go,
00:16:17 you get 24 hours a day.
00:16:20 You get seven days in a week.
00:16:24 So when you look at somebody
00:16:26 who is more successful than you,
00:16:28 you have to ask yourself,
00:16:30 what did they do with their time
00:16:33 that you did not do with yours?
00:16:38 When you are praying and asking God
00:16:42 to help you pay a bill,
00:16:44 and somebody else is helping somebody else pay their bills,
00:16:48 you've gotta ask yourself,
00:16:50 what did that person do with their time
00:16:54 that you didn't do with yours?
00:16:56 When you woke up this morning,
00:16:58 what did I do with my time that you didn't do with yours?
00:17:01 When you woke up this morning,
00:17:03 what did you do with your time
00:17:04 that the person behind you did not do with theirs?
00:17:07 Because all of us have the same amount of time in a day.
00:17:12 Oprah Winfrey and the person under the bridge
00:17:14 has the same amount of time in a day.
00:17:17 So the question is not, I didn't have time to do it.
00:17:20 The question is, what did you do?
00:17:22 Come on, y'all.
00:17:24 With the time that you had.
00:17:29 If you graduated high school,
00:17:31 we were all in there for 12 years.
00:17:32 What did you do with your 12 years
00:17:34 that somebody else didn't do with theirs?
00:17:40 And college was available to you if you went
00:17:43 and you didn't go.
00:17:44 And some people are doing better
00:17:45 than people who went to college.
00:17:46 And I'm not saying either way.
00:17:48 I'm just trying to get you to understand
00:17:50 and think about time management.
00:17:52 What are you doing with your time?
00:17:55 And meanwhile, while I am doing all of this talk about time,
00:17:59 you leave America and time doesn't mean the same thing.
00:18:04 Okay?
00:18:06 Now, I said today we started at 10.
00:18:08 What time did we start?
00:18:10 10.
00:18:11 Now, I preach in Africa three times a year.
00:18:13 We ain't never started.
00:18:15 At the time they said we were supposed to start.
00:18:19 They told me church starts at seven.
00:18:21 Me and my wife are in the lobby at 740
00:18:24 waiting on them to show up.
00:18:25 And here I am frustrated like,
00:18:28 what's wrong with people who don't value time?
00:18:33 And it brings out American colloquialisms
00:18:37 'cause we say stuff like, don't waste my time.
00:18:42 We say stuff like time is money.
00:18:44 Are you with me so far?
00:18:46 Don't waste my time.
00:18:47 Time is money.
00:18:48 Because look at how we look at time.
00:18:50 And when I get to dig deep down in it,
00:18:54 look at our history.
00:18:55 We even have in our language specialized phrases
00:19:00 to help us to be able to differentiate between time,
00:19:03 past, present, and future.
00:19:05 I was preaching.
00:19:07 I am preaching.
00:19:09 I will preach.
00:19:10 Because even in our language,
00:19:12 we are able to differentiate between time.
00:19:15 But when I was in seminary,
00:19:17 my Greek professor H. Wayne House taught us
00:19:20 that in the Greek language,
00:19:21 they have something called the aorist tense.
00:19:24 And the aorist tense is when a verb is in the past.
00:19:27 I thought I had Greek only to get there the next week
00:19:30 for him to teach us that there is past aorist
00:19:33 and future aorist.
00:19:34 So that means in Greek,
00:19:36 the past can be in the future.
00:19:38 So y'all gonna go to sleep
00:19:41 and you're gonna be sleeping when the message come.
00:19:43 And when it drop, you're gonna be asleep.
00:19:44 That's why only 1% of y'all gonna get it.
00:19:46 In Greek, the past can be in the future and in the present.
00:19:51 Because they don't differentiate time
00:19:55 like we differentiate time.
00:19:57 In the English language,
00:19:58 we can fluctuate between time without effort.
00:20:01 I'm speaking.
00:20:02 I spoke.
00:20:03 I will speak.
00:20:05 On the contrary, watch this.
00:20:06 In Indonesia, they have no verb tense.
00:20:11 God help me in this place today.
00:20:14 So watch this.
00:20:15 In Indonesia, there is a term called sayang.
00:20:19 Everybody say sayang.
00:20:21 S-I-A-N-G, sayang.
00:20:23 What does sayang mean?
00:20:24 Sayang means when the sun begins to get hot.
00:20:31 So if you ask a person in Indonesia,
00:20:35 when does church start?
00:20:36 They don't say 10 o'clock.
00:20:37 They say church starts when it gets hot.
00:20:41 Lord, I'm telling you, listen,
00:20:44 Kayla, 50% of them gonna miss it.
00:20:46 But the 50% of y'all who got enough attention
00:20:49 to stay focused longer than three minutes,
00:20:51 your life is about to change.
00:20:52 Church starts when it gets hot.
00:20:56 When is church over?
00:20:57 Sore.
00:20:58 Church is over when everybody gets what they need.
00:21:01 Okay?
00:21:05 So what I learned when I went to Africa,
00:21:07 they are not not starting church at seven o'clock
00:21:12 because the host is not worried about time.
00:21:15 He understands that everybody doesn't have a vehicle
00:21:18 like you have, and the road to get to the church
00:21:21 is only two lanes, so everybody has to come in
00:21:24 on the same artery.
00:21:25 So the reason why they delay church
00:21:27 is not because they are not time conscious.
00:21:30 They understand church doesn't start until it's hot.
00:21:34 And the reason why you can go to Africa
00:21:38 and church can last four, five, six, seven hours
00:21:41 is because they understand that church
00:21:43 should not be over until everybody gets.
00:21:45 And the reason why we got rich Americans
00:21:50 who are still depressed and still rejected and insecure
00:21:54 is because we got God on a watch.
00:21:57 And if he don't act in the next 60 minutes,
00:22:00 we gonna get on Instagram and go to sleep.
00:22:02 But for those of y'all who gonna wait
00:22:04 on the fullness of time.
00:22:05 Touch your neighbor and say, "I'm gonna wait on God.
00:22:10 "I'm gonna wait on God.
00:22:10 "I'm gonna wait on God."
00:22:12 Indonesians say church starts, listen,
00:22:15 we not starting church until everybody
00:22:18 who needs to be in the room is in the room.
00:22:20 And we're not ending church
00:22:22 until everybody gets a breakthrough.
00:22:25 The problem with Americans is because we are
00:22:27 so time conscious and so arrogant,
00:22:30 we think that God does thing on a clock
00:22:33 like we expect things to be done on a clock.
00:22:35 But God says, "I don't know where you got that from
00:22:38 "because to me a day is a thousand years
00:22:40 "and a thousand years is but a day.
00:22:42 "I don't keep time like you keep time.
00:22:44 "Time is too small for me.
00:22:46 "I don't do anything in time, but I do things on time
00:22:50 "because I am not able to fit in time.
00:22:52 "I can ride in your life on time."
00:22:56 So what I'm trying to tell you today
00:22:58 is that sometimes you gotta wait on the Lord
00:23:00 because God is not going to give you a boot
00:23:03 just because you turn 30.
00:23:04 And just because you gonna have a high-risk pregnancy
00:23:07 after 35, you asking God to do it right now.
00:23:10 God says, "I'm not doing it right now
00:23:12 "because your life ain't in order
00:23:14 "for me to give you what you want.
00:23:16 "I'm not giving you what you want in time,
00:23:19 "but I will give it to you in the fullness."
00:23:22 (congregation cheering)
00:23:25 So God says, "I'm gonna start
00:23:30 "when everybody in your life needs to be there."
00:23:33 Oh God, help me, mighty Jesus.
00:23:37 And I'm gonna start when you get the folks
00:23:40 out of your church that ain't supposed to be in your church
00:23:43 and get the people in your life,
00:23:45 that's a metaphor, that are supposed to be there.
00:23:48 I'm gonna give it to you when the fullness of time comes.
00:23:51 I'm gonna give it to you when your jealous friends
00:23:53 ain't gonna hate on you and try to tear it down.
00:23:55 I'm gonna give it to you when you get
00:23:57 that no good person you dating out of your life
00:23:59 you know that I told you to get rid of a long time ago.
00:24:01 And so since you wanna stay in your circumstance,
00:24:04 you gonna stay out of my blessing.
00:24:06 (congregation cheering)
00:24:10 Oh, look at your neighbor and say, "You might as well cry
00:24:13 "'cause he gonna smack you right upside your head."
00:24:15 Because some of y'all trying to negotiate with God.
00:24:17 Well, God, just let me just keep him for another six months
00:24:20 to see how it's gonna work out.
00:24:21 God, let me just stay here for another five months
00:24:24 to see how it's gonna work out.
00:24:25 God says, "I ain't giving you nothing
00:24:26 "because if I give you what you're asking for,
00:24:28 "you gonna share it with somebody I don't want to have it."
00:24:31 (congregation cheering)
00:24:34 Slap five, people say, "He talking to you."
00:24:36 And I ain't scared of none of you.
00:24:38 I came to break curses.
00:24:40 I came to slay demons and devils.
00:24:42 I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly.
00:24:45 And it ain't gonna happen a moment too soon.
00:24:48 (congregation cheering)
00:24:51 And guess what?
00:24:54 Guess what?
00:24:55 Anybody who's been a part of this church a long time
00:24:57 will tell you, "I don't shut up 'cause you don't say amen."
00:25:01 You can unfold your arms
00:25:05 and take that scour off of your face
00:25:07 'cause I came to fight the devil today
00:25:09 because we have been in church and in God too long
00:25:13 to still be begging for a cell phone bill.
00:25:18 You have been saved too long to still be crying
00:25:20 about not being able to fill up your gas tank.
00:25:23 God said, "I have come that you may have life
00:25:25 "and have it more abundantly."
00:25:26 You've got to ask yourself,
00:25:27 "What is it about my life
00:25:30 "that keeps me from having abundance?"
00:25:32 (congregation cheering)
00:25:34 You think God picked you to just be broke forever?
00:25:38 What purpose does it serve?
00:25:45 Why would he pick you above everybody else
00:25:49 to suffer for no reason at all?
00:25:51 It ain't like you got a television program.
00:25:53 It ain't like if you struggle,
00:25:55 millions of people are gonna be changed.
00:25:57 Don't nobody know you but the folk who know you.
00:26:00 So why?
00:26:03 Why are you robbing Peter to pay Paul?
00:26:12 Why are you depressed five days out of every week?
00:26:16 Why can't you ever get the breakthrough
00:26:22 that everybody else experiences?
00:26:25 What is it about what you're doing with your time
00:26:30 that keeps it from being your time?
00:26:34 Lord, help me in this place today.
00:26:39 (congregation cheering)
00:26:43 In Africa, in Indonesia, watch this,
00:26:47 they understand that effectiveness
00:26:50 is more important than schedule.
00:26:52 Literally.
00:26:56 Church can start at six,
00:27:00 and I've been in there at one o'clock,
00:27:03 and people are still praising God,
00:27:05 and they walked to church.
00:27:10 You spoiled Americans.
00:27:12 You drove here in air-conditioned cars
00:27:16 and still walked in with an attitude.
00:27:18 Oh, come on, help me, somebody.
00:27:22 We got air-conditioned in this building.
00:27:23 It ain't as cold as it need to be,
00:27:25 but go to church in Africa.
00:27:27 It ain't hot as it could be,
00:27:28 and let me tell you right now,
00:27:29 it's hotter in Houston than it is in Africa.
00:27:32 It's 172 degrees outside right now.
00:27:37 It was 101 this morning.
00:27:38 (congregation laughing)
00:27:42 You ate breakfast, or you could have.
00:27:44 You rode here.
00:27:47 You have a seat.
00:27:48 You have lights.
00:27:49 You have electricity.
00:27:51 You have air conditioning.
00:27:52 In churches that I preach at in Africa,
00:27:55 you can only flush the toilet on certain days.
00:27:58 They have the tub full of water
00:28:03 so that in order to flush the toilet,
00:28:04 you have to get a bucket out of the tub
00:28:06 'cause they filled it up on the days
00:28:07 they could have water,
00:28:09 and to flush the toilet, you take the bucket
00:28:11 and you pour it down the toilet to flush the toilet,
00:28:14 and yet they are praising God
00:28:17 with an extreme amount of joy,
00:28:20 and yet...
00:28:21 (congregation applauding)
00:28:26 I'm looking at some of y'all
00:28:28 with your Zara and your Fashion Nova on
00:28:30 looking at me like God ain't been good.
00:28:34 That's why it ain't your time yet
00:28:36 because you don't understand that God
00:28:37 don't show up until it gets hot.
00:28:40 I need every cold person in the room to get out
00:28:43 'cause all of us hot folks are about to get it on in here.
00:28:46 I want you to make sure you look down your row
00:28:48 and tell everybody he ain't coming until it gets hot.
00:28:51 He's not coming until everybody on our row
00:28:53 is on one accord.
00:28:55 He's not coming until everybody in the room...
00:28:57 (congregation applauding)
00:29:01 Watch this.
00:29:03 The benefit of starting a service
00:29:05 when everybody arrives is you know for sure
00:29:07 that everybody who's there means to be there.
00:29:10 Because if Americans, if we come to church at 10 o'clock
00:29:15 and at 10.45 it hasn't started yet, we going home.
00:29:19 So maybe sometime we might need to do that
00:29:22 to separate the wheat.
00:29:23 (congregation applauding)
00:29:27 One day I might start church late
00:29:28 just to see who will sit and wait on the Lord
00:29:30 because they that wait on the Lord
00:29:33 shall renew their strength.
00:29:34 They will mount up with wings like eagles.
00:29:36 They will walk and not be weary.
00:29:37 They will run and not faint.
00:29:39 Can I just get about 16 people in here right now
00:29:42 to make this room hot so the Holy Spirit
00:29:45 can show up and do what he's supposed to do.
00:29:47 (congregation applauding)
00:29:51 Tell somebody, say, I'm waiting on God.
00:29:59 Like I told you, in Indonesia they wait,
00:30:01 watch this, they're waiting on everybody
00:30:02 who's supposed to be in the room to be in the room
00:30:04 before they can start church.
00:30:05 And let me tell you right now,
00:30:07 some of y'all got to get some people out of your life
00:30:09 because everybody who's supposed to be in your life
00:30:11 is not in your life.
00:30:12 And so God says, I'm going to delay.
00:30:14 I'm going to delay because if I show up too soon,
00:30:17 you're going to have some haters
00:30:18 who are going to talk you out of what I'm doing for you.
00:30:20 They're going to change your mood.
00:30:21 You're going to get an attitude.
00:30:23 So I need you to get your life in order
00:30:25 because I'm not going to do it a moment too soon.
00:30:27 Somebody shout, get your life in order.
00:30:32 He didn't do it in the last season of your life
00:30:33 because you had too many haters in it.
00:30:35 He didn't do it in the last season of your life
00:30:39 because you had too many fake friends in it.
00:30:41 He didn't do it in the last season of your life
00:30:44 because you were in a relationship
00:30:45 that was never going anywhere.
00:30:47 He didn't do it in the last season of your life
00:30:49 because you had a negative mindset
00:30:50 and if he would have gave you some positive,
00:30:52 you would have still complained anyway.
00:30:54 God says, I'm going to do it in the fullness of time.
00:30:56 So when you get your attitude together
00:30:57 and your relationships together
00:30:59 and you get your friendships together
00:31:00 and you get your money together
00:31:02 and you get your worship life together
00:31:03 and you get your tithe life together
00:31:05 and you get all, then, then, then I'll show up.
00:31:08 And that's why you see some of us with it
00:31:15 and some of us without it
00:31:18 because some of us have acquiesced our life
00:31:22 for a miracle to reside.
00:31:24 God says, I will not put new wine
00:31:29 (congregation cheering)
00:31:30 in old wine skins.
00:31:32 How many of y'all ever heard that scripture?
00:31:34 He doesn't put new wine in old wine skin.
00:31:36 Who needs me to explain what that means?
00:31:38 He won't put new wine in old wine skins.
00:31:40 All right.
00:31:41 So in the days of Jesus, they did not have bottles like us.
00:31:46 They made their contraptions to hold their liquids
00:31:50 out of animal skin.
00:31:52 Are you listening to me?
00:31:57 Animal skin, just like the leather you wear,
00:32:01 is only good when it has elasticity.
00:32:04 That's why it has to be kept in a certain area.
00:32:10 If you leave leather outside in the sun, it will dry out
00:32:15 and what will happen when you put stress on it?
00:32:18 It'll tear easily.
00:32:20 So the reason why God says, I don't put new wine
00:32:23 in old wine skins is because wine, watch this,
00:32:26 and that's why it has a cork.
00:32:27 If you ever notice when you pop the top on something
00:32:30 that has bubbles in it, it makes that noise.
00:32:32 Why?
00:32:33 'Cause it's under pressure.
00:32:34 It's under pressure.
00:32:35 So God says, so what I'm putting in you is so high octane,
00:32:39 it's under pressure, but if I put it in something,
00:32:43 because the wine is gonna expand,
00:32:47 so if the skin can't handle the wine,
00:32:50 then the wine will rip and the wine, excuse me,
00:32:53 the skin will rip and the wine will spill on the ground.
00:32:56 So he says, I won't put my wine in something that'll rip.
00:33:01 I can't put new wine in old wine skins.
00:33:04 Maybe you don't drink wine, maybe you drink Pepsi.
00:33:06 You know how it get flat?
00:33:07 You can put flat Pepsi in an old wine skin.
00:33:13 You can't put new Pepsi in an old wine skin
00:33:17 because it'll start to expand.
00:33:20 God says, if you don't have expansive qualities,
00:33:24 if you're not renewing your mind, help me, Holy Spirit,
00:33:27 if you're not renewing your heart,
00:33:29 then I can't pour myself in you
00:33:31 because if you're old and rigid,
00:33:33 you're gonna rip and spill me on the ground.
00:33:35 And if I wanted my glory on the ground,
00:33:40 I would've put it there, but I'm trying to put it in you.
00:33:44 And so in order for me to put myself in you,
00:33:45 you're gonna have to constantly renew yourself
00:33:48 so that you can contain me.
00:33:50 Anybody who doesn't renew their mind cannot contain God.
00:33:55 (congregation cheering)
00:33:58 Are you listening to me?
00:34:01 And so God says, I'm waiting on the fullness of time.
00:34:04 I'm waiting on you to get the right heart,
00:34:08 the right perspective,
00:34:11 the right outlook,
00:34:15 because if I give it to you
00:34:18 and you feel like I gave you the victory,
00:34:19 will you boast in the face of the person you defeated?
00:34:22 If I give you a victory with a defective method,
00:34:30 then you will think that I blessed that kind of behavior.
00:34:35 So I'm waiting on your heart, your mind, your soul,
00:34:40 your money, your friendships,
00:34:42 I'm waiting on you to get all of that together.
00:34:44 Somebody say the fullness of time.
00:34:46 Say it again, the fullness of time.
00:34:48 - The fullness of time.
00:34:49 - Listen, and I still have to explain to you
00:34:53 one key element to this before I'm done,
00:34:55 but I want you to think about when Jesus was born.
00:34:58 This is how you'll know what kind of mindset you have.
00:35:00 There was an evil king named Herod.
00:35:02 And when Jesus was born, King Herod told the Magi,
00:35:07 he said, I need you all to tell me
00:35:09 the exact moment you saw the star.
00:35:14 Because a carnal mindset is always worried about time.
00:35:19 When is it gonna be over?
00:35:20 When is it gonna start?
00:35:23 Y'all ain't listening to me.
00:35:25 Some of y'all here right now like,
00:35:26 whoo, what time church gonna be over?
00:35:27 Carnal.
00:35:28 Listen, anybody in the spirit right now,
00:35:32 you're not even time conscious.
00:35:35 And listen, if you are spiritual,
00:35:37 why would you plan anything for right after church?
00:35:42 As if you know when church is gonna be over, carnal.
00:35:45 You haven't even left God enough time to do a miracle
00:35:50 'cause you got reservations at 1:15.
00:35:52 So if he did show up, he gotta be done by one
00:35:56 'cause it's 15 minutes from here.
00:35:58 I gotta add a two-faced too.
00:36:07 (congregation laughing)
00:36:10 Oh God, help me.
00:36:15 Y'all got me online 'cause they ain't helping me in here.
00:36:16 They don't like it.
00:36:17 Time.
00:36:22 I don't like going to church in the middle of the week.
00:36:26 Well, what if that's when God wants to deliver?
00:36:28 (congregation cheering)
00:36:31 I don't church two hours, that's enough for me.
00:36:35 Okay, but what if God wanted to deliver at the third hour?
00:36:38 Okay.
00:36:44 And here's why we suffer.
00:36:46 Because in America or in the Western hemisphere,
00:36:49 when we say time, we think chronos.
00:36:53 Chronology, clock.
00:36:56 God, I wanna be married by 25.
00:37:01 I wanna have a baby by 28.
00:37:02 I wanna have a house by, look at, look at.
00:37:04 How many, come on now.
00:37:05 I wanna be in my career by da da da.
00:37:10 We always got God on a time that suits our comfort.
00:37:15 God says, I don't care nothing about your age.
00:37:22 I'm not looking at your age.
00:37:26 I'm looking at your stage.
00:37:29 What stage of life are you in?
00:37:34 Are you still mean?
00:37:36 Do you still like to get even?
00:37:40 Do you still hold grudges for years?
00:37:46 'Cause if you're still doing that, baby,
00:37:47 the fullness of time hasn't come.
00:37:49 'Cause obviously all of those tragedies you've been through
00:37:52 hadn't taught you the lesson I wanted you to learn.
00:37:54 Every pain you have been through
00:37:59 was designed to teach you how to handle
00:38:01 what you're going through.
00:38:02 If you don't learn the lesson of that grade level,
00:38:05 you have to repeat the class.
00:38:07 (congregation cheering)
00:38:10 Raise your hand if you've ever flunked.
00:38:13 You are literally asking God for a high school diploma
00:38:22 on a sixth grade tolerance level.
00:38:29 Why would I give a miracle to somebody that mentally,
00:38:33 emotionally, and spiritually immature?
00:38:35 You think I'm gonna let you embarrass me?
00:38:40 It ain't coming, listen to me, until when?
00:38:47 The fullness, say it again, the what?
00:38:51 Chronos.
00:38:58 Chronos.
00:39:00 This is our problem, 'cause we do everything by time.
00:39:04 If it don't happen by the 30th, then it ain't God.
00:39:09 God, if it's you, show me by Wednesday.
00:39:15 'Cause on Thursday, I'm gonna do it my way.
00:39:19 Come on, talk to your boy, holler at your boy.
00:39:21 How many of y'all put God on the clock?
00:39:23 Come on.
00:39:23 I'm assuming the rest of y'all arms are sore
00:39:28 from the workout you had yesterday.
00:39:29 I said raise your hand if you put God on the clock.
00:39:33 Look around, don't put 'em down, look around.
00:39:35 Every one of us.
00:39:39 Every one of us, God I want it by,
00:39:43 and then we guilt him, we guilt trip God.
00:39:47 I've been dealing with this for,
00:39:49 God wanna say, I've been dealing with you
00:39:56 for longer than you've been dealing with it.
00:39:59 Chronos.
00:40:04 And at a glance out of the arrogance we have,
00:40:07 we think God does things the way,
00:40:11 but his ways are not our ways.
00:40:14 His thoughts are not our thoughts.
00:40:17 God wasn't born in America.
00:40:20 He doesn't have a Houstonian point of view.
00:40:24 (audience murmurs)
00:40:27 Are you listening to me?
00:40:28 He doesn't think like us.
00:40:31 So this frame of mind influences how we see God
00:40:35 and how we are patient through our trials and tribulations.
00:40:39 And so we do things chronologically.
00:40:43 God says, if you read the scripture,
00:40:47 I use the word kairos twice as much in the scripture
00:40:52 as I do chronos.
00:40:53 Chronos is calendar, a clock.
00:40:58 Kairos is not about time, it's about season.
00:41:07 Lord help me.
00:41:11 So when the Bible says to everything under the heavens,
00:41:15 there is a time, not a five o'clock, but a season.
00:41:21 God help me in this place.
00:41:24 Paul said in Galatians four, he says,
00:41:25 when the fullness of time has come,
00:41:28 God sent forth a son born of a woman under the law.
00:41:31 God wasn't waiting on the calendar to send Jesus.
00:41:35 God was waiting on a period in history
00:41:40 in which the conditions were correct for Christ.
00:41:45 God help me.
00:41:47 I know it is.
00:41:50 It's something I already know everybody ain't gonna get it.
00:41:52 Listen, God isn't looking at a clock to bless you.
00:41:57 He's not looking at your age.
00:42:04 You're the only one talking about you're too old.
00:42:07 You're the only one talking about you're too young.
00:42:12 God says, I'm not looking at your age.
00:42:15 I'm looking at your stage.
00:42:18 He says, and when you are ready,
00:42:22 I don't care if you're 14 or 40,
00:42:24 when you are ready, I will send you
00:42:27 what you're ready to have.
00:42:31 He's waiting on the right conditions
00:42:35 until you have the right people in your life,
00:42:37 until you have the right mindset,
00:42:39 until you have the right skillset,
00:42:41 and the blessing isn't coming a moment too soon.
00:42:44 It is not coming under the current mindset.
00:42:47 God is waiting on the Kairos to take place in your life.
00:42:51 In fact, I just thought about this.
00:42:52 This is Steve Taylor right here.
00:42:53 Steve started a security company,
00:42:55 and the name of the security company is Kairos Security.
00:42:58 Now what you understand about that is when I met Steve,
00:43:04 Steve was in a trailer printing T-shirts.
00:43:07 Now he has a multimillion dollar security company
00:43:13 called Kairos.
00:43:14 (audience applauding)
00:43:17 When I met him, he was getting paid chronologically.
00:43:23 Now he's getting paid in Kairos.
00:43:27 Y'all not listening to me in here.
00:43:29 I'm about to help you.
00:43:32 How many of y'all still got a moment?
00:43:34 I'm about to show you something
00:43:35 that's gonna blow your mind.
00:43:36 But I need you to shout it, shout Kairos.
00:43:40 In both Jewish and in Greek cultures,
00:43:44 there was something called a coming of age ceremony, okay,
00:43:48 where the boy stopped being a child,
00:43:51 and he started to become a man.
00:43:54 But in the Roman custom, there was no specific age
00:43:57 when a son became a man.
00:43:59 Listen to me.
00:44:00 A son became a man in biblical times
00:44:03 when his father said he was one.
00:44:06 I don't know if they heard me.
00:44:12 I'm from Rome, I don't know if they heard me.
00:44:14 In America, your boy is a man at 18.
00:44:19 In America, your boy is grown at 21.
00:44:24 In the culture Paul was in,
00:44:26 the father could decide that the boy was a man
00:44:30 when he displayed the characteristics.
00:44:33 So he might have one son that was 12 and was already a man
00:44:39 and have another son that was 18 that wasn't a man yet
00:44:42 because the child did not become a man
00:44:45 until the father said.
00:44:46 What if I told you that the only reason why
00:44:53 God hasn't given you the benefits of your adulthood yet
00:44:56 is he's looking at you and saying,
00:44:58 "You are still not ready.
00:45:05 You're not going to get it until the father says so."
00:45:09 Ooh, Jesus, I'm preaching.
00:45:12 Preach, Kion.
00:45:14 Today, I ain't gonna say nothing.
00:45:15 I think I will.
00:45:16 You're not getting it until the father says so.
00:45:21 Not when you get a mustache.
00:45:23 Not because you got money in your pocket.
00:45:29 Not even because you got a career.
00:45:32 Not because you got a lot of followers on social media.
00:45:36 Not because you're the manager at the job
00:45:38 'cause you can still be in charge and be immature.
00:45:41 Paul says, "You will not get it
00:45:48 until the father appoints the time
00:45:52 and you have to show him that you're ready."
00:45:54 Watch what they used to do in the days of the Romans.
00:45:58 A child, whatever they had as a child, as a toy,
00:46:01 they had to give it to the god Apollo
00:46:04 as a way of a rite of passage to say, "I'm grown now."
00:46:07 So if a girl had a doll, she had to give it to Apollo.
00:46:09 If a boy had a toy, he had to give it to Apollo
00:46:12 to say that, "No wonder Paul said, 'When I was a child,
00:46:16 I thought like a child, I understood like a child,
00:46:21 I spoke as a child,
00:46:22 but when I put away childish thinking and speaking,
00:46:26 when I was a child, I speak as a child,
00:46:31 I understood as a child, I thought as a child,
00:46:32 but when I put away childish things."
00:46:35 So God says, "Listen,
00:46:40 you're still too petty to be picked."
00:46:45 Slap your neighbor, mighty God, mighty God.
00:46:59 God said, "You ain't gave me your doll yet.
00:47:01 You haven't given me your baseball yet."
00:47:06 Whatever that thing is, that childish thing in you,
00:47:09 you ain't gave me that childish thing yet,
00:47:12 so you're not ready to be a man,
00:47:14 you're not ready to be a woman
00:47:15 because you haven't put away childish thinking
00:47:18 and speaking and seeing.
00:47:19 You still see like a child, you still think like a child,
00:47:22 and when you angry, you still speak like a child,
00:47:24 and so you are not a man or a woman yet,
00:47:26 and I cannot give you the blessings of an adult."
00:47:29 So that's why all of your blessings are small,
00:47:32 'cause they are the same size as you.
00:47:34 Just in case you thought I was scared,
00:47:42 I said, "Your blessings are the same size as you."
00:47:47 Now, if you understand the word of God
00:47:57 and you understand the authority of a prophet
00:47:59 and a priest and a preacher,
00:48:00 you understand that those whom he love, he also chastises,
00:48:03 and you have to understand that I am challenging you
00:48:05 to get out of your way.
00:48:07 I'm challenging you to get out of your way.
00:48:13 Why are you waiting so long to be you?
00:48:17 You should have been rich a long time ago.
00:48:24 You should have been married a long time ago.
00:48:27 You should have been debt-free a long time ago.
00:48:29 Your depression should have been gone a long time ago.
00:48:32 Your anxiety should have been gone a long time ago,
00:48:35 but you still see, think, and speak childish.
00:48:37 Man, when I read comments on social media,
00:48:45 we're just a world full of children.
00:48:47 I can't believe that we're making light
00:48:52 and making fun and memes about a submarine
00:48:56 imploding with five human beings.
00:48:59 Are we silly?
00:49:00 That's somebody's daddy and son, and we're joking?
00:49:06 But when it is our family,
00:49:07 we come into the altar asking for a miracle.
00:49:09 And your family may not be dying in a submarine,
00:49:14 but they could be dying for substandards
00:49:19 called poverty and jealousy and envy and anger and hatred.
00:49:24 It is amazing what we are.
00:49:32 We have no sympathy or empathy for anybody,
00:49:38 but when we going through,
00:49:39 we want the whole world to be at attention.
00:49:42 Why are we laughing at this?
00:49:45 They shouldn't have went down there.
00:49:48 Well, you went a whole lot of places you shouldn't have went
00:49:50 and you came back alive.
00:49:52 Come on.
00:49:53 You've been in your own submarines.
00:49:56 You've been in some beds you shouldn't have been in.
00:49:59 For some people, you just met that day.
00:50:01 Come on, come on, come on.
00:50:17 And yet you came out alive.
00:50:18 Why?
00:50:19 'Cause it wasn't your time.
00:50:20 We gotta grow up.
00:50:37 It ain't cute no more, church.
00:50:42 This is serious business.
00:50:47 (congregation laughing)
00:50:49 Don't you get wrapped up in the trick of the enemy.
00:50:51 I saw a man, he drew a diagram on Instagram yesterday.
00:50:58 He drew a circle right here
00:51:00 and then he drew another circle right here.
00:51:04 And he put an X and he says, this is my business.
00:51:07 And this is your business.
00:51:11 Then he put another X and said,
00:51:12 you have no business being in my business.
00:51:14 So I'm gonna need you to go over here
00:51:16 and get in your business.
00:51:18 And then he drew another circle and said,
00:51:19 this is called a child's place.
00:51:21 And if you are a child,
00:51:23 I need you to get out of my business
00:51:24 and get in a child's place.
00:51:26 And if you are not handling your business,
00:51:27 then you are in a child's place.
00:51:30 You need to mind the business that pay you.
00:51:37 Some of y'all know something about everybody's life.
00:51:43 You know who dating who, you know who with who,
00:51:45 you online searching and you don't know nothing
00:51:47 about your destiny.
00:51:48 Get out of other folks' business
00:51:50 and find out what God is doing with you
00:51:52 so the fullness of time can come
00:51:53 and you can get your family out of poverty
00:51:55 and you can get your daughter an education
00:51:58 and you can get your son a scholarship.
00:51:59 Come on, talk to me, somebody.
00:52:01 It's time.
00:52:02 When the fullness of time has come.
00:52:09 I thought as a child, I spoke as a child,
00:52:15 I understood as a child.
00:52:16 And so as a result of being a child,
00:52:18 I can't get the blessing
00:52:20 because you do not give the miracle
00:52:24 to a person who's not at the certain stage.
00:52:27 Watch this.
00:52:28 And in those days,
00:52:30 watch this, hear me.
00:52:32 If a father had a son,
00:52:35 anybody still learning anything?
00:52:37 When a father had a son,
00:52:40 he was the heir to the father's inheritance.
00:52:44 And yet, before the father made him a man,
00:52:48 he had less authority in the house
00:52:50 than the father's slaves.
00:52:52 Did you hear what I just said?
00:52:59 What I had just said was,
00:53:00 he was the father's son,
00:53:06 but he had less freedom than the father's slave.
00:53:10 Because until you become a man or a woman,
00:53:13 you are beneath the slave in the father's house.
00:53:15 So sometimes you look at folks
00:53:20 and you think they doing better than me.
00:53:22 All they are is slaves.
00:53:25 Doing a little better than you
00:53:27 until you grow up and get your inheritance.
00:53:30 And why are you letting slaves live better than you?
00:53:41 You got people in the world who don't believe in God
00:53:44 living better than you.
00:53:45 They are slaves in the house of God.
00:53:48 The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous.
00:53:50 If you hurry up and grow up,
00:53:52 the shift can take place.
00:53:53 He literally let the Canaanites,
00:53:58 the Jebusites, and the Amorites hold Canaan
00:54:02 until Israel got mature enough to walk in it.
00:54:05 Which means literally you have slaves in your house
00:54:10 'cause you won't grow up.
00:54:11 Right now in River Oaks,
00:54:16 somebody living in your house
00:54:17 'cause you still want to be petty.
00:54:19 Right now there's somebody living on your 55 acres
00:54:26 with that mansion,
00:54:27 all because you won't just settle down
00:54:28 and stop being picky and petty
00:54:30 and just grow up and stop thinking, speaking,
00:54:32 and hearing childish and grow up by the word of God
00:54:37 so you can go take your stuff
00:54:39 (audience cheering)
00:54:42 Your grandchild is waiting on you to grow up.
00:54:45 I'm preaching.
00:54:51 I said I'm preaching.
00:54:54 I've been preaching almost 30 years.
00:54:58 I know when I'm preaching
00:54:59 'cause you ain't saying nothing.
00:55:00 That's when I'm preaching.
00:55:01 When I'm shouting, I'm just entertaining you,
00:55:04 but when you sitting there looking at me like this,
00:55:07 (audience laughing)
00:55:09 you don't know whether to hate me or love me.
00:55:12 I love you too much to have you suffer.
00:55:17 And forgive me if it don't come off like a mama.
00:55:23 I'm a father.
00:55:24 I can't hold you through this one.
00:55:25 I got to talk to you straight up,
00:55:27 right in your face and let you know,
00:55:29 baby girl, son, it's time.
00:55:31 It's the fullness of time.
00:55:33 (audience cheering)
00:55:36 God says I can't give it to you until you ready for it.
00:55:42 How many of y'all ready?
00:55:45 Come on now.
00:55:46 I said how many of y'all ready?
00:55:47 How many of y'all ready?
00:55:49 Ready to have your name on that business card,
00:55:51 ready for that business to be in your name,
00:55:53 ready for the LLC, ready for your family to be happy,
00:55:56 ready to have joy in your house,
00:55:58 ready to have peace in your home.
00:56:00 How many of y'all are ready?
00:56:02 (audience applauding)
00:56:04 And I ain't just talking about no money.
00:56:06 I'm not just talking about money.
00:56:10 I know a lot of people with money, they still sad.
00:56:12 I know a whole lot of people
00:56:15 and they got a whole lot of money
00:56:17 and yet they still can't find a place to lay their head.
00:56:20 Help me in this church, Jesus.
00:56:24 God says you are destined to inherit the kingdom
00:56:31 and yet you have slaves living better than you.
00:56:35 Not yet.
00:56:40 I ain't ready for them to shout.
00:56:41 Don't you let a slave outlive you.
00:56:48 Look at yourself in the mirror
00:56:56 and realize you were wonderfully made.
00:57:00 (audience murmuring)
00:57:02 He created you in his image and his likeness
00:57:07 and yet you have unbelievers living better than you
00:57:10 and happier than you and more peaceful than you
00:57:16 and they don't even have the joy of salvation.
00:57:18 It's 'cause you gotta stop speaking,
00:57:24 seeing and thinking as a child
00:57:28 so that the father can say she's ready.
00:57:30 He's ready and when you are ready,
00:57:36 you will start to see God work out things
00:57:38 you've been struggling to work on.
00:57:40 I know I'm right about it.
00:57:43 I'm gonna give you scripture.
00:57:53 Write down Galatians 3 and 26
00:57:57 and Galatians 3 and 29.
00:57:58 If you doubt me, endow him
00:58:02 'cause the Bible says likewise,
00:58:04 we are sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ
00:58:06 and we are heirs according to the promise.
00:58:09 Do you know what an heir is?
00:58:10 An heir is a person who gets to have
00:58:13 what the father has created for no other reason
00:58:17 than being related to him.
00:58:19 By virtue of my death,
00:58:24 my daughter becomes an heir of something
00:58:27 that God gave me the ability to build
00:58:29 that she had no part in.
00:58:31 And as African Americans,
00:58:35 it is hard for us to discuss this
00:58:36 because we are often not in a position
00:58:39 to leave anybody anything other than our debt.
00:58:41 So we don't know about heirs.
00:58:45 We don't know what it's like to be born rich.
00:58:48 But how many of y'all with me?
00:58:51 Your child gonna be born rich
00:58:54 and if they were not born rich,
00:58:55 they will be by the time the Lord takes you out of here
00:58:58 because you're gonna leave something behind
00:59:00 more than just trauma.
00:59:02 You're gonna leave some tools.
00:59:04 Who's with me today on that?
00:59:07 Touch somebody, say, for me and mine?
00:59:11 We gonna be all right.
00:59:12 How many of y'all believe that?
00:59:13 For me and mine, we gonna be all right.
00:59:15 If I don't care how long I gotta pray,
00:59:17 I don't care how much I gotta fast,
