24 hrs Left for Sub Explorers

  • last year
Five people are currently missing after a submersible, Titan, failed to return from an expedition to the wreckage site of the Titanic in the North Atlantic Ocean. The submersible, operated by tourism and research company OceanGate, was attempting to reach the sunken ship nearly 13,000 feet below the surface. The Titan, technically a submersible that requires support ships, lost contact with its support vessel, the Canadian research ship Polar Prince, approximately one hour and 45 minutes after launching. The submersible has a limited air supply and was sealed on Sunday morning, leaving those onboard with oxygen until approximately Thursday. However, even if the submersible is found, a rescue operation may not be possible due to the limited remaining air supply. The missing individuals include OceanGate's CEO, a British billionaire, a Pakistani businessman, his son, and a French explorer. Authorities from the United States, Canada, and France are conducting search and rescue efforts.
