Man Who Threw Phone at Bebe Rexha , Thought ‘It Would Be Funny’.
Nicolas Malvagna allegedly threw a phone
at the singer on June 18 while she was performing
in Lower Manhattan, NBC News reports. .
It hit her in the eye, and she
collapsed to the ground.
According to an unnamed witness, Malvagna allegedly told police, "I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.".
But during his arraignment on June 19, Malvagna pleaded not guilty. .
As a fan, Mr. Malvagna’s
sole intention was to have Ms. Rexha take photos with his phone, and return it as a keepsake. It was never his intention to injure Ms. Rehxa, Todd Spodek, Malvagna's attorney, via statement.
According to the criminal complaint, Rexha has suffered "redness, swelling, brusing and a laceration to her eye and substantial pain.".
