00:00 step back immediately if he punches up they might come on to protect themselves at all times good
00:05 luck to you both gentlemen
00:06 well there's a degree of intrigue around roman fury really only took up the sport
00:18 to shift a little bit of weight during lockdown
00:24 he's got the taste for it he's got the boxing bug wants to make his own name and tread his
00:30 own career path and i can only imagine that when when you have got the fury name it is
00:35 it is going to be difficult for him uh not not not least because it's going to give everybody
00:41 that extra 10 they're going to want to get the fury name on their own cv it's going to be that
00:47 little bit of extra motivation but somehow they've just got to try and take the pressure off him
00:53 yeah i think there's always going to be comparisons made there's going to be expectations there's
00:56 going to be you know a higher level of scrutiny and criticism um but also it can open up doors
01:01 for you as well so that there is positives as well as negatives but uh i think he's just got to try
01:06 and focus on his own career and you know prepare for the best opponents he can and then put in the
01:12 best performance he can and go at his own pace made a successful start to his pro career in
01:18 december against ryan hibbert over four rounds and box up as a promotional company you've got
01:26 a bit of a commitment to him nice left hand from roman fury there
01:29 he's got plenty of time on his side as well only 26
01:36 and under the guidance of bob howard i actually misspoke during the ring there although big
01:46 john fury was with him it's actually bob howard he's going to be doing the talking in between rounds
01:51 so far john has been a pretty uh quiet observer at ringside just to our left
01:58 nice straight left hand from roman fury
02:01 and i don't want to preempt anything but i don't think you're going to see a huge
02:11 punch output from boom boom eric nazarian he's probably just going to sit there and wait
02:17 for an opportunity to unload one big shot he can punch a bit i think you're right and i think he's
02:23 happy to just hook up and stay safe and just try and find his time and he sees out the opening
02:29 he'll go for it but i don't think he thinks he can win this fight on points i think he'll just
02:33 try and maybe lure roman fury in and then try and catch him almost with a soccer punch
02:38 and he's gonna he's gonna have a go at the mind games as well eric
02:48 box nice and tidy on his debut roman but he also understands it's the entertainment business uh
03:05 he was asked what did you want to work on now you've done it once he said i want to punch
03:09 with more authority work on getting my feet a little bit closer you're looking to making those
03:14 adjustments here already you can see he's trying to get a bit closer with his feet
03:17 he's not punching from too far out he's trying to get his feet in distance first
03:35 level
03:38 decent head movement there from the area and getting out of the way of the shots
03:42 fury trying to put a combination together landing the right hand
03:45 he's with the uh the left there is small short talking about
04:02 the height that goes with that if he's just taking even one percent of experience from
04:06 being around big fights like that it's going to be beneficial for him yeah definitely
04:12 young fighters you can describe like a sponge soaking up everything all the experience
04:27 round number two of this cruiserweight four round up roman fury is in the black trunks with
04:33 fury on the name band and eric nazarian well he hasn't ventured out of his shell yet
04:39 and that's probably because roman fury hasn't really allowed him to
04:44 there's quite a reach advantage he's keeping on the end of that jab
04:49 straight left through the middle as well as working well for him it is totally unfair to make
04:56 any comparisons with the world heavyweight champion but the way he shapes up and the way
05:01 he holds his stance there are some similarities with the way tyson certainly uh certainly holds
05:08 himself yeah well he's certainly fairly well schooled here you know his balance is pretty good
05:13 moving his feet well good variety too you know the kind of scoopy loopy body shots
05:20 then he puts it you know the right hook to the head straight left through the middle
05:23 putting combinations together in that fight that we did against scott forrest scott forrest was
05:31 really determined to put a serious dent in in nazarian and he was never in the fight and he
05:35 he can really punch scott forrest as well the developing cruiserweight the flip side of that
05:40 is he can be durable nazarian and he went the distance with anise taj who's on this bill
05:45 and jose abertin who's now walked away from the sport we wish jose all the best in retirement
05:51 but he can be durable that's right especially over four rounds we can't get away from the fact
05:57 and i don't really want to um you know make too much of it but just from an optics point of view
06:02 you look at someone like eric nazarian and i know body shape isn't everything but he he doesn't
06:08 he doesn't look in the best of shape that's fair enough oh yeah he doesn't look the part
06:14 but sometimes that can be deceiving you know he's he's uh heart and lungs might be pretty good he
06:18 can be cardiovascularly quite fit although aesthetically doesn't look well at all
06:24 you know he's experienced he's been in with a lot of fires he knows how to took off and
06:29 sort of survive the moment get through and like i say he does carry power because most of his wins
06:36 have came have come by knockout yeah and he's finding a home for that left hand fury and he's
06:42 got marks under both eyes now nazarian and the nose is just starting to bleed as well that's a
06:48 crisp left hand for roman fury
06:57 yeah nazarian trying to walk forward a bit more now trying to
07:03 pressure fury with his feet back him up by his pressure coming forward
07:08 fury just keeping up range he hasn't got brave enough yet to unleash that right hand as a ryan
07:18 and that's credit to roman fury who's kept him at a safe distance with those long levers
07:23 let's head over to ash clark each with top of your ear big side
07:32 i'm gonna be watching make of this so far roman turning the screen nicely well yeah very nice i
07:37 mean he's had two two professional fights this is the second one in his whole life never had an
07:41 amateur fight and in there he's looking like a guy who's had 20 pros did you expect him to turn pro
07:46 yeah definitely i mean he always had it in him it was just a case of actually getting there
07:49 getting the getting in the training camps and getting it done and he's doing that he's doing
07:53 absolutely marvelous i'm very proud of him okay so what about you what's next ksi we hear well
07:58 hopefully let's get ksi in the ring first and you know if that fight comes off i'll be a happy man
08:02 and that's it i'll take the shoe shoe boxing out within 12 months any kind of time scale you can
08:08 give us for that i mean later on in the year i think you'll see i think you'll see for sure
08:11 definitely it's a good answer andy back to you
08:15 tommy fury's gonna take out boxing in 12 months ksi is on his radar and he's very proud of his
08:23 brother rodent fury and so he should be there's they can't really uh say more than that he didn't
08:29 even have an amateur fight roman just watched family members doing it got the uh the urge to
08:35 give it a go himself and for that alone you have to give him a huge amount of credit because uh
08:39 he does look like someone that had some some good schooling but like i say he's pretty well
08:43 schooled isn't he's got decent balance uh nice variety straight shots to the middle uppercuts
08:50 uh plants his feet well for the right hook as well so yeah he's uh for someone that
08:55 as inexperienced as he is you have to say he's well schooled
08:59 and i know tyson lives a great life on instagram and you see see all of the uh the earnings and
09:07 material goods that he has um on the other hand roman he just says that i was born in the wrong
09:12 time i want a simple life playing snooker and walking with his dog a man after my own heart
09:16 as orion finally does look to uncork the right hand doesn't land it he's not got his range at
09:33 all and this is not where he wants to be backed into the blue corner
10:01 good combination punching from fury that's right he's got those gloves up nice and high for the
10:06 time being and as we saw early in the night i just i just wonder matt if roman could just
10:12 start to look to the body a little bit there's a target there it is but he's
10:17 it's quite quite a far way down to for him to land the body shots
10:21 you know maybe the looping shuts the body there
10:27 i've never done it
10:36 i think he's doing the right thing just keep keep on the end of the jab and try and look to
10:46 drive the straight left through the middle of the left uppercut if
10:53 yeah that was the shot you were calling for that didn't quite land it nasa ryan's defenses
10:57 were tight on this occasion but the uppercut as nasa ryan marches forward doesn't look like a bad
11:02 shot
11:06 moving
11:09 so
11:17 uh
11:30 all right
11:38 all right start sticking some into these shots now yeah i've only got your last round to go yeah
11:43 yeah don't switch off all right you've got to get switched keep switched up with him
11:50 you see when he sets his feet off you go bring him onto the uppercut he's very tough
11:56 you're hurting it
12:02 enjoy it all right keep everything along
12:23 there's only six stoppages on the slate so he's got three minutes to join that list but it is a
12:28 a tough ass because he's a solid man yeah he knows how to look after himself and then
12:34 the choke off and survive the moment but this is better you know if uh roman fury can
12:39 really sort of pry open the defenses i don't think single shots are going to do it even
12:45 doubles i think he's gonna have to really throw uh combinations to open up this guy
12:51 and it's only fight number two he will still be trying to gauge the the engine and the gas tank and
12:56 how quickly he can go just heads just bumping together slightly there it was a completely
13:02 unintentional
13:17 so
13:25 it's in this area experience singles doubles he'll catch a block and
13:40 survive those all night long but the wrong fury can put a burst together combinations five sixes
13:46 and then go again that's where he's gonna open this guy up and the voice you can hear over any
13:51 other here is tommy fury and in that exchange eric nazarian just knocked over saw it was tommy fury and
13:58 just blew out all the blood that was in his knives in his direction
14:01 but they're encouraged by this team fury it's been a very good first half of the final round
14:11 for the sort of cruiserweight having a fury to just keep him at range on the jab use the feints
14:17 and then when he's ready open up with a flurry of punches
14:21 and then go again with another flurry that's when he's going to get through
14:24 now he knows where they are he's just engaging in a uh the full array of clowning and uh
14:40 sending a few messages to john and tommy
14:42 just misses with the long backhand left there roman
14:53 he's landed enough to uh make a mess of the face of eric nazarian doesn't look like it's
15:05 going to be the first stoppage with fury but this is all part of a very good learning experience
15:12 another four in the bank and surely win number two for roman fury
15:31 what do you make of that yeah i can say it's only in second professional fight no amateur experience
15:36 uh i've had pretty well schooled decent balance good shots uh we're very good when you put the
15:43 combinations together kept you on range of the jab straight left of good the left uppercuts are
15:48 good as well didn't really take any stick either so when you put combinations together like that
15:53 he'd get through yeah that was certainly his best period of the whole fight wasn't he
15:59 brother and that was the uh the message that nazarian wanted to send to fury at ringside
16:07 yeah i mean you could say a little bit headhunting but i think with has arrived being so short in
16:14 comparison to actually reach down to the body probably felt like he would leave himself
16:18 open for a counter and actually staying with the head was uh his best tactic let's get confirmation
16:25 from big mo ladies and gentlemen after four full rounds we go to referee mark bates for the
16:37 official decision he sees the contest 40 to 36 declaring your winner and still undefeated roman
16:47 fury win number two for roman fury congratulations to him
16:53 on his york for one sky sports debut as well job well done
