1945 Freddie Slack - Kitten On The Keys

This is a recording of Freddie Slack and his Orchestra playing Kitten on the Keys from one of my Dad's 78rpm records, originally recorded for Capitol Records in 1945. Earlier in the 40's Freddie played with the Will Bradley Trio and had hits with Beat me Daddy, Eight to the Bar and Down the Road A Piece.

I recorded it at 45rpm on a Technics SL-D2 turntable with a Grado 78rpm cartridge, and a Tascam US-144 audio interface connected to tape out on my receiver with a USB connection to my PC. I used Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 16 to convert the speed and clean up the static and noise normally associated with recordings of that time.
