How to Make a Doll Sleeping Bag

00:00 I am going to make a sleeping bag for a doll using some fleece and some fabric I've taken
00:20 from an old cotton shirt.
00:22 I'm starting by folding my fabric over.
00:26 Then I place my doll on top to see how long and wide I want my sleeping bag to be.
00:31 You always want to try to measure it a little longer than you need and a little wider to
00:35 make sure there's enough space for your doll to fit in easily.
00:46 I am choosing to cut a rounded corner off the edge, but this is completely optional.
00:54 Once that's done, I'm going to open it up and lay it on the fleece.
00:59 I'm going to cut around the fabric, but I'm going to leave a little extra around the edges
01:03 because fleece tends to move a little bit when you sew it.
01:08 With good side to good side, I'm going to sew starting at the bottom, go all the way
01:13 around the edges, and then stop here but leave an opening so that I can turn it inside out.
01:19 Once it's been sewn, I'm going to trim off the excess, flip it right side out, fold it
01:27 in half so that the fleece is on the outside, sew a line that starts at about two thirds
01:32 from the bottom all the way down and across.
01:36 If you find that the fleece is too thick for your sewing machine, try substituting it for
01:40 flannel.
01:41 Flip it right side out, roll it up, and use hair ties to secure it, and you're done.
01:48 Happy crafting!
01:49 And as an added bonus, the sleeping bags also make great cases for iPods and cell phones.

03:23 This is Sophie's campsite.
03:27 She has an actual fire with a flameless tea candle that I surrounded with some sticks
03:32 from the backyard and a couple of rocks.
03:34 And she's roasting marshmallows, which are white pony beads, on a toothpick.
03:39 And her graham crackers and chocolate are just cut pieces of foam.
03:42 She has her sleeping bag and bow and arrow, which we made in a previous video called "How
03:47 to Make a Doll Bow and Arrow."
03:50 And a couple of woodland creatures for some added fun.
03:53 So hope you enjoyed it.
03:55 Happy crafting!
