00:03 Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
00:05 How are you today?
00:06 Today I'm here with my second
00:08 ColourPop Metamorphosis tutorial.
00:12 And in case you're like, "Dani, what the freak is that?"
00:14 Metamorphosis is a quad that I designed
00:17 with ColourPop Cosmetics.
00:19 You know how I feel about ColourPop.
00:21 Like, I wanna have their baby, basically.
00:25 Well, technically we already did.
00:26 So, we just had a child out of wedlock, basically.
00:29 And so, Metamorphosis is my baby.
00:32 I put so much thought into this project.
00:35 If you don't know what it means,
00:37 what it represents, what this whole thing
00:39 that we have going on with transformer shadows,
00:42 I will link the video where I introduced the product,
00:46 what it means, and how the transformer shadows work.
00:49 So, the quad is called Metamorphosis, or Be the Change.
00:54 Isn't it cute?
00:56 I feel like I need to do the intro
00:57 every single time I use this product.
00:59 It comes with four shadows, two transformer shadows,
01:03 and then two neutral shadows, I guess you could say,
01:07 like multi-purpose shadows.
01:09 So, the two shadows that are like the,
01:12 kind of the glue that's gonna hold everything together
01:15 are Bravery, this beautiful chocolate brown,
01:17 and Strength, this, oh, God, hello, Strength.
01:21 This is one of those colors that I just wanna rub
01:23 on my face, or my fingers, or my arm, wherever.
01:27 And then the other two, you are not ready for this
01:31 if you haven't heard about Metamorphosis.
01:33 These are the two transformer shades, Robot and Disguise.
01:36 And transformer shadows are basically these shadows
01:41 that I designed so that you could apply them
01:44 on top of an eyeshadow base,
01:46 and they will transform the color that shows up.
01:50 So, I'm actually wearing Hope, this one right here,
01:53 over a gold shade, and you could see
01:56 how it kind of just awakens the eyes,
01:58 and it gives you kind of that, well, what is that?
02:01 What is she wearing?
02:02 What's going on?
02:03 What's that situation?
02:03 So, this is an opalescent shadow
02:05 with like a pink and violet duality to it.
02:10 And then the star of the show, this is the Beyonce,
02:13 is Kindness, and Kindness is a beautiful duochrome.
02:17 It's a brown, maroon, turquoise, triple chrome
02:22 type situation, but it's sheer.
02:24 So, when you apply it over a base,
02:28 it just brings out the beauty of this shadow.
02:31 If you apply it by itself, it's pretty sheer,
02:34 so it just gives you a really beautiful glow.
02:37 So, I mean, you could use it like that too,
02:40 or you could put it on top.
02:41 On top of black is my favorite.
02:44 Oh, on top of black.
02:45 That's the first tutorial that I filmed using this quad.
02:48 So, if you guys wanna see how I got this
02:50 like glowy, summery look,
02:52 that's a little bit more wearable than the other,
02:54 then please keep watching.
02:55 Okay, so let's go ahead and get started.
02:57 Like I told you in my previous metamorphosis tutorial,
03:00 if you wanna be successful or obtain the best results
03:03 with ColourPop shadows, just go ahead
03:05 and carry your concealer or your foundation
03:08 through your eyelid and set it with the same powder
03:11 that you used to set your face.
03:12 Or you could do like a paint pot base,
03:16 a nude matte base, and then put a vanilla shade over it,
03:21 and you'll have optimum results.
03:23 The shadows will last a lot longer
03:25 and they won't crease if you have oily lids.
03:27 I don't have oily lids, but I like to do it anyway
03:29 because I feel like it just creates
03:31 that really smooth canvas.
03:32 So, what we're gonna do is we are going to take
03:36 a fluffy blending brush like this one,
03:39 and I do suggest that you use synthetic brushes
03:41 just because they are a lot more friendly
03:44 with ColourPop shadows.
03:46 So, you're gonna take the color Strength,
03:48 which is my transition shade or just that toffee shade,
03:53 that I really like, and we're going to apply that
03:57 right above the crease, and we're going to
03:59 liberally carry it all in this area
04:03 that I'm showing you guys.
04:04 So, basically, it's gonna be your transition,
04:06 but it's also gonna be almost like
04:08 you're creating a gradient.
04:10 So, if this color isn't specifically right
04:12 for your skin tone, like for your transition shade,
04:14 just take any color that is, but then you can use this one
04:17 as part of the gradient that you're creating.
04:20 And if you guys hear little strange noises,
04:21 it's because my toddler is in the room
04:24 and refuses to let his mama work.
04:26 Mommy life.
04:28 I'm also carrying it a little bit down
04:31 into the lower lash line.
04:33 After that, I'm going to take a gold eyeshadow stick
04:36 or crayon, and I'm going to apply that to the lid,
04:40 and that's going to work as our base
04:42 for our transition shade Hope.
04:44 When you're using a sticky eyeshadow base
04:49 or one of these long-wearing pencils,
04:52 you wanna make sure that you let them dry
04:54 in between layers because it will get cakey.
04:57 You can see in this eye, it's starting to look
04:59 a little built up or cakey because I didn't let it set
05:02 before I added the layer of Hope.
05:04 Now that the crayon has set,
05:06 I'm going to take the color Hope.
05:08 That's the opalescent, duochrome, pinky, purpley,
05:13 majestic, newborn, baby unicorn's first haircut shadow.
05:19 Hope, also known as Hope.
05:21 And I'm going to take it on my ring finger
05:23 and just pat that on top of the gold shadow stick.
05:27 And I want this just on the lid,
05:30 all the way up to the crease.
05:33 And if you want, you can put a little bit
05:34 in the inner corner area just to brighten things up.
05:38 Now what I'm gonna do is take the color Bravery.
05:41 That is the beautiful chocolate brown.
05:44 I never thought that I would like a matte brown shadow
05:47 as much as I do, but I do.
05:50 Did that make sense?
05:52 Anyway.
05:53 And that's just gonna go into the outer V.
05:55 So not necessarily the entire crease,
05:58 just the outer portion of the crease or the outer V area.
06:03 That's just gonna give you a little bit of dimension.
06:16 Blend out the strong or harshness of Bravery
06:20 so that it's not too intense.
06:22 Now let's work on the lower lash line.
06:30 I'm going to take a really, really small brush.
06:32 Look how tiny this is.
06:34 And I'm going to dip it into Bravery, the chocolate brown,
06:36 and that's going to go right up against my lashes
06:40 in the lower lash line.
06:42 (brush swishing)
06:45 And take an additional brush, a small brush,
06:54 but a little bit bigger than the one you just used,
06:56 and you're going to take the color Strength,
06:58 and that's going to go right below the chocolate color
07:02 or Bravery.
07:04 So you're going to apply it right below.
07:05 So basically what you're doing is you're doing
07:07 that smoked out or gradient effect, kind of subtle.
07:10 You don't want it to be too intense, like a smoky eye.
07:13 But I like to do it in reverse with ColourPop shadows
07:16 because of their interesting texture.
07:18 These aren't like powder shadows where you do,
07:22 you blow out the lighter color first,
07:24 and then you go in with the dark.
07:25 I just, I poke my eye out.
07:27 Like, I just, I just attach my retina.
07:29 What the heck?
07:30 So this isn't like powder shadows where you blow out
07:34 the lighter shade first, and then you go in
07:36 with a deeper color and just deepen everything out
07:40 right at the lash line.
07:41 These are different.
07:42 The texture is so different that I do it in reverse.
07:45 I'll do the darker color first and then the lighter color,
07:48 and I feel like it's a lot easier.
07:50 Now what I'm going to do,
07:52 and I think this is the last step.
07:54 Now I'm going to take an angled brush
07:56 and dip it into the color Bravery,
08:00 and that's going to be our fake out wing liner.
08:03 And I like to use,
08:05 I like to use an angled brush
08:09 and the deepest color of the eyeshadow look
08:13 that I'm creating, and I do sort of like a fake eyeliner
08:17 because it keeps the whole look looking very cohesive,
08:20 and it's also kind of like a beginner's trick.
08:24 So if you're not very familiar with how to use eyeliner,
08:27 or you don't feel comfortable,
08:29 you still get a little nervous,
08:30 it's a little bit of a cheater way to do it
08:33 because you see, like, my lines aren't necessarily
08:36 too straight or perfect,
08:39 but because it's subtle, it's a softer look,
08:41 it's not like a stark black line,
08:43 that you can kind of fake the funk.
08:45 Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to take
08:48 a matte chocolate eyeliner or crayon,
08:51 and I'm going to apply that to the tight line
08:54 and the water line.
08:56 Now apply a couple of really healthy coats
09:01 of your favorite mascara,
09:02 and you're all done with the look.
09:04 You could apply falsies,
09:06 but I feel like this is a really fun summery look,
09:09 and I don't feel like this look
09:11 really requires that much drama,
09:13 so I like to keep it a little simple.
09:16 But if I had used black eyeliner,
09:18 I for sure would have used falsies
09:20 because I would really want my eyelashes to stand out.
09:23 You guys know I have, like, baby lashes,
09:25 and if I don't, if I use a black eyeliner,
09:28 they're basically invisible.
09:30 Super easy, right?
09:31 I really hope you guys like this tutorial.
09:33 I'm going to try and do several tutorials
09:35 using this quad so that you guys can get more inspiration
09:38 because I know that to the naked eye,
09:40 if you stare at these four colors,
09:42 you're like, what?
09:44 It's hard to kind of come up with looks
09:48 that you want to create.
09:49 So just keep in mind that this quad
09:51 or these colors were selected to inspire you
09:53 to come up with your own combination
09:55 and to create something so beautiful
09:57 and just that transforms into something
09:59 that you wouldn't expect.
10:01 So we got two shadows to hold you down,
10:04 and then we got two duochromes
10:06 to just inspire your creativity.
10:08 I will link the story of Metamorphosis
10:10 in the description box below,
10:12 along with the first tutorial that I filmed using this quad
10:16 and all the other products that I used in this tutorial.
10:18 I really hope you guys enjoyed it.
10:20 Let me know if you would like to see more
10:23 tutorials using this quad because you know I want to deliver.
10:26 I think that's it, guys.
10:28 I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below,
10:30 and as always, if you guys found this video useful,
10:32 entertaining, or learn something,
10:34 please give me a thumbs up or subscribe
10:36 if you haven't already, and until next time,
10:38 this coffee break is over.
10:39 Bye, guys!
